You always have the most interesting theories. keep it up! I would be satisfied if your theory turns out to be true
ОтветитьWe know that zanpaktou can evolve in nature for refinement like yamma. What if her relationship with it was like Renji. Able to use bankai without using the entire skillset. Her zanpaktou is just as you set it up, offensive, using the inert healing for destruction. Stripping bodies but not healing or replacing. Post quincy war, meets the guard, is healed or see's the healing arts, recognizes similarities. By learning healing fully unlocks her zanpaktou but it's still in defiance to her combative nature and meets Zaraki😃
ОтветитьThis really reminds me of a line Unohana says in this battle.
"When two behemoths clash, their blade will either devour or nurture the other behemoth. This blade, in my hand, will........"
This is followed by her death.
It definitely seems like her Bankai had "nurturing" effects on Zaraki.
Interesting theory. Overall the theme of duality is her most intriguing and jarring element. Be it her bloodthirsty serial killer side of kindly angel of life saving, Unohana is memorable all on her own. Her death was tragic even if it was fulfill the objective of Soul Society's defense.
ОтветитьI have never bought into all the theories on the actual nature of her Bankai for a few reasons.
First, I don't believe her personality ever actually changed. She didn't learn Kaido out of a desire to help people; she went to learn it from Kirinji so she could prolong her battles and savor them more. In other words, she learned how to heal for bloodthirsty reasons. Also, throughout the story she repeatedly talks about how the 4th division's purpose is to heal, not that she actually wants to out of a desire to help. For example when in Hueco Mundo with Isane, she is confronted by Rudbornn. She rebuffs Isane when she seems to ready herself to fight, and says that doing so isn't there purpose here. She tells Rudbornn that as well. It seems to me she is wearing a mask; her healing is merely an obligation she fulfills as the Captain of the 4th Division. The fact that she is wearing a mask is also revealed when her bloodthirsty nature leaks out sometimes when scolding others causing them to innately recoil in fear. When Shunsui calls upon her to teach Zaraki The Way of the Sword, he facade falls away immediately as if it was never there to begin with. She also only became the Captain of the 4th Division after she commited her "greatest sin" in causing the child Zaraki to seal away his power; this points to her, despite being a bloodthirsty killer looking for anything in the world to give her a challenge, has a kind of honor she lives by. She doesn't fight honorably, nor does she hesitate to slaughter hundreds looking for someone to truly sate her bloodthirst, rather she has respect for those who can contest her and feels an obligation to furthering the goals of anyone who becomes worthy by stimulating her existence through bloodshed. That makes sense of why she joined Yamamoto too; he was one of the few people in existence who could contest her.
The second reason plays into the humanoid form of her Shikai in the Zanpakto Spirits Arc. While the arc itself isn't Cannon, Kubo did design the art for the Spirits themselves so their appearance can at least be considered canon. Her Zanpakto Spirit takes to form of a woman heavily shrouded in green robes and a hood. This very neatly symbolizes that the form of Unohana's Shikai masks her true self.
My theory is that Unohana's Shikai reflects her dedication to duty: that of fulfilling her obligations to the Gotei and her Bankai reflects her true nature, that of the bloodthirsty First Kenpachi. The kanji for her Bankai translates roughly to "All Things' End" which reflects her bloodthirsty desire to kill perfectly. I don't think we actually know what he Bankai does; I do think that if we go based on the Kanji's meaning, when Unohana activates her Bankai she is stating that she will be the end of all things which oppose her causing her sword to bleed, the rocks surrounding her to bleed, and the very air to bleed. What happens after; I hope Kubo enlightens us.
11th comment!!
ОтветитьI believe that the bankai shows a bit more of her true self hence the blood and her shikai is her surface level personality (soi fon's Shikai represents her surface level assassin but bankai is her true explosive self) but there is a case of the rurikujaku stuff to keep up your appearance but Unohana didn't change her zanpakuto on purpose like yumichika but it was due to the facade she put on for so long a time and how she felt she was no longer serving of kenpachi and thought of herself as kinda fodder after fighting zaraki
ОтветитьYou will always be my top content creator for bleach !! Thanks for this yet another great video mate
ОтветитьYeah, it is strange that Unohana, who explicitly stated that she learned to heal simply so she can continue fighting, would have had a healing shikai from the beginning. I agree with the people who mentioned the evolution of Yama's bankai.
ОтветитьWhy u die momma 😭😭😭
ОтветитьWhat happened to the music video you had
ОтветитьMan you're kubo
ОтветитьWhy do I get the feeling she would feed her defeated foes to her Shikai, or heal them to fight them again.
ОтветитьFun fact: People that use "Fun Fact" to start their comments are lame!
Ответить👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Ответить*I believe it is her second Bankai, as she has a stronger one, for she allows Isane to carry it, more like what Ichibei has... *
ОтветитьWell, you could give the name and meaning behind d that name. All zanpakoutou have names which define them more than therelease. You could name them.
ОтветитьShe was killing Zaraki, and bringing him back from death, repeated,y, Minazuki made it possible
ОтветитьWe need to ask Kubo more questions about Unohana
ОтветитьGreat theory first off
My theory is that Shinkai represents the conscious mind, the wants, intent and dreams of a person. Whilst Bankai is subconscious mind instincts needs and desires. The study of medicine begins with deconstruction of the body. One must know how an illness, injury or disease in conjunction with the body.
Unohana Shinkai release incantation of Minasuki is assimilation. To break down and analyze. It fits Unohana kills to find new methods to destroy. Her bloody bankai itself stores the dissolved cells.
In her battle Minazuki makes both essentially immortal refining each to its highest degree. It is a battle where only instincts and desires prevail. I believe when Unohana defeats someone her Asauchi devours its victims. Yet she couldn't devour Zaraki. He never allowed her an opening. Probably for the first time she felt fear she was going to die. Zaraki personifies battle instincts an unrelenting and pure desire to kill one before him.
Yet in becoming a Shinigami he had hide his fangs. He became domesticated a beast in a zoo. That's why he never had Shinkai or Bankai. He wanted someone capable of killing him so he can fight like he used too. Yet every time he was disappointed he weakened himself subconsciously. Then battle became fun for him.
Minazuki bankai also could stand for Carnage Arena.
Didnt kubo said in an interview before tybw that uno once her braids flow she would reveal the real truth of his zanpakuto?
ОтветитьGreat theory
ОтветитьI like this theory
ОтветитьSimplest and most likely answer She had Mayuri alter her shikai to reflect her healing nature.
ОтветитьI think it's fed the Blood of her victims and she may have a Shinuchi (真打, True Strike), and I also thought, she may have had Nozarashi, but became an uncontrollable killer, not being able to handle it. I'm would not be shocked if Zaraki, became a healer
ОтветитьI don’t even think her shikai needed to have different forms… just different techniques. Poison in the right doses becomes medicine. So in theory, if she had an ability to inject her reiatsu into her opponent’s from the start, just as acid/poison… injecting pure reiatsu is the core of healing techniques and shouldn’t be too hard for her to learn for her old venomous fangs to become healing ones. She likely never lost the old acidic techniques, just gained additional ones
ОтветитьYou nailed it because I think the same thing about Unohana. First became one of my favs when she FINALLY showed her true self. It always drove me crazy seeing her so calm and nice. Other times the other Shinigami would get so scared of her when she'd give them a stare and stay silence. We later learned why they were so scared of her and I always wondered how dark she may actually be
ОтветитьI think her bankai is drugs. It puts you into a euphoric frenzy.
ОтветитьWhen I think of her bankai I immediately think of Soifon's shikai and bankai. I think the relationship between and shikai and bankai can be seen as this: a shikai is surface level personality traits or with Soifon's case, she mostly aspired to be a badass ninja or whatever like Yoruichi. However, that was not who she truly is. Her bankai is a big, blunt, weapon because deep down that is who she is as a person. She'd frequently talk out of line and react out of anger and that shows in her bankai.
Unohana shows this as well. Surface level is the healer while bankai is the destroyer. Two sides of the same coin. Different techniques for the same spirit
so unohana now is a marc spector and steven grant? 😂
ОтветитьWhat if she asked Mayuri to Modify her Zanpakuto? It's quite a possibility considering how Mayuri is known for tampering with Zanpakuto, maybe she had broken it like Squad 2 second in command and his Zanpakuto in the filler Zanpakuto arc where Mayuri experimented on the Zanpakuto
Ответитьi don’t think this is a very solid theory, since having sectioned identities is a common theme in bleach [ichigo, kenpachi, etc]. attributing unohana’s dual nature to D.I.D. [split personality disorder] feels like an oversimplification that overlooks the complexity of the disorder and the writing style of kubo.
interesting video though !! keep the unohana vids coming
This is canon now
ОтветитьWrong nerd. Sheath and sword. Sheath contained the big green thing. Her blade was the blood thirsty monster. Sheaths can get enough blood inside the wood to manifest a energy. Sheath is a protector for the blade which goes with the 4th division. That’s real life experience with blades boys.
Ответитьi think the idea is pretty simple, actually.
she likes doing her fights with her sealed form of her zanpakuto, so her sword facilitates that desire by shunting all the "support duties" onto the Whale.
her Shikai turns her Sheathe into the flying whale, while giving her the ability to still fight with her sealed sword. neither the sheathe nor the whale are supposed to be used directly in combat. the healing aspect of the Shikai might have come later, as another support power that allows her to continue fighting while it did her healing duties in it's place.
i think her Bankai just gives herself and allies Wolverine levels of healing. it was a weird application because she was fighting her ally at the only time we saw it. but it still facilitates her love of endless battles with her sealed Zanpakuto.
one other thing that might be interesting is that it might also give her infinite Spiritual Pressure Regeneration, because of how healing works in the Bleach universe, where it restores the Spiritual Pressure and the Spiritual Pressure heals the body.
For me, her Bankai share the same area of effects like Kisuke Urahara's and Shunsui's Bankai that they'll use it when no one is around since it affects neither enemy or ally
ОтветитьA very interesting theory, but if that is the case, then my question is how do the shikai and bankai drastically change their core concepts under this split personality? Assuming she obtained bankai b4 this personal split, how does it basically overwrites the ability before it, or how does it know which ability to separate each personality into?
If she didn't know shikai/bankai before this personality separation, then I can be more understandable about how it reflects on the different stages of the zanpakuto. As she became more divided, these personalities more and more became imprinted onto her sword.
Also with this theory, would that mean Shunsui's zanpakuto drastically changed too? Since he was once a carefree like man who later drastically changed his lifestyle to more of a father figure. B4 the birth of his 2nd sword, did his original shikai have a different ability?
One thing I don't get is why her enjoyment of battle was never shown as far as I know in the manga until she fought Kenpachi for the last time.
ОтветитьGenryusai Yamamoto also went through a bit of personality transformation but his zanpakuto remained the same. Unohana is a kenpachi that is known for her sword arts not necessarily her shikai or bankai. Her zanpakuto serves the function of healing to maintain health in battle long enough for her enjoyment. Almost like invincibility.
ОтветитьBro, seriously, how big your brain is?
It's on point from what I can tell, it does explain so much of what we didn't have a clue about what it actualy meant before this, and it also ties in with Kubo's style of misdirection.
I always thought of this concept in reverse. I've always liked healers and thought that it would be cool if the 7th Kenpachi could heal other Shinigami inside of the mouths of his "pacmen". That's what I would do. 💯😂👍🏿
ОтветитьMinazuki Shikai: stomach acid is used for healing.
Minazuki bankai: stomach acid used for killing.
Firstly I love your theories and the content u make . I also feel that Unohana has a real bankai and this bankai her realeas is incomplete . She is the only one who has her bankai and shikai name that are same. There was no change in her bankai name . I believe her bankai was changed from a more violent form like that of an acid blood to this new form because of an incomplete release. She is a lot stronger than she came off in the fight with Zaraki and it was as if she entered the fight to loose it all to him the tite the position and the identity.
ОтветитьHer bankai is either like the guy in the pink robe where she can with stand the most pain before someone dies but it’s in her favor because she knows the strongest healing Kidos or she’s Baragans Daughter the Queen of death itself
ОтветитьInteresting thoughts. I would add that there is no definite timeline for when the Zanpakuto were created and disseminated, only that they must have existed long enough before the first Quincy war for Yamamoto to have learned Bankai. Given that Nimaiya, like the rest of the Royal Guard, was taken into that squad for his contribution to Soul Society it is heavily implied that Zanpakuto didn't exist when Unohana first earned the title of Kenpachi. Personally I think it is most likely that it was only after she had become frustrated by her fights ending too quickly and committed to learning healing did Nimaiya create the swords, meaning that healing had already become a big part of her when she received an Asauchi.
ОтветитьHas no one asked the author about this?
Ответитьi think her bankai is just simple but were overthinking it.
i think bankai used to be simply the ability to control blood. while her shikai used to be the ability to summon a creature that devours it.
but being bored from being strong as seen with zaraki when hes old because fights end fast since the strength gap, made her search for ways to prolong fights in general in her own way.
when she faught zaraki for the first time she was underestimating him until she saw hes potential. same as zaraki fighting ichigo and seeing hes potential and was itching to fight him again when ichigo gets stronger.
her case she found someone that could satisfy that itch for a fight. and after that learned things that would prolonge it knowing her bankai could finish it quick if left the same way. and learned healing then she finds out she blocked zaraki from reaching that potential and helps him unlock it.
when they fought her bankai kills him as it normally does to anyone but the healing she learned heals him back to life till he reached that potential. and he gives her the satisfaction she craved to find someone worthy.
so simply put her bankai is the ability to control blood and anything related to it hence only bones are left. she learned healing after as a way to weaken her bankai so fights last longer. same as how zaraki uses the eye patch fighting others to prolong fights and enjoy them.
its also shown as she uses bankai as her other hand controling blood and her sword, and when she fights zaraki.
if it was acid then it would affect the surroundings, but her case its only living beings. so i dont think its acid.
she never had a dual personality, she simply found what shes looking for so her being passive is just her waiting since nothing else intrested her. thats why when she fought zaraki it was to the death because nothing else mattered to her.
similar to serious addiction addicts only care about the specific thing and ways to enjoy the thing to the fullest everything other than the thing isnt worth any effort, aka the backline squad and being passive is the best way to achieve that.
her character presents when people reach the top in a catagory they end up bored cause theres no one to challenge. it can be seen in many cases.
I think her bankai lets her physically damage her enemies to any extent without them dying while still feeling pain... That's why zaraki was still alive and continuously fights on their confrontation.. It's for intel interrogation purposes or torturing .... This justifies her capability on enjoying fighting as she can prolong her fights with opponents she decides to toy with
ОтветитьYou're very good at your content, but please improve the pronunce of the names
ОтветитьI don't agree with this theory.
her shikai doesn't have teeth to kill because she is using it for healing, but I think she can also use minazuki offensively and thzt when her shikai has sharp teeth to kill
