Xbox Series S Vs Xbox One X In 2023! (Comparison) (Review)

Found a perfectly good xb1x for $100. Feels more valuable that it can play physical media compared to series S. If youre just gonna do gamepass and maybe a cod the S is fine but then again.. cod is still releasing on last gen and there's resell value. Tough sell. Xbox sucks 😅

The One S is absolutely pathetic in my opinion.. You can't watch your blu ray or dvd movies. That's why I went for the One X

heres my problem with theses comparisons all of the specs that the xbox one x has are out of date yes it has more teraflops than the series s but the gpu is older than the series s gpu also the series s has supersampling for games the one x doesnt have ray tracing series s does these comparisons need to stop the one x is outdated now

Personally I can get a series S white for about 250-275$ Canadian used but not sure if it worth it over the one X I have

Had a one X but caught a Walmart deal for a series S for $138 so I jumped to the next generation. Both systems seem to be impressive. Can’t go wrong with either one.

So basically, (after my own research) the Xbox one S is just the younger brother to the Xbox One X that is barely any different yet the prices are still both insane on the new and old consoles…. Glad I got a PS5😂

You switch out the X1X HHD with sata ssd and it’s golden. It’s technically more powerful than the Series S but they dont patch older games to push out 120 fps on the X1X. The older console supports 1440p and 1080p @120hz. Rainbow Six Siege csn actually push 120fps provided you dont have "Allow 4k checked."

I am buying a Xbox one X only because I can buy used games or games on disc which are usually discounted instead of buying the game on the Microsoft store which is more expensive, plus the performance of the X is really impressive I've had both X and Series S they both perform really similar so in conclusion I am getting the Xbox one X, the uses series s are still expensive preowned

Those that say a series s over a one x are only trying to justify their purchase. It sucks getting told that you dropped money on a new system that's worse than something that came out in 2017 with 2015 hardware...sucks to suck

i bought a series s, now im buying a used one x so I can play used older games. New games are such massive piles of trash it doesnt seem worth it to me to stay up a generation

Straight up I got them both plus a series x the One X smacks down my series S easily in every game I run on it. Both being used on a lg OLED . Where my S wins is the load time the one X has even been updated to the newer UI just like the newest series. BTW another way my one x wins it has a 4K player.

I have both I would say series s is slightly better not much in it though which is crazy since xbox x Is a older console

To be honest the One x is not as powerful as people think. People who just look at number son paper don't really understand how it works. the one x can play at 4k 30 but the cpu is weak asf! Buying a series s is definitely the better option!

I have an Xbox One X and love it. I only got the S series because of Mortal Kombat coming out. I was afraid it wouldn't work on my One X.

I really dont agree with the conclusion , with the Xbox Series S you will be limited in the future , you will depend on Microsoft to maintain the games on their servers.
The One X , second hand market gets you great deals on phisical games , plus you can change the HDD for a SSD, and you will be hable to watch bluray ;)

Me and a friend of mine are playing Apex Legends and on Xbox one S and Xbox One X we were getting massive fps drops during the game. The game is only playable on 60fps so the game starts in the dropship above the map with 45 fps. You land and get 57 fps and then all throughout the map the fps is dropping very often near 45 fps. That friend recently bought Series S and there are no fps drops in that game for him anymore. So I don't know how to really recommend the previous generation console anymore.

Xbox one X is far better than the series S, graphics are better on one X. The series S just has faster loading times and in some games at a higher frame rate but the graphics are better on the one X.

The series s is more powerful. Yes it has 4 teraflops and the one x has 6 but it’s based on the same architecture as the series x which is much better than the old architecture of the og xbox one, which the one x is still based on. Same with ram, yes the one x has more Ram but it’s an older type of ram, while the series s has the same type of ram as the series x. So with that being said people need to understand that the series s is more powerful than the xb1x. Numbers don’t tell the whole story.

Ive heard rumours from you tubers that they were going to like remove the SS from the market and later Microsoft announced the new SS 1tb. Lol

It was said the Xb1x GPU was close to a RX580 but in practice it ended up being closer to what we see with the 5600xt. It would have been completely passable to have kept that GPU and paired it with the newer CPU because it appears the GPU is much stronger than the Series S. We really did get a great GPU in the Xb1x that was paired with a CPU that wasn't in its league. I see plenty of people who own the Xb1x and the Series S together with both being used regularly.

If you have kids and gamepass just get a one s or one x. External drives don’t play games on a series console.

If you are more of a completionist who is fine deleting games every month then the series s is just fine and probably more reliable/future proof.

Biggest drawback.
External storage expansion. Series s and x cannot play off of an external drive. You have to buy the proprietary seagate drives that cost the same as buying another series s.

When I naught my series x I downloaded games on an external drive for my kids to play with gamepass. None of them will play. You have to delete games off your internal drive and transfer them onto internal storage. This is the case with any series console.

My xbone does not have this problem. You can install a 5 tb drive and download half the gamepass library and play it from the external drive. No problems. Sometimes I have connection errors where I have to unplug my drive and plug it back in but that’s it.
A 5tb drive is like $100 in comparison to a 1TB seagate for the series at $289.

Microsoft doesn’t tell you that this is the problem with external drives on a series console and it’s complete bs. Idc if it loads slower, just play the game.

If one has xbox one S or X already then series S is enough. And even with xbox One you can play Series S/X exclusives with cloud gaming from gamepass... so yet, one is not missing out much even if they would only use xbox One.

Here is my question for Xbox if you are making a digital console, why make it with limited storage space... question can you use an external storage device with it

On paper the one x is more powerful. Series s might not be as good on paper but games just run better. Raw power isnt everything. Series s wins hamds down.

I don’t wanna spend 400+ on a probably 5th or 6th Series X but the Series S is so bad and the One X doesn’t support next gen 2K23 and that’s probably the biggest enhanced game when transitioning. Not playing 4K is a big downside for the Series S too and I need next gen 2K23 and Apex so that’s a lot of space gon right there with that small ass storage space 🤦🏾‍♂️ shits just conflicting. Does Apex go on your internal storage or can you put that on a regular ass hard drive?

I still have and use the og xbox one it's the forza motorsport 6 limited edition i upgraded it with a ssd and I'm still very happy with it

Advantages of Xbox One X:
- More raw GPU power resulting in 4K gaming and often higher graphical settings in games
- Physical games compatibility and 4K Blu-ray drive
- Double the storage
Advantages of Xbox Series S:
- Faster CPU resulting in often higher FPS options in games
- SSD meaning faster loading times
- More future support

They're both really solid but Xbox Series X is the true successor.

I traded my One X for a Series S cause it’s a newer console and it was a straight up trade plus I got $60.00 to boot so I’m pleased besides I had went digital on the One X anyways🙂

I'd say if i wanted to get a new console, it would be an xbox series S because its cheap and you get the benefits of the X/S series which includes more games and better performance!

I bought the Grears of War limited edition Xbox one X. Came with all the digital versions of the games. Also a 1 TB hard drive. Having the disc drawer is a must being able to play my physical Blu-ray, and as you said, buying second hand games.
