I appreciate that you took the time to speak through this slowly and make an English translation. However, Barbara is famous for her rhubarb cake, not her rhubarb pie. Many Germans don't understand the difference between cake and pie. I have lost track of the number of times a German has told me they were going to make pie for dessert, and then I got super excited about it, only to be presented with a piece of cake. :) Dessert pie (and most types of meat pie) is almost always made with a type of flaky dough Germans call Mürbeteig. In the baking dish, there is usually a layer of Mürbeteig, then a filling, and then another layer of Mürbeteig (or another topping like streusel, whipped cream, etc.) on top. Cakes in Germany can have a base made of Mürbeteig, but that's not common in anglophone countries.

Lets give this some love with the recent popularity of the rhabarberbar song and dance :D This is the complete original tongue twister the song is based on.
