The host and the 1st chef were not at all on the same page. The host kept trying to link the dishes to royal culinary history as this is not a cooking show while the chef could add and do nothing else but talk about the recipe itself. They should've chosen someone with more knowledge about culinary history.

I did not know Elizabeth Tudor had black teeth! I do know that her skin was horrible after wearing makeup for days at a time, that apparently had led or mercury in it? That womans life ended because of her lifestyle! Black teeth means they were rotting & eating that much sugar, meant your gut was in poor health. Who knows, if it wasn't for these things, she likely could've lived & reigned for many more years, than 45 years! I do know that healthcare back then was crap, so she certainly wasn't getting the best guidance on diet or habits.

QUERY 2 - WHY, oh WHY does the Christmas pudding need to steam for so very long? Surely it would be cooked through within the 1st hour and the steam would moisten and tenderize it all. Can the pudding be cooked more efficiently in a pressure cooker?
