I just watched your whole devlog series in one sitting because it’s just so addicting; Veil of Maia’s gonna be a must play for me! Tho I have to ask: when you were talking about the camera panning you mentioned using an analog stick, so are you planning on also having mouse and keyboard controls? (I don’t have a console so I haven’t gotten around to getting a controller yet😅) Keep up the amazing work!!

Oh man... Why? making an indie is free, it's just time. and they rarely make money.

as i've learned for numerous indie devs, Never EVER quit your job for a game or to start a studio. not to mention selling your house! unless you got 2 years of savings to run everything of course. but good luck!

Some makes games to afford a house. Some sell a house to afford making a game

Looking into cinemachine for camera mechanics might save you a lot of time as the game progresses

I love when developers talk about their struggle, it's highly relatable LOL

Dude! I subbed! I’ve been working on my own game for about 18 months now, I’m almost in the same boat as you. I’ve saved up enough income for the next 20 months to begin my game dev journey. A huge change from general contractor. However I’ve always been an artist. So story world building, dialog, these come easy. I’ve barely touched unity. My world is almost completely flushed out. Story is very far along. Desired mechanics are nearly complete. Areas are all roughly laid out. And a couple basic routes planned. I’m saying all this because I’d love to connect if you’re into that. I’m trying to find friends in the same boat and I’ll be really honest, I was in a cult for 12 years, after we left the cult we lost all our connections. Sad but whatever. You’ll find in pretty down to earth and can be very helpful if need be. Anyway let me know if you want to chat some time and if not no sweat and good luck. I’ll be supporting your project either way
