Been there and although I am an O Scale 2 railer, I still appreciate all the work done.
ОтветитьHave you been to the model train museum in Gibsonia, just north of Pittsburgh. It is a layout of the Pittsburgh area from the 50s and they are trying to get more area for their layout, hopefully next few years.
ОтветитьIn the end, calling something the Greatest is a Personal Preference.
Me personally, right now (The date this comment was made), I don’t have any Model Train layout, and Even though I really Like trains and I enjoy watching Model Trains, I still have No Models of my own.
I really want to model trains, but the one question is: Should I model UK trains in OO scale, or should I model US trains in HO scale?
personally i would make bridges have a weight limit with custom track so it would break if you put too much weight on it. but it would break in the way you could fix it easily.
maybe with a replacement part or two.
As a kid that always wanted a model train set for Christmas but never got one, this is impressive. I've traveled through Greeley several times but failed to stop off and check out this model RR museum. I'll be sure to do so on my '24 summer trip to Colorado. Thanks for spotlighting this museum.
ОтветитьTrain mountain in Oregon.
ОтветитьAwsome
ОтветитьTry the San Diego layout in MIssion Park, or the one n Golden Colorado RR Museum.
ОтветитьI hope we can view the layout from the engineer's POV some day!
ОтветитьThis is very cool. I think the layout at the museum of science and industry in Chicago is 3500 sq ft. DJ, you should check that one out if you haven’t already
ОтветитьWhy you guys skip to describe the scale of the train model you are showing??? Should I as a newbi knows what scale is?
ОтветитьI went to high school Lakeview Oregon and graduated in 1974. I remember Dave Trussell. My dad was the football coach so we saw alot of Dave around the school covering sports.
ОтветитьAwesome video love model trains, I had a Lionel when I was young, thanks for sharing
Ответитьyou could have just driven a couple of hours to Cincinnati where they have the worlds largest model train display in Mason, Ohio.
ОтветитьThere is also one in Balboa Park in SD. Not as extensive as this one but still pretty good. The should make a vid from the perspective of the train.
ОтветитьThey can use that in a movie and no one would know it was a model ❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьLooks so real thank u for posting ❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьI would venture to say it is the best model railroad in all of North America, not just United States of America. I can not imagine any railroad being better in Canada, nor Mexico. Please find a way to mount a camera to the front, or rear, of this amazing labour of love.
ОтветитьThe interesting part of this railroad is that the whole thing is not based on reality. The real railroad only goes from Lakeview, Oregon south to Alturas, California, not west to Bly or farther west to Klamath Falls.
ОтветитьThis is good but not as good as the one at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. A must see for sure
ОтветитьThe detail is incredible
Ответить"They go through the scenery, not around it." Awesome.
I wish I had the money and skills for a model railroad 😢
Sometimes I volunteer there! Greeley local here. While most of the layout is amazing, the one space that makes me have the most awe is the Staging Yard in back. Just the size of it and the organization of which trains are staged in certain parts are incredible. It really is amazing to run trains on such a layout as well, much more than anyone can ever believe. I hope you found all the Dinosaurs!
ОтветитьNeed to visit!
ОтветитьThat layout is awesome! The Science and Industry museum in Chicago had a great one too. That layout in Chicago used their own unique scale for the track, engines and rolling stock. They had employees assigned just to monitor and maintain them
ОтветитьIf you're ever in Winston-Salem NC check out Southbound Model RR Club. Very nice big layout.
ОтветитьAlso look at Coon Rapids Model Railroad Club near Minneapolis, largest in Minnesota.....
ОтветитьThis is a nice little layout, but for the largest and highly detailed, you need to go to Northlandz in NJ.
ОтветитьThis is awesome! Great video :D
Ответитьvisit hamburg and cry yankees
ОтветитьIt would be amazing to attach a GoPro to the top of a locomotive for a scenic train ride.
ОтветитьWow, really cool layout.
ОтветитьIt’s Bigly!
ОтветитьI'm loving the layout of the train and how the track is going around its almost being in the train enjoying the scenery
Ответитьfunny Mitch Hedberg joke!😂
ОтветитьHave you been to the San Diego Model RR Museum or TrainTastic in Gulfport, MS???
ОтветитьExcellent informative video! THANK YOU for doing this video! 🥹👍🏻🎅👍🏻
ОтветитьOld timer here, and I have to say John Allen's Gorre & Daphetid is the best example of a true model railroad. It was all John Allen's passion, imagination and skill that built it. May need different categories for 'greatesst' - individual, corporate, museum, ...
ОтветитьI discovered your channel today, and this is the second (just started it), and I subscribed. I love how you just don't show the trains going around... Ya, that is model trains. But I love how you show the scenic aspect of this hobby. All that BEAUTIFUL work these people do. It's all SOOOO well done, and that amazing work usually gets overlooked. You show it like what a visitor would look at it. "Wow! Look at this scene... Oh look here comes a train." Cool footage
ОтветитьWhat a fantastic set up !Great video,
ОтветитьGreat looking railroad and I love the mountain scenery!
I am also into rugged mountain areas and have been building a fairly large mountain road for years and recently upgrading my mountain area. (It killed me to rip many sections out!).
I was (and still am) a big John Allen fan., John inspired me since I was a kid and to this day I still enjoy scratch building to scale HO bridges.
My passions for mountain railroading, with steep grades, were all inspired by John Allen and his Gorre and Daphetid layout.
Thanks for sharing this great looking and super detailed model railroad.

Yes this is an excellent HO scale layout and it is certainly very impressive. Do you have any intention of trying to film Howard Zane's layout and George Selios Franklin and South Manchester layout, two very very impressive layouts? Greetings from the Train Lord in South Australia.
ОтветитьNice video thanks 🙏
Ответитьamazing work
ОтветитьHaving seen the Colorado Model Railroad Museum video, it is a great setup of running many trains and the scenery that was made it has to be the greatest model railroad museum for HO scale in the country.
ОтветитьMaybe I missed it..but what scale is this ?
Ответить
