Tbh its funny how they talk about echo chambers and being played by algorithms and the media. At the same time they trust Musk his actions/character and think Trump is trustworthy.
No i am not a Democrat or a Biden or Harris fan. Im from Europe so i don't care either way.

Well my problem is the people who can’t accept the fact they’re wrong even when there’s overwhelming evidence to prove it. It’s just out of pride. That’s a huge problem. Political beliefs are a spectrum it’s not either or. You can be conservative on one issue and liberal on another. Contrary to what the media and politicians want you to believe.

Yes we’re definitely a divided nation. It’s crazy Jocko. I’m 37 years old living on my own. I’m from Simi Valley, California and I lived there my whole life until I moved to Beatrice, Nebraska 3 years ago. I thought when I moved to Nebraska that everyone knew each other. Well that’s not the case. Beatrice is a small town of only 13,000 people and nobody knows each other. Nobody gets together on the weekends and does anything fun. No Sunday barbecues. There’s no community here because everyone is trying to change the world on social media. I’m glad you talked about this because people need to understand that social media is simply a useful tool that can help brand yourself and also grow a business. If you want your voice to be heard then you have to make it heard in your community. Not on social media. Although, even if you do make your voice heard in your community people still might not change because you can’t you force people to change. Either they will or they won’t. It’s up to everyone on their on own to change and lead by example. If everyone leads by example then America will change and become better.

The fact that this trained killer, that can eliminate an emeny because it's the mission , be composed under pressure and to do it in a fashion to be almost heartless, because it's what he signed up for and it's the mission, to retire and take the training to good for K9s is commendable !! Thanks Mike for all the good you do for dogs !!

K-9 is a lifestyle, as are other things that I cannot discuss by law. I thank God for Syndey Washington (Kingdom K-9 training academy-- 2013-2014 internship) and Joe of Bethel Kennels in Gadsden AL. that took me in and trained me via an internship and my dog Smokey Joe, and Kgosi.
Shout out to AMk9 and Sgt. Tim Miller of weaver police (k-9's. All of em.) For recerts in '17, shout out to Floyd county Deputy Chris Snyder ('18) for seeing how well my dog Riddick and I worked together and for shaking my hand and vouching me. I am glad Jimmy listened and got a full suit for the K-9 training unit here.

Mr. Willink, what I hear you saying is this: listening and being open to recieving (taking in what resonates and contemplating upon ) the respectable personal experience based opinions, and observations of those that have perhaps more experience and knowledge in a certain area of life/work or expertise, and attempting to do better and do different, leads to a more satisfying and meaningful life.

My wife and I work from home. We have 7 kids ranging from 8mo-12yr. . Summer time is crazzyy when they are all off of school. We have a pool, TV, play time outside, tons of toys. I mean these kids have everything they need. A few times they get really disrespectful of us trying to work. I laid in on them about all of the blessings and "things" they have because I work and told them the consequences of me not being able to work. Randomly, my boys will come up to me and give me a hug and say thank you for all of the work you do. Give them the leash, let them learn. Let them fail. I don't set them up to fail. I set them up for success in hopes that they don't deviate but I will allow them to fail and then teach them how/why it didn't go as planned.

Something I appreciate going back and forth between the older podcast and the newer ones is as Jocko gets older. You can hear his personal opinion come out a little more about the direction of the country.
He always had fantastic advice on the individual level, but to see that individual direction placed on a national scale is important

I think MIke means well, but he seemed to draw on pejorative liberal stereotypes (blue hair: like who cares what color your hair is) when referencing attitudes that are ruining the country and ignoring things like January 6th. Still has some way to go, like us all, to be objective and see both sides clearly and be independent. Glad Jocko called him out on things like kids' behavior today, who I've also found to be relatively mature, knowledgeable and insightful.

It's ironic he points out how we should focus on important issues like cardiovascular disease and drug use like the opoid crisis (which I agree with) instead of "unimportant" things like abortion: those issues are big issues in rural/red areas, specifically the opoid crisis where California and New York had regulations like triplicate laws and a population that generally cares about food/health/nature and other hippy things that ameliorates some of the drug/health issues. Red states look down on regulation, but then suffer when companies exploit them because legislation isn't there to protect them, and build car-centric societies and have poor diets.

Anyway, I agree with him that there's tons wrong with the democrat party, platform, and ethos, and welcome his message to thing through things objectively. Hopefully this provides some medicine.

I chalk this interview up as both one of jockos worst yet greatest with so many actual truths.

They are right that we have so much more in common with each other than not. They are right that we need to not worship our leaders, and to demand THRY WORK FOR US.

But Jocko is so deep in the right wing bubble it is downright sad AND dangerous, given the reach of his platform.

If you two jokers had any knowledge of history outside of the military you might know that “blue hair and pronouns” ARE THE LEAST OF THE WORRIES of lgbt people. They are historically marginalized, assaulted, murdered, and have a higher chance of suicide than normal groups.

If jocko ever wants this podcast to have some REAL alternative opinions on it and actually put his money where his mouth is, he should have real experts in these fields on. Not yet another bearded bro who’s taking T in his late 40’s and had an idea while on the shitter during Covid.

No disrespect to the author, in truth the book is mostly good ideas. But we are living in a world where influencers like Jocko are just awakening to the types of problems people have been actively fixing for decades, and attaching their own incorrect analysis to the world based on the same DEEP BIASES they claim not to have.
