Please dont use safety pins to hold fabric together that you will be wearing. Safety pins are meant to hold fabrics together during a project, not during use. They can break and potentially hurt you and also damage fabric. Instead of using safety pins just sew. Its very easy and will last long

Just in case anyone wants to sew along the edges to "finish" the look (even though it looks great anyway ofc) I highly recommend using a zigzag stitch to let the fabric maintain its original stretch.
