Firstly Kraftwerk used a Minimoog, Mk 1 ARP Odyssey, Farifsa Organ and Custom vocodr for Autobahn.

"Wir fahren, fahren, fahren auf der Autobahn" = "We drive, drive, drive on the motorway".
Not really a nod to the Beach Boys, unless it was a bilingual in-joke.

You need a new cart for your turntable. I have a technics turntable, and have noticed this static in the upper registry of the cart if the stylus gets damaged, or simply wears out.

I'd love to see you do a similar review of Magnetic Fields by JMJ. Just an incredible piece of work. Thanks.

Checkout Captain Pikant who did a wide review of Kraftwerk and a simple breakdown of their albums a few months prior to this video, perhaps this video was inspired by it.

Kraftwewrk invented the STAR WAR effect and sound 7 year befor movie.
40 year later the sound of Kraftwerk still on the world musics.
Electronic music began in underground Germany because the laws did not allow people to invent something unless it went through the government and it took over the copyright. That's why Kraftwerk didn't come out before the Tone Float album.

Except it's not "fun fun fun" it's "fahren fahren fahren". They're singing "drive, drive, drive on the highway". And they're fecking with you! :-D

I assume Doktor Mix doesn't realize that the album sleeve actually depicts the German Autobahn road sign meaning "the Autobahn begins here".

Think about the industrial age, metal factory's, coal mines, boom, kling. Metal clinging, dig machines, hard live

I do think you got some things wrong. Kraftwerk always wanted the mimick or replicate true environmental sounds. Autobahn is a mix of going on a journey, there was an accident on the highway, but we managed to get true, dispite the terror on the dayly road

Is that just a simple phaser on the mid-range chords? Or is it more processed? It has so much warmth & character and has a lot of potential, almost approaching an electric guitar stature.

I was 15 years old in 1974. I picked strawberries to raise the money to buy this album. Then in 1977 they came to the Paramount heater in Portland Oregon and I paid 5 dollars for a ticket to the show. Tangerine Dream came and played for2 dolor tickets a month later.

for me (and for other music lovers) music has both volume and color. when I listen to a song or an album, images form in my mind. my idea (I don't know if it's original) is that the lights at a concert should follow the music. sounds to have shape and color in space. I tried to do this by hand in an animation program but it's a 2d space (at a concert it's not a bad thing). I think we would enjoy and understand the music better and easier if it also had this visual component.
