I used to play a lot of sports growing up and was always one of the fastest so it shocked me when I realized I've lost the muscle memory for sprinting and I can't barely go under 16 seconds over 100 meters without wobbling now😂😂😂 knowing I ran a 13 second 100m in middle school.
So I started working on it and doing exercises like 12x200m and 10x400m repeats hoping to get some speed back and work towards breaking 20 mins in the 5k.
Love this dude. I do his run warmup as a standalone exercise session 😂
ОтветитьAs you get older this speed stuff becomes more and more dicey. I don't think you were being over protective at all when suggesting we be careful :)

ОтветитьHow do ppl get access to tracks like this?
ОтветитьDoes anyone have any idea what kind of therabands to find for the exercises he does in the video? There seems to be a big variation in size and resistance and I'd prefer to get something in the right ballpark.
ОтветитьExcellent video you really speak from your heart,Bravo. About the beard..keep...it😅
ОтветитьKeep!

ОтветитьI just found your channel. It's fantastic. Your ability to speak to everyone from plodders to olympians is amazing. Please keep up the amazing work you do. It's more beneficial than you will ever realise.
ОтветитьMy weekly run includes ThuesdayThershold run, Wednesday Easy Run, Thursday Hill Repeats, Saturday Easy Run, Sunday Long run. So when to do speed intervals.i am training for full marathon.
ОтветитьKeep it. Lol
ОтветитьGreat advice not easy but fun.
ОтветитьWhat is threshold
ОтветитьKeep. Because my wife won’t let me keep mine.

ОтветитьYour accent!! It's Irish / something ?😂
ОтветитьThank you Stephen, great content, so true your advice to any runner. I've been running for 30+ yrs and it never changes, you can only improve at this great sport through self conquest, its such a journey, Kipchoge says " Only the disciplined are truly free", but its not easy
ОтветитьThank you so much for your videos!!! I love all the details and how positive you are
Ответитьshave
ОтветитьKEEP!!!!
ОтветитьGuys, have you ever kissed someone with a beard or a moustache? It can actually be quite painful guys, especially with moustaches. But, I love cropped beards, i think men look great with one most times. So go gently with the kiss, ask your other half if it’s comfortable.
ОтветитьKeep!
ОтветитьHi Stephen, I'm interested in your marathon plan but can I ask; do you do marathon plans for specific times? I want to go sub 3 and need a plan specifically for that. Cheers.
ОтветитьDamn mate... that last 3min with that stone cutter left me teared up... 40yr old and late runner reaching what it seems like a stale point, thank you, I needed that...
ОтветитьI’m 75, have a 10k in 9 days, I’m working on speed every day but that’s relative. I have to be careful not to push too hard. You are right speed kills.
ОтветитьI love your honesty and selflessness, man. All your words come from the heart and sit right at the heart. Well done, and keep up the great work!
ОтветитьKeep the beard! We need more beards on faces in this world...
ОтветитьKeep
ОтветитьDefinitely, shave :)
ОтветитьKeep the beard
ОтветитьSHAVE! 😅
ОтветитьCan you show more examples of speed training and how you train it, because in this video there was no any samples of it, I think it will be interesting to see real workout of speed, not just talking about injury prevention
ОтветитьShave! Might even take a fraction of a second off! 😂 Oh, and thank you for the ideas, I'll incorporate them!
ОтветитьKeep the beard!
ОтветитьKeep!!
ОтветитьKeep the beard . I’m old , so I’m now an ultra runner but loving the speed discourse .

I'm not an Arab but I agree. Therefore, SHAVE :-)
Keep the beard Stephen 👌
ОтветитьI love this, thank you. As someone who likes training like a sprinter, I appreciate your reminder that speed training is still useful for the longer distances. My current aim is to run a sub 18 5k. One day hopefully 🤞🏾I think you look good with the beard, I vote keep 👍🏾
