Homelessness should be criminalized and I’m tired of pretending it shouldn’t. I’m allowed to have an opinion, even if it’s an unpopular one in 2024. If you can’t afford housing, are there no other options!? I was once homeless and found resources. We don’t need encampments outside our schools, we don’t need more drug paraphernalia on our streets, and we don’t need more litter in our environments. I hope that more anti-homeless laws are passed and I’m tired of everyone silencing people just because they don’t agree with them.

Hey just an idea..way to get clean is to keep the drugs out ..good luck but i dont see it happening.. maybe get some rehab people there to help along with the bible thumpers..

I’m not trying to be insensitive but many to most homeless people choose to stay that way. I have substance issues myself but my bills are paid before I let myself indulge no matter how sick I get. It’s priorities and most of these people would rather live outside by their own rules.

Florida's House passed a bill to prevent homeless people from sleeping in public and require local governments to fund homeless camps.. The homeless will be forced into these camps under the threat of arrest. Nazis did the same thing. We are supposed to be a country where all are equal! This is outrageous!

Everyone without kids chooses to be homeless.  It is a choice.  Anyone that wants to works can get a job easily.   Get a roommate and with both working just move a few miles further away for cheaper rent.

I was in Salem Oregon for three days and stayed down in the lil town. The people are so frigin nice there off of Portland. Always smiling and you can have a conversation with them and they don’t act like you’re going to bit them. If you wanna go down there and stay at a nice hotel with great people good restaurant is the Hilton down on SE Commercial Street. Worth it! Portland has a dark cloud over it. Never used to be like that..

In 1987 when I was 20 and already hated Seattle I went job hunting in Portland. The downtown area was messed up then. There was a square block part taken over by juveniles, narrow downtown streets, I had already seen the flatness and sanity of the twin City Metro. As an old man I care less about Portland OR Seattle but to see California rot is sad

We have all the money in the world for illegal aliens, the Ukraine and all sorts of things all around the world! Yet we have very little in comparison for our own unfortunates! Not one penny should be spent on illegal aliens, the Ukraine or anything else outside our country until and only when our own are taken care of! I mean our citizens who have fell through the cracks and are suffering. One of my co workers is working 40 yours a week and he is homeless! Not only that but he is an Iraqi war vet! Yet we have money for millions and millions of foreign nationals, hundreds of billions for Ukraine and other money given out to other countries all around the world! I hear our leaders talking about what it means to be an American and it's who we are to help! But we never solve our own problems. This Iraqi war vet should never be homeless especially when he works a 40 hour work week! Here rent is $2000 a month or more many places a lot more for an apartment. That is before utilities yet our Iraqi war vet only takes home about $1900 a month. How can he stay off the streets? While communism or socialism is not the answer our brand of capitalism isn't the answer either! The ruling class has become more and more greedy over the last 40 years. They have decided like Klaus Schwab founder of the WEF has publicly stated "You will own nothing and be happy!" Essentially we will be modern day serfs! If you cannot live by the fruits of your labors you are a serf! It is as simple as that!

How are they getting drugs without money is the bigger question.

Most of these people actually want to be homeless so that they're not trapped by 4 walls man they need to be outdoors with their dog in the woods near the river when they do mushrooms or fentanyl dude.

My family owns a non-profit with wheeler that farms homeless people in PDX,.. We bring in the drugs to increase the homeless population, and it makes our familes filthy rich. Please keep voting and paying.

Homelessness was up 12% in America in 2023. Airbnb listings, where rich people can rent out their 2nd and 3rd and 4th homes to other rich people who can afford vacations was up 18%.

Duh people! Homelessness is not caused by the homeless and their problems, it’s caused by the rich stealing more and more and more from the rest of us every single year. If you don’t understand that yet, you will when they take what’s yours too.

Homelessness doesn’t exist because we don’t have enough housing to shelter the poor, it exists because we don’t have enough housing to satisfy the rich. AND THAT IS A STATISTICAL FACT.

So sorry Matt that you lost your twin brother- your Dad was the intire reason why you got hooked into drugs not a good man at all to do that to there son's-Drugs are horrible as u know- I have personally never had a drug problem but I have been dealing with people on drugs and still am and its not easy very stressful to do..these people homeless and on drugs all need to be rounded up and place either into jail or then rehabs and then into apartments or tinny homes..there alot of churches and home depos up there to build homes for the homeless..as for that lady talking about roaches in her apartment she needed to clean more sound like and not leave food and trash everywhere to get bugs and to call a pest control to treat the home once a month but druggies dont think about cleaning or calling pest controls so they need someone to help them by law keep things clean when they do get homes..They need inspections for getting a tinny home or into an apartment make sure there clean and sober and drug testing them all but most importantly the cops and DEA needsnto round up alot more then they have been doing for the drugs..big problem all around the USA and other countries sadly..u would still have your twin brother around if it wasnt for them dam drugs..😢 so sad..so mad at your dad for what he put apon u as kids intrducing u to that at such a young age..well at least your heloing otheres now and trying your best to help people in need..keep up the good work.❤
