Snow birds what a wonderful nickname for the royal Canadian jets. Pilots well trained as are thecaptains of the ships that glide over the water. Sky and sea reflecting each other. Great video incorporating the two. Beautiful icons escaping for a moment, the chaos around us. God bless those that serve and the collective goodness of the boat friends

Love seeing the jets flying over the lake. I did that one summer back in the 80's when I watched the Chicago air show out on Lake Michigan on my brothers' boat. It really gives you a fantastic view watching from the lake. This is my first view of the Beatrix. She is a beautiful looking Cargo ship. I absolutely love the views you give us of the ships moving from the advantage point of your boat Mike. That was so cool of the crew to give you a wave Mike. Fantastic views & video Mike! I was able to meet the crew and sit in the Snowbird jets many years ago as an Air Cadet. The planes are originally trainers for pilots in the Canadian Air Force. They now serve an exhibition role. The Snowbirds appear at dozens of airshows each year globally.

Hey Mike, and all the Global Boat Friends Nation, from a hot and humid Bismarck. Was babysitting Grandkids the past couple days, and saw this gem just now, and what a fantastic video it was. It is more rare than hen’s teeth to see the big Lake so calm, plus getting to watch an awesome flying exhibition by those fantastic pilots, plus a great sunset as well! Most videos would stop there, but NO there remains this awesome Lady from the Netherlands besides! And what an awesome Lady she is …. This ship really looks a lot bigger than what she really is, but what a Stately lady she is fully living up to her name. Mike, got to say you outdid yourself on this one! Hey Mike and boat friends. The RCAF put on an amazing flight show. The formations and precision was amazing. What a beautiful looking lady she is, what a spit shine. Sorry I have not been around in a while, had a minor setback, but doing better. Thanks for all you do my friend and now I will try to catch up with what I missed the last two weeks. I read the Snowbirds had to fly a slightly modified airshow due to the cloud cover, haze,wildfire smoke and the incoming storm....to bad it was not a nice clear sky....

Much better than my videos of the air show. Years ago I got to watch the Blue Angels practice while I was on a clipper ship in the SF Bay. Those guys flew upside down so close to us you could see them checking out the girls in bikinis on our boat.

As a proud Canadian thanks for the coverage of the Snowbirds. I think some lackadaisical Canadians forget how talented these pilots are because we get hung up on the age of the airframes and not who is sitting in the cockpits.

I was thinking do all the ships coming and going blast their horn and the lift-bridge returns the favor each time a ship goes in or out of Duluth at all hours of the day and night? Those horns are loud and do they wake people up in the middle of the night if the come or go in Duluth? San Diego, California

Boat Friends, this video really illustrates all the unique perspectives Mike gives of watching ships up in the Twin Ports. It's so much more than just the same static camera views we so often see. Loved the air show, all the boats taking in the views, and of course seeing the ship enter the canal and pass under the lift bridge. Mike, you really make it seem like we are on your boat with you! Nice job as always.

An interesting doubleheader for sure! My fellow Canucks the Snowbirds but on a heck of a show! It's amazing the skill level and bravery of those pilots. And despite my preference for the classic lakers, the Beatrix is an interesting and good looking ship. Her color scheme reminds me a bit of the Link-Belt construction equipment colors, Her horn game is a bit weak though, she has nothing on the Alpena. Good job combining the ship and the jets into one video. Very creative like usual!

The Snowbirds, one of my favorite aerobatic teams. Celebrating 100 years of Canadian Aviation 🎉 I've seen them several times at OSHKOSH.

Wow, a great display of the Canadian air force precision flying.

We used to live only 2 miles out from the end of the runway at Mira Mar air station. In the 1980s into the 1990s it was the TOP Gun naval air school. We went to the Mira Mar air show several times. For one show in the later 1980s a F-14 appeared before the airshow far to the east. The show as about to begin. It was an instructor from the Top Gun school flying a 2 engine F-14 at just under the sound barrier. I / we could see it coming from maybe 10 miles east and low to the ground. There was no sound it was just below the sound barrier.
He flew right over the crowd with not sound at all. Once over us passing he was below 400 feet on the flight line. There was a sudden shock wave, heat wave, and a huge bang of ear breaking sound. I can see why a jet nearing the sound barrier flying over the enemy is terrifying.
Later in the air show a F-14 lined up to take off on the runway. It was the full cornel in charge of the Top Gun school. The F-14 was in the air well before the end of the runway. The F-14 went straight up full power. it broke the sound barrier maybe over 3 or 4 miles above ground. The power of the Navy's F-14 was incredible on display.

They often flew from the Navy air craft carriers days before the ship came back to san diego.
The air wing from the ships would come back days early and leave days after the ship sailed overseas into the Pacific ocean.

The value of all the air craft on the carrier is about the same worth as the entire ship.

This might be my favorite video that I’ve ever recorded! It features an awesome ship from the Netherlands along with some of the most impressive pilots in the world from the Canadian Royal Air Force. They really put on a show! It was also awesome to see the ship pass under the Aerial Lift Bridge. This video offers something special for both plane and ship enthusiasts. And how about that sunset?
