Loved this game - IMHO I've never experienced a more immersive soundtrack before to since - Happy Days! Thanks for sharing!

Should I go for the CD or floppy version?

Sadly they don't make these type of games like they used to. It's rare to see one jet fighting game come out. It's mostly sports, first person, third person, point & click, etc.

The only time we will ever see an F22 take off from a carrier.

Me and a friend played this, but it took us a long time to be able to land. However, you could still complete the mission. If you parachuted over the airfield and landed on the runway on your return, you would get told off for the loss of your aircraft in the debrief, but if you'd successfully completed the mission you would be congratulated and advance to the next mission!

That music has been in my head for the past 30 years now.

Buddy, how did you managed to turn in game and in mission music off?) Pretty annoying I say. I can't find a way to do this...

Your approach was way too hot. Too much nose down and not enough throttle control. I saw zero flare and you were controlling altitude with pitch, which is wrong. Never use pitch for altitude when landing. Throttle control is what you use to control descent.

Still playing this game um 2021. Love it.

I remember cheating my way through the Ground Attack Training Missions by sticking on Fuel Air Bombs, lol

I'll never forget playing this back in the fall of 1994 for the first time ever........the soundtrack, EF2000, F22 and F117A.

so Nostalgic. course I didn't play it in 1993.i played it in around 2000. I was nine. I loved the game alot. but wonder if this qualifies as 3d. I'm not sure

Eject as close to the ground as possible.. this is the first game i played where you saw blood..

Oh man was I not proud when I finally managed to make proper use of ILS and actually land with a correct AoA and not pointing my plane AT the wires and hope it works xD I guess I'll try my luck with DCS.... when I have a spare 2000€ for a full VR set and an 8k-capable machine :D

Ace combat , Hawx, Arma 3, DCS when ever i fly a jet, it always reminds me of TFX and its soundtracks.

Jet Fighter II (1990), it seems to me, had a much more satisfactory carrier landing experience. It's all about the speed!

That F22 starting from the carrier is ridiculous though.

Still watching. Nice. I still have and play TFX. Really like it. Microproses F-117 too. The TFX soundtrack has been, since 93, a part of my music playlist.

Amazing graphics for the day. Free-look 3D cockpit, shaded aircraft model, weather effects... this game was ahead of its time.

Many an hour trying to nail carrier landings. Tough. Had to get it just right and immediately cut the engines. I remember my first trap. Arrester hooked, full power and kaboom! Plane blew up.

Close call landings :) so this is DiD F22 ADF/TAW (Total Air War) ancestor! great old games.
