So jon, if the second amendment is canceled, how long do you think the rest of our given rights will last as we know our government is so trusted!

I believe that those who are against guns are people who have never been robbed, assaulted or have called 911 while someone was trying to break into their home.
(911 response time average is 10 to 18 minutes...., think about that)

This is such an unbelievably black and white issue and it kills me that people don't understand it. If the government are the only people with guns, you live in an authoritarian state. Just because they aren't actively abusing their power right now doesn't mean they can't change their mind in 1 second.

Yeah, it’s actually pretty impressive of how much of a pseudo intellectual this guy is. The evil thing about him is I believe that he knows what he’s doing is completely skewed, that’s why he chooses to debate people like this. He wouldn’t have a debate with Ben Shapiro in 1 million years, and if he did, his smug days of smelling his own farts would be over.

Look at Australia how successful gun regulation works. Founding fathers called for a citizens to bear arms for those in a militia only and immediately had laws regulated guns that didn’t allow African Americans or native Americans to have guns, those who committed certain crimes the inability to bear arms, and scatterguns and extra long hunting rifles.

On top of that, the ability to “bear arms” was ONLY meant to be used in a military/militia capacity not in self-defense.

The 2nd amendment is the only right that people always take the text literally and don’t allow for interpretation, something goes against the essence of the founding fathers. I do not agree with the banning of all weapons, but there is absolutely no need for weapons like the AR to be circulated in the public and up until the 2000’s it was taboo to even be brought to a gun show. It’s a shame that this has become so politicized that as a nation we would rather live in some hypothetical world of “what if’s” and being so scared of the future that we are not doing all we can do in the present to save our loved ones.

Let’s use an youth (HS) age bullying as an analogy. The argument could be made to ban sports because their is a correlation between athlete and bully, albeit small. So, some ball star picks on a kid. Should we ban sports? Or is the flaw in the bully’s character? Banning sports would displace how many kids who are not bullies? And add to the obesity rates and mental health issues. Similarly banning guns is a pointless endeavor that in my humble opinion would do more harm than good as evidenced in the problematic cuties that are highly regulated. I have a FAFO demeanor. I am armed and when deescalation is not an option and the lives of those I care about are on the line, then you can bet I relish my 2A rights.

In response to more guns = more safety he says "when? 400m guns and gun deaths are going up" yet that argument can be used against gun control. If gun control works to keep us safe, when? The US currently has more gun regulations than ever before, yet by his own words, gun deaths are still going up.

Well Colion's arguments are cherry picked and weak at best. #1 going back and debating what "well regulated" meant is irrelevant for a few reasons, history is not on the side of the new 2A, everyone gets a gun idea. "For over 200 years after the adoption of the Second Amendment, it was uniformly understood as not placing any limit on either federal or state authority to enact gun control legislation," Retired Justice Stevens. The US during those 200 years of precedent regulated guns and who has access to them, beginning at the state level from southern states if you can believe it. It's not until the last few decades did right wing judges push to change precedent, once court ruling in 2028.
Another reality, the 2A is not set in stone, the constitution was meant to be a document to evolve as society and the times evolve. The 2A can be changed or revoked through the constitutional process but no one is even talking about that. The conversation is about responsible gun ownership and keeping guns out of those hands who shouldn't have them but people like Colion corrupt the conversation of responsible gun ownership. Private purchases, gun shows, online purchases, all can be done without background checks and some backgrounds differ. Thanks to Trump since 2016 people with Mental illness can now get a firearm legally where before they couldn’t.
Colion’s camp and his mentality is in the minority, 80% of responsible gun owners want more regulation, law enforcement want more regulation and the amount of gun deaths and mass shootings in the US demand it. We aren’t in fear of the government taking our guns and we don’t really care as gun owners if it takes a little more effort to purchase a gun they point and click off the internet.

Ukraine had gun ban. They in war for awhile now. Now the dummy's are telling citizens they gonna give back. The 2nd amendment was so citizens can protect themselves from this type of bull s. And in case of an invasion from another country like what happened years ago. Thats why countries won't come invade us. Cause everybody got guns. Ukraine ban guns no one had guns. Easy invasion. Besides is guns are outlawed only outlaws will have will have guns.

It’s not that they’ve “removed” background checks, it’s that they’ve prevented people from making them more extensive. Psyche evals, red flag laws, have both been prevented and those are the policies that catch potential bad guys

In terms of the well regulated portion of the 2nd Amendment, it does mean properly trained and disciplined. Constitutional carry does not provide for that. So "Noir" be sure to promote that aspect of responsible gun ownership first and foremost. Then you'll have less pushback from the Jon Stewarts of the world. Obviously registration should be a non starter, but the gun community real should be & can be more responsible. Just do it.

Your argument shows your double standards. You claim good people are being denied guns, yes but if theae good people pass a backround and have taken gun saftey courses they have no problem getting that gim when they do it legally right?? So is this same princible you claim should be imposed at the border you all say they can come to our counrty as long as they donit legally.

Yet we're the only country that has mass shooting problem. After one mass shooting in Australia they turned in their guns. You can still have them but you have to apply. And they don't have a crime problem or a 2nd mass shooting. Just because you can list other ways people die doesn't mean you shouldn't stop other causes. P.S gun owner and pro background, red flag, and magazine limits. P.S dickey amendment made it illegal for federal funds to research gun crimes. Sen Dickey now publicly regretted it
