I really like this. I am a Hispanic who embraces my roots and have always since I was born. My mom never let me think we are just Mexican. I am so happy she taught me to love our roots because we aren't very admixed as well. Most of Mexico isn't. Especially my father side being nahua and still living on their land they have and knowing their traditions. This is important.

I think besides real warfare it's a reflection of how toxicity involving a third party intefering in a relationship has everlasting damage.

Love is the only way. But sometimes war is inevitable. Sometimes when you fight for something that you love it could kill what you love the most. This song really touched my core on another level. And for all that don't know, she is Colombian, most of the true indigenous were wiped out by biological warfare. They could not conquer the people, they were literally fearsome warriors that had no fear of death. Only fragments of tribes are still in us, but all we need is .00001 percent in our blood and we still won't forget.

Remember The Addams Family Values and those camp counselors did an inaccurate portrayal of Native Americans and pilgrims? I get pissed at them every time, and cheer when Wednesday destroys the play and the camp. I never believed in that Squanto bullshit they teach us in elementary school, even as a kid I thought something was fishy about it. Or how Dontnod had a black actress say in a throw away line the Native Americans welcomed the settlers and broke bread. I thought,"Wow that is some whitewash bullshit Dontnod." Dontnod is a french company who made the Life is Strange video game. The game is ass, by the way they manipulate you to believe that one of the characters named, Chloe Price, is a sweet girl in reality she is the most detestable, abominable, hypocritical twat I have ever seen in fiction and she's on my top list of fictional characters I hate along with James Bond, Cheryl Blossom(Riverdale), and Sharpay Evans. And Emily Cooper from Emily in Paris(Never watched the show, but I know it's problematic).

I am at the point in my life where this song for is a representation of the love I have for myself. "This is my land so don't you come in" hits home now.
