The design and controls are very simular...

The T2’s strength is the all metal mode ..... insanely deep .......Disc mode is good for surface hunting 1 - 5 inch .....love the T2

I purchased one a year ago and I love it. The T2 will hold it's own against some of these $1000 + detectors. I love it for its power and simplicity.

I'm sold! It's late so I intend to order one of these first thing in the morning - to replace my much loved but ageing Eurotek which is on the blink and not cost-effective to repair. It was this T2 or the Pro (a great machine at the price, for sure) but for the extra cost, especially with the T2+ upgrade offered here, I just had to push the boat out and get one of these beauties. Must not forget the essential water-proof cover. I can now sell my XP GoldMaxx Power - a great detector but quite tiring with the 11" x 15" coil to swing about, at my age and condition!


Thanks for all the help and advice freely given this week Graeme, I am so glad someone on a recent MD rally (with Lune Valley or South Ribble MDC) mentioned you and Unearthed UK. I might otherwise have even gone and bought one of those Chinese fake versions I spotted online had I not been able to have you confirm true country of manufacture as being the USA - and wasted a lot of money. I can't wait to get out with it on the two new permissions granted over on the Fylde, and the beaches of course.


 A 1797 Cartwheel Penny found there last week, my oldest find to date, has certainly spurred me on. The T2 will surely find more hidden gems. The Green Waste I discovered, seemingly spread all over one of them (pure vandalism imho), will surely cause too much trouble to bother but with the T2, I will give it a try first. A great video, thanks, which I will certainly return to for the valuable tips you gave on it's operation. Cheers.


P.S. Why would you not run with the Boost Process mode on permanently, I wonder?

Hi Graeme, out of interest why do you ground balance on sensitive 25 and then raise it.
I've always ground balanced at higher sensitivity, usually around 75.

You're skipping large sections with your swing.

I really like the Teknetics t2 Except for two things that in my opinion would only boost the sales of the machines #1 Put in a backlight, when it gets close to dark and you are not done detecting it is near impossible to view the screen ...#2 Have the warranty transferable..right now the warranty is only good for the original buyer unlike Minelab where there is a shorter warranty But the warranty is transferable.
You got some pull mate, ask them to put in a backlight and have the warranty transferable, it would only boost their sales.

Great review thanks .I have teknetics euro pro and when a good target is near iron or discriminated out trash it will give a signal very much like your roman hoard one which I always dig and always find something good .The recovery speed is very good on this brand of detectors and getting to know this type of signal only comes with practice .Thanks again for the excellent review.

Hi Graeme , it has to be said the T2+ or the T2 S/E perform really well i regularly use the Boost Programme and it does what it says on the tin LOL , it finds deep targets !!  there is no doubt about it , sometimes when i am digging a target in the BP mode i think to myself ( how much bloody deeper do i have to dig LOL ) the other thing i like about the T2 S/E it has a 2C programme that cuts out the iron audio altogether , anyway a good test mate and shows it's true capabilities , take care pal ATB Rob .

I have a tecnetics t2 special edition with a ultimat detech 13 inch coil. The settings I use 99 sens 40 disc tones bp . Ive dug down 3 1/2 ft for ancient horse shoes.and iron junk . Iff I have a power line I adjust the frequency to stabilise the machine those coins you buried would be easy to pick up with my settings certainly better than the one you're using.

I run a t2 se with boost Process, its incredible the depths and signals it finds, plus all t2s love silver, this really looks to be the one to buy today. Thanks for the tip on the batteries too Graeme.

Real impressive demo Graeme. This machine certainly seems excellent value across the board... Even though the deep signal was scratchy, I think the majority of detectorists would check it out on tone alone, if only by taking out a spades depth of soil to find out if the signal got stronger and stabilised itself.... 'If in doubt, dig it', is the general, go to option : after all, it's what Unearths those wonderful elusive hoards at depth . We all of us have our 'brand loyalties', and machines of choice, and fair play, however, it's no surprise to me and many others, no doubt, that so many T2 owners swear by their machines' capabilities. Brilliant machine mate, I love mine easy to use and packs a real punch. I’ve found 2 gold rings, hammered and tonnes of milled silver with mine. Very very stable as you point out and great amongst the iron. No better machine in the price range in my opinion. For pasture the bp comes into its own. I’m tempered to use mine in that mode all the time now. Great informative video mate as always. Thanks for sharing that experience and advice 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
