I hate cancel culture. Nowadays it has become so normalized to hate people over a single thing they do, but people aren't black and white. We make bad and good decisions, that's just how humans are! In my opinion, cutting people out of their life because of a single opinion they don't share, is very damaging. Does this one bad thing really cancel out all the good things they've done? Does that suddenly not matter anymore? Instead of cutting someone out and avoiding conflict, we should at least try looking at things from their perspective. What happened in their lives that they are having this sort of opinion? Maybe you would have acted the same way if you grew up like them! Cancel culture is destroying empathy and you're driving yourself in a corner if you avoid someone the moment you disagree with them.

I made a policy at my job, no political talk, we can talk about news and such, but it out starts veering toward conservative v liberal v undecided, etc. its over. Now to only people who come in and talk politics are my higher ups and customers. It helps, it was mine and two of my employees first times voting, and one of them was terrified people would see who they voted for, we shouldn't be afraid of that because it shouldn't dictate who is in your life

I actually just blocked 2 cousins and an Aunt & Uncle. One of the cousins wanted to get into a debate. So we did. Idiotically of me, I thought she could keep it respectful. But then she tried to insult me by saying I’m not raising my son, essentially trying to say I’m a bad mom. When told to delete it by my mother, she doubled down on what she said about me and then said that I could delete my post. Basically trying to control my OWN social media account. She also said that she said it bc I put “lol’s” and “lmao’s” in my comment and apparently that means I’m “upset or angry”. 😂
So not only has she lost the debate and her points instantly became null and void. But she also lost me, my mother, my father, and my other Aunt and Uncle.
