ОтветитьMine quit shifting and it’s flashing in 1st gear but it’s hung between gear and rolling like neutral I’ve started pulling the front case off what do I need to look for
ОтветитьMine will shift up and down while sitting still and rocking but if I go on a short drive it won't shift down unless I turn the key off and back on.
ОтветитьPicked up this Honda rancher 350 four-wheel-drive it hadn’t run in a few years and it had all the old gas and everything still in it so I cleaned out all the old gas out of the tank pulled the carburetor all apart and clean that all up stuck a battery in it and it was in 5 gear and was able get it in 4 but no lower and u could go back forth in those gears but no lower manually I can go from 5 to 3 and back anyway I’ve pulled the electric shift motor and gears behind that look fine I’ve watch a few of your videos and lookin for some suggestions should I flip it up on his ass like you had in that one video to get to that one triangle part with two ears underneath the two clutches

ОтветитьDoc HELP,,,,I have the 2001 350 Elec shift and was working fine then riding in 2nd and will NOT COME OUT,,,took elec motor off and plate holding gears,, everything looks good and operates elec fine , BUT manual shifting will not get it out of 2nd,,,lever springs in both directions and sensor shaft rotates on front of eng, but springs in same spot, Should keep rotating?,,, I feel that the trans has the gear BOUND in 2nd. Is this possible have tried rocking and manually shifting but the level springs both directions but doesn't feel as it is moving any thing but the spring.Could the V style shifter up front be broken but you say it should shift one way and not the other?

ОтветитьHi Doc, I have a 2000 Rancher 350 2X4 ES. It is like this one. Stuck in 5th. I went to my local Honda dealer and bought the manual shifting tool. Still, no joy. I jacked up the rear so I can work the manual shifter and rock the wheels. Still, no getting it out of 5th. Im pretty good with electronics. The angle sensor tested good. I had the correct OHMs from one end to the other. The ES Motor checked good. The motor will attempt to downshift (makes the momentary shifting noise) moves the shaft but still, will not budge. I suspect this little plate is broken. Does the new plate come with the spring that keeps it in the middle? btw, you can short green wire with the red stripe on the starter solenoid control wires to ground, with the key on. Then the bike will start no matter what gear it's in. Take the necessary precautions not to run over something. Cheers from Louisiana.

ОтветитьSup Doc? Lol…just wanted to thank you for your posts. I had this same issue with my 2000 Rancher FM 4x4. That’s exactly what happened in my case as well. Just wanted to add that I didn’t have a 2-jaw puller & couldn’t get the “main” clutch off. So I loosened the change clutch nut & slid it up against the main clutch. That does allow enough clearance to easily get that broken shift plate out. Easy job….thanks again. JC
Mine will not shift using a 12mm wrench on the manual shaft, is there another issue that you know of?

ОтветитьHi i have a 2001 350 tm rancher. The guy i bought it from. Said the shift drum was the issue. Is that a big job? And does it cost alot too fix?
ОтветитьIf you take the 27mm nut off the clutch pack it will let you pull it forward or "up" in your case just enough to get that gearshift arm off . No need to take that first clutch pack off with a 2-jaw puller. !!
ОтветитьHey man I’ve been watching your videos and they are very helpful. I have a fourtrax 300 that will not go into neutral. I thought maybe it was the shift return spring but I just took the stator cover off and the spring looked good. Do you have any suggestions what to check next?

ОтветитьI know I’m late to your video but I’m about to buy a 03 rancher cheap. It’s been converted to foot shift. It won’t shift either. I hope this is the issue. I guess I’ll know when I tear into it.
ОтветитьDo you have anything on the TRX400FA? I have one that will not shift, even if you manually run the es motor, I bought it as a basket case. I'm about to pull the engine and dig in but I can't find any videos on the automatic transmission Rancher 400, there all the 350.

ОтветитьI broke teeth off of the main transmission shaft and war 2 teeth off of the second gear. I'm having a problem putting the gears back in the transmission correctly, because I had to take them off. For the main transmission shaft, if there's any way possible, please contact me, let me know. What gears go where? What washers go? Where thank you
