I really wonder what it was like for people when they first saw this twist back in 1980 when Empire Strikes Back first premiered.
ОтветитьRevenge of the Sith and Empire are the best Star Wars films.
Ответитьthat scene , well 2 really. the carbon freeze room, 1st with han, and the oranges and dark blues, give added emotion to it. also. when vader blocks fett from shooting at chewie, ontice he has 3po on his back. in TPM we learn he built him. maybe he cared about his creation still
later. in same room the oranges dark blues, the dhilloutee of vader the red an dblue light sabres. wow!
One of my top-5 movies that I can watch every year. It has a few sins though:
1. Luke was supposedly hidden from his father, but they didn't change his last name! The Emperor calling their new enemy, "The son of Skywalker" doesn't make much sense, whereas "The rebel that destroyed the Death Star" does. However, Darth Vader saying "The rebels are there, and Skywalker is with them" still made sense as his name might have gotten out in three years. His true name is not said to be Anakin Skywalker until the next movie.
2. The Space Slug shouldn't leave its hole for a relatively little ship like the Millennium Falcon. It should have just closed its mouth and we see the ship come out between its teeth.
3. Mispronouncing Han. He introduces himself as Han (rhymes with fawn) Solo. But some people pronounce it as Han (like hand).
4. Leia kissing Luke. Not a problem until Lucas decided for the third movie that "there is another" would refer to Leia. The line was really to tell audiences that Luke could die or be turned and the war would go on. If Leia didn't know who her real father was, you'd think she would have the medical droids do blood tests, just in case a relative showed up?
5. Not really a mistake, but we never really found out what was said to make Lando betray his friend Han. They could have said so in the novelization, the Radio Drama, or for an end credit scene in Solo. Vader gave Solo to Boba Fett to take to Jabba the Hutt, but apparently wasn't going to reward Lando in any way for his cooperation. Maybe it goes back to "never trust a traitor?" Or because Lando had been cheating the Empire out of its taxes?
I really like Kirshner's Eyes of Laura Mars.
ОтветитьI know it's a very unpopular opinion, but this movie is actually my least favorite of the first 6 Star Wars movies. I still like it, but I just found it to be a bit boring and didn't get quite as much enjoyment out of it compared to the other movies.
ОтветитьVader means father in Dutch …. It was planned
ОтветитьExcellent Irvin Kershner movies: THE FLIM FLAM MAN with George C. Scott and Michael Sarrazin, A FINE MADNESS with Sean Connery and Joanne Woodward, THE RETURN OF A MAN CALLED HORSE with Richard Harris, and THE EYES OF LAURA MARS, with Faye Dunaway and Tommy Lee Jones, written by John Carpenter.
ОтветитьImpossibly hard to make a sequel as good/better than the original (when the original was so huge, that is) , unless it's SW or Aliens. Or: ?
ОтветитьThe "I am your father" line needed at least 100 more wins.
ОтветитьThe book Allegiance shows how Han is convinced she likes him. It is great reading
ОтветитьAwesome Video!!! I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!!! It's not My Favorite Star Wars Movie, that would be Revenge Of The Sith, And A New Hope is still My Favorite of The Original Trilogy, But This Movie is Amazing! Also That is still The Greatest Twist in The History if Cinema!
ОтветитьMissed the Boat on Boba Fett!? Boba Fett!? Where!?
Nah so like, the thing I always come back to is; everyone simpers around Vader like he’s the most dangerous being in the universe. Half of Fett’s lines are directly standing up to him, like he’s not afraid. He’s in the lair of this guy and he’s just like getting pointed at “no disintegrations.” He’s surrounded by empire forces and he’s like “he’s worth a lot, to *me.*”
"Do or do not" is such a bad thing honestly. It's an absolute funny enough but the advice is sound. In other words it mean "at least try".
ОтветитьLuke's face in Vader in Dagobah Cave wasn't dad-shadowing, it was message that Luke fears to become like Vader.
ОтветитьHan is clean shaven when she calls him "scruffy". Isn't a 5' o clock shadow, at a minimum, a requirement to be scruffy? Another possible continuity error. 800 years Yoda trained Jedi and he's 900ish when he dies, so he was 100 when he took a padawan. Grogu is over 50 at the beginning of the Mandalorian and still practically a toddler years into that show. More retconning issues - "No, there is another". Well, Ahsoka is out there, Ezra, etc.
Ответить"Are you one of the 36 people who can't get enough of Robocop 2?"
I'm probably at least 3 of them.
"Han solo using a lightsaber."
ОтветитьLuke teaching hinself to summon his lightsaber in the wampa cave is the perfect counterpoint to Rey mind tricking the stormtrooper being a reason to hate the prequels.
ОтветитьYour ex marked my spot, a lot like birds
ОтветитьLong ago my parents told me that one day I would consider Empire the best Star Wars movie, and by god they were correct.
Always enjoyed how Piett’s gaze keeps being drawn to Ozzel before snapping back to Vader.
I love in the Family Guy parody of this film where they take Dack's line even further and he just flies out into space solo and gets blown to bits.
ОтветитьLol I remember watching this movie over and over on DVD and recreating the events with figures. Ever since I was little this was the most awesome movie I've ever seen.
Ответить😎🖤🇺🇲☢️✨
ОтветитьI never noticed too much difference in Mark’s face before and after surgery due to the accident. I still don’t see it outside of natural aging and maturing as there is time between the filming and actual events of the first two films. I mean it could’ve been worse to where you really couldn’t recognize him like some other celebs, ie current Madonna. Also Lando was once supposed to be a clone from a planet full of clones that rose up and rebelled against the republic hence the clone wars, but we all know that changed but that would’ve been a tad more interesting than Boba Fett is technically a clone.
ОтветитьAll-terrain anti-tank. Do you call an SUV a suuuuuuuvvvv?
ОтветитьOh no he was mad with him in the comics.
ОтветитьAll I want to say is Robocop 2 and Never Say Never Again are both great films. He's a good director.
ОтветитьI'm kind of on the fence about the rule of letting emotions rule you by the Jedi. I mean I get it at least in theory, but maybe more people would have stood by the Jedi if they thought the Jedi cared more about the lives they saved. They seemed a little distant and cold to me in the prequels. I also believe that Anakin could never have come back if Luke hadn't cared so much about other people. This ability helped him to see past Vader's outer shell deep inside where Anakin's soul still lived. Part of this might just have been optimism and desperate hope but (and I know the books are considered non-canon now even though they've been in print for almost 30 years) in the later books Luke was able to pull more than one student back from the dark side. I believe one of his force abilities is the ability to see with clarity whether someone can be brought back (I see it kind of like Mace Windu's ability to see patterns through the force I can't remember what they call it but it's mentioned in either "Revenge of the Sith" or "Attack of the Clones").
ОтветитьI can't believe you didn't win the "weeeeeeee-EEEE-ehhhhhhh" of the AT-AT walking
ОтветитьHey my wife says she wants to crawl up inside me like Luke in the Tauntaun so don't feel bad.
ОтветитьATAT is fine, since it's an acronym that can be said and not sound dumb. The ADATS is referred to as ADATS instead of A.D.A.T.S, and this is coming from someone who hated people who said ATAT as a kid.
ОтветитьWith Empire, Two Towers and The Dark Knight, we really need to put to bed that 2nd films of trilogies aren't brilliant thing.
Ответить“3,720 to 1”
“What are the odds of having a Correllian smuggler, a Wookiee, and a protocol droid together with an Alderaanian princess who just so happens to be the daughter of the dark lord of the Sith?”
Decipher SW CCG.
One of my favorite pieces of card text ever
MINE!! Or I will help you not!
ОтветитьI mean considering the characters themselves go back and forth on how they say it in addition to the actors doing so as well, both ways of saying AT-AT (All Terrain Armored Transport) are correct
ОтветитьLots of people said this is their favourite. It’s great but need to see the next one. I was a teenager when it came out and the ewoks disturbed me. Get them now.
Completely right with Yoda so brilliant.
probably one of your easiest videos to make
ОтветитьThank you CinemaWins Guy for pointing out the beginning, middle, and end of the live of the spider arms droid. It is not something I noticed before, I shall point it out to family next time the movies are watched. Now all we need is an origin story for this hidden character, so we can true viewer-character bonding. Quick! Somebody make a fanfic about that droid!
I'm surprised Jeremy from CinemaSins hasn't caught this droid with a surprising larger story for a hidden character, good for you being the one to catch it, instead!
Han: Lando is not a system. he is a man.
Leia: Can you trust him?
Han: No.
CinemaWins: Intuition.
Me: Nope, that isn't intuition. That is interpersonal experience. Solo hustled the Falcon from Calrissian in a card game. Han knows that guy isn't the most honest or honorable person around. But he has no other escape options, so he goes to Cloud City, anyway. However, he wisely does everything he can to keep Leia close to makes she doesn't get hurt or swindled. Thankfully, running Cloud City has given Calrissian more honor than he used to have, so he can be more trustworthy ... his deal with Vader, aside. I mean, just look at his loyalty and honor in ROTJ. He proves himself well before he end of the movie. He just had to get out of Vader's clutches before he has a chance to redeem himself. And, even then, he was remorseful for the situation he put Solo and friends through.
If you just look at ESB by itself, Calrissian is somebody not every viewer or character can forgive because what he did was unforgiveable. But, I'm able to be more forgiving and see the growth of his honor and loyalty because of his redemption and loyalty in ROTJ. Also, as a movie character he is Badass and Billy Dee Williams had the perfect smooth side to play him. He does everything he can to win your heart. You just can't say no to such charisma. If he were presented as a true bad guy, then you would have no choice but to "love to hate him" as you do any true antagonist. Just like we love to hate Vader and Tarkin as badass bad guys!
I wish we could have seen the probe droid wait till morning, create a force field round itself, the snow forms a crust and it busts out at sunlight, apparently was going to be filmed but wasn't
ОтветитьSorry, have to use one of the oldest jokes for Yoda-speak. "What you expect from someone years old nine hundred? English perfect?"
ОтветитьThe two tower is the best movie in the lotr trilogy.
ОтветитьR2, let him have it!
Ответитьanyone really stop and listen to Chewie's cries as Han is going into the carbonite? It is so sad and excruciating. Really does sound like an animal is terrible pain! Even a "No!" can be heard in there. Brutal. I never heard it like that as a kid watching the scene
ОтветитьI actually liked robocop 2
ОтветитьDavid Prowse: “No, Obi-Wan, was your father”
James E. Jones: “No… I, am your father…”
"I'm not afraid"
"You will be"
"At the very lest, afraid of seagulls"
I laughed so hard!
