Winter is the best time of year, especially in SD. Not so much this year yet though as we definitely do not have enough snow.
What about the hot springs?

My husband and I hiked horse thief trail yesterday.. it was soooo amazing!! The creek was completely iced over.. I however did not wear the right hiking boots and was having little mini heart attacks every few feet, when I would slip a little bit 🤣 lesson learned but still 100% worth it!
