Now, now .... why the heck would you convert a MPH to meters / second, confused the heck out of me for a second. The rest is top notch but can you stick to a system (we all know metric would be more accurate, but you figure out your audience I guess).

I don't think Ricciardo is the class of the field. Leclerc, Verstappen, Norris, Sainz are significantly better drivers and those are just the up and comers.

F1metrics mathematical model believes that 2014 was just an underperformance from Vettel given his performances in every other season, rather than Ricciardo being anything special. I tend to agree with that, especially considering Ricciardo was comfortably outpaced by verstappen and Norris, somehow lost a season to kvyat, and Sainz did significantly better against Norris than Ricciardo has at any point so far. Sainz also did significantly better against kvyat (though I will concede Ricciardo did better against hulk than Sainz did, but the overall evidence points to Sainz being a stronger driver)

Probably one of the most overrated drivers in formula 1, I think. His reputation was way overinflated after 2014. Once verstappen passed his teenage years he left Ricciardo in the dust. There's no way I'd consider him even a better driver than Hamilton. Nor Vettel, who was comfortably the best driver in 2015 and 2017 where he took it to the Mercs despite a significantly slower car. Ricciardo's never stood out like that.

New 2022 rules will be awesome for Ricciardo.

Of course, if you take the time to consider all of this carefully, your car will already be plowing into the wall.

I don't like the ethos that you HAVE to brake late to overtake, sometimes it's much better to brake slightly early so you can release before the turn in point and carry more speed to mid corner... really helps if you want to yeet one round the outside without telegraphing your move.
