Not sure if anyone got this feeling, but ARR, apart from being the greatest musician and a great soul, has also become a big industrialist. Like many in the film industry, he could have just shifted to Mumbai but chose to stay back in Chennai. Many big names have traveled to Chennai. It would have brought so much income to the city. Many people would have benefited, including airlines, airports, taxis, hotels, restaurants, and local musicians. Chennai and Tamil Nadu should be very thankful to ARR for reasons beyond music, I guess.

Rahman is a genius composer. But to say he is a great singer is pushing it. I mean the amount of singing talent of this country - rahman is at best a mediocore singer - a good measure of that - no music composer worth his/her salt is waiting to use rahman's voice for thier song. Lets try and be real - a great music composer does not automatically make him a great singer. And to talk of Kadal as filmfare winning movie - please - its one of the movies that confirmed that Maniratnam is wayyy past his expiry date.

pls don't say film dint do well, me watched repeatedly for some reasons like heavenly camera work (red cross on church, I can never forget), soothing songs. Arjun's great appearance, fresh female debut. Only pull back is the routine climax and its dragged, else everything excellent.👍

I still feel song should be separated from film .song should tell the story itself not a narrative .
