"Not guilty due to insanity" is a bonkers law. It should be "Guilty and insane". Sure that person may need treatment and maybe a different facility, but just because you're nuts doesn't mean you didn't murder someone. Insane people should still be held accountable for their actions.

ОтветитьPredators hunt - although they will assault children associated or related with them, mostly they troll around looking for an opportunity. I think Rose probably saw Debbie in the wrong place at the wrong time and grabbed her.
That he went as far as he did, assaulting and murdering her, it's likely there were a series of similar events throughout his life leading up to this one, and perhaps others. These sorts of crimes often start with peeping, or exposing themselves and escalate from there, culminating in kidnapping, torture and assault. It's as if they learn as they go.
At some point we are going to find a genetic or behavioral common denominator which will allow us to intervene before the behavior surfaces. For now the best we can do is keep our children safe and glean what information we can after the acts are committed.
