Hey everyone! Thanks for watching! As you may notice, I misspeak and cal THIS Tv the X90K instead of X90L a few times. I guess that comes from talking about the X90K and U8K so much on the X90L video. Whooops! Too many ‘K’s! I apologize for the goofs. Outside of that, what do you think of this TV? The Sony Tax in this case isn’t so big.
ОтветитьCaleb, what soundbar would you pair with the X90l? Just bought the 85" model from Costco for $2000. Came with a 5 year warranty and backlit remote. You and Vincent helped me decide on the X90l.
ОтветитьReally glad to see this review. I bought an X90L yesterday to replace a 2017 Samsung. Glad to see I made the right decision. 😊 Eagerly waiting its delivery and installation in two days time.
ОтветитьThe previous K version from Costco which we purchased last year ended up getting the infamous fade to black screen. Dealing with Costco and Sony warranty has been perfect. Sony asked us to send some pictures of the issue to them and two days later we got an email saying that they are going to ship us this model. We were ready to try and move onto a different brand but I’m very impressed by Costco and Sony’s warranty department
ОтветитьWould you recommend this over the Samsung q80c?
ОтветитьI love this brown wooden tv stand table in your videos, will you please share what's its name?
ОтветитьJust saw the Sony above in 85 inch for 2100$ shipped !!! Now I just need a house big enough to fit this monster
Ответить500 pounds more than I paid for TCL c845 and considering I paid 750 for it, that's a lot extra.
So firstly if it's better, it bloody should be.
Secondly, other analysis I've seen say it's better in some respects and worse in others.
So not straight win and 500 extra, not for me
Great video. I usually go with the cheapest TV by size. But I was wanting to maybe pay a little more for something alot better. I have had a Mitsubishi 65" rear projection TV for 20 years now. I paid 3000 for it. I think it's time for an upgrade!
ОтветитьDamn, Sony is back?
ОтветитьThis video just popped up in my YT feed. While I generally agree with this man's comments I felt the need to add to it. I own this Sony. I purchased the 85" version of it for a mere $2100.00. For this price for this size TV it is an absolute steal. I watched it untouched for several weeks. Satisfied with its out-of-the-box performance. What is most important to me is accurate color, contrast, and realistic representation of the original content creator's intent. Equally important is VALUE. Totally satisfied.
That said, I had this Sony Calibrated by a Certified Calibration company after a while of initial ownership. The $2100.00 dollar cost of buying it made this a realistic option. Post Calibration this Sony excelled for its price range. The difference was noticeable across the entire viewing range. Every viewing mode was improved to the point that it rivaled TV's I evaluated at much higher price points. Visually. Not with highly specialized measuring devices.
In fact, my wife who does not care at all about these things actually commented post-Calibration that the picture looks so much more real when watching the TV.
Yes, you can pay much more and get somewhat better out-of-the-box picture quality. Even with other Sony TV's. Or, you can pay a bit less and get in the Ball Park but, at this price point for this size TV you will not get a better TV in real life use. Period.
You would have to spend far more than the post-calibration cost of this TV to come close to the real-life picture quality of this TV after professional calibration to rival the end result. My real-life actual owner opinion is, this Sony is an absolute steal for the money. And, if you have a Certified Calibration Option near you, spend the money to optimize this TV across its various viewing options. You will not regret it. You'll love it and you'll save a bit of cash as well.
I think it's too late for Sony to enter the market level where Hisense and TCL dominate when it comes to Prices/Specs. Sony had that opportunity a while back, but never bothered.
ОтветитьSo if I game is this not the tv for me?
ОтветитьJust returned a Hisense U6K, hated it. Have Sony and Samsung tv's and there is just no comparison. The processing was subpar, the screen looked washed out anf slightly unfoxused or not shatp and clear. The motion handling was bad. I havexa 6 year old Qled edge lit Samsung that just destroys the Hisense in my opinion. Sharper, clearer, better mtion, better upscaling, better streaming performancr etc. Bunch of check box specs dont mean crap when you turn it on and watch it. I really wanted to like it and gave it a yry and it failed miserably. Sticking with Sony or Samsung.
ОтветитьWhy no HDR mentions? That is the main problems I had with Sony.
Ответить4 minutes in, are we talking about the x90k or x90l
ОтветитьHisense
ОтветитьI just bought it. Where can I find what are the best settings or how to tune it? Thanks for the review
ОтветитьHas somebody else noticed vertical black bands while panning laterally? I notice it more in games like starfield
ОтветитьThe only tv that ever failed me within 2 years was a Sony.
ОтветитьCry more sony fanboy.
ОтветитьI just got this tv. setting it yup tomorrow. can’t wait to see how it is with ps5. I need to get 2.1 hdmi cables.
ОтветитьThanks for the fantastic review Jason Baitman 😉
ОтветитьThanks for the good content!
Question to Anyone: IF my preferred video source is a PC graphics card (not gaming), THEN does that bypass all the internal processing capabilities of most modern TV's?
I'd read that that is what gamers preferred, and that newer HDMI 2.1 120Hz inputs would auto-detect and bypass processing to minimize latency. But, if choosing Internet streaming sources available only from browsers that cannot be installed on a, "smart," TV [ie: Libre Wolf, or Firefox w/uBlock Origin extension] without greatly reducing every metric of performance, well, then what's the point? May as well wait until OLED comes down in price and lasts long enuf (I'm sure there's a Differential Equation showing that'll never happen). Thank you!
Hey Caleb..I'm in the market for a 75" tv...and $1700 for this sony is way out of my budget...just seems way more expensive....you have raved about the Hisense and TCL mid grade tvs that are way less expencive...and this seems like Sony's entry level...anywho...thanks for your great reviews as always!!!..keep up the good job sir...:-))
ОтветитьThe question is.. X90L or QN90b ?
Ответитьwhats your thoughts on a main living room tv. 75" qm8, x90l or 65" a95k. I like the bigger size, but they are all the same price. I just cant decide...
ОтветитьA $1200 55" TV is value? My 6 series TCL was half that when I bought it in 2020.
ОтветитьAs someone who doesnt know much about TVs, would the 55” LG B2 for $1000 not just be better since its OLED?
ОтветитьYeah Hisense are really killing the game with bang for buck. Im about to buy 2 55in U7K tvs for a his and hers gaming room. Right now they are going for $530 bucks on Amazon. Nothing beats Hisense in quality for the price.
Ответитьwhich would you recommend the Sony X93L or the Samsung QN85C thanks
Ответить@caleb_denison, I'd like to get your recommendation on a good TV for my bedroom. I'm trying to choose between a Heisense and TCL 55" 4k. I'm not a Nit Nerd but want a good picture and use the Google TV system. I currently have a Heisense 55" Class A6 Xumo in there now but want to move that to my living room and get a better TV with 4k in the bedroom. Not looking to break the bank, but want a good TV at a reasonable price.
I'm also thinking about getting the JBL 5.1 soundbar. Is this a good soundbar to pair with your recommend(s) or is there something around that price range that is better.
Appreciate your input.
$1300 is considered low budget...LOL
ОтветитьBuy another one.... I think u got a golden sample.
ОтветитьHi Caleb, i really like your reviews. I have a question, which TV is better, Sony X90L or Hisense U7H?
ОтветитьIn Canada, the 65" TCL QM6 is $1399 vs $1899 for the X90L (currently $100 off at $1799). With those prices in mind, it'd appear the TCL is still the value pick but if the were <$200 apart, I guess that'd provide more reason to really think it over.
ОтветитьPlease advice X90L for 1398CAD or U88KM for 1048CAD?
ОтветитьI can't trust sony anymore after they haven't fix vvr issues with Nvidia gpus
ОтветитьEven if you just care about longevity of your purchase a little bit, the Sony should be the no brainer choice over anything from TCL and Hisense. Those "value" brands from China aren't built to last like Sony's are, and are only designed to make it past the warranty period and not much further.
ОтветитьAnother excellent review and I just wanted to give an extra big shout for the inclusion of the Hank Mobley record and the ST70 behind you in this video. You got class, Caleb.
ОтветитьI still like looking at a Full Array Dimming TV over a Mini-LED TV. I don’t know what it is, but it just looks more natural.
ОтветитьGreat review. I still have my X90f , great tv.
ОтветитьJust make sure you sit directly in front and centre of it
ОтветитьSony x90l or LG A OLED ? Which one is value for money?
ОтветитьI wish there were comparisons between X85L and X90L. The major difference is the processor (X1 vs XR) and I'd love to see how much improvement the processor can bring.
ОтветитьAs long as Sony bafflingly continues to use Google TV as the on-device OS, I’ll never buy another Sony TV again, no matter how good the display actually is.
Ответитьim between the qm8 and the x90L, massive sports watcher. from watching these videos it seems like the x90l is better for sports? which would be your pick
ОтветитьTV prices were dropping for years now. A 99” screen costs less than 4000 Euros today. Competition is a blessing.
