I appreciate this! I used to think I'd rather pass on a job with an interview process that felt trapping and stifling, but your video helped me understand the reason behind the question and the position of the hiring manager. It's important to see the perspectives of others!
ОтветитьBrilliant!
ОтветитьSuper helpful!
ОтветитьI needed to see this in the morning!
ОтветитьThanks
Ответитьso I messed up. ffs haha. Well, for the next time it is then.
ОтветитьTHANK YOU! Great video.
ОтветитьI get about 1-2 recruiters a day reaching out with job offers and giving me JDs asking me this at the very start without telling me the expected remuneration. I automatically put them in the junk folder.
ОтветитьImagine if the guy that wanted a milkion in cash would have worked out the best. But they'll never know
ОтветитьWhen I get asked that question I say 1 million dollars and bring my little finger to my mouth.
ОтветитьGENIUS!
ОтветитьThis is great advice. I interviewed for a position that was still contingent on government award and was pressed for a dollar amount. At that time I had been out of work for a couple of months and did not want to self eliminate, so I said I would need a base of 80k. The hiring manager took my number and said they were waiting on the contract approval, but wanted me as their candidate. This same job was actually won by a different company and I also interviewed for that position. In that interview I asked for the salary range and was told it would be 105k to 120k depending on qualifications. Nice difference. You can probably guess which one I ended up choosing.
ОтветитьGreat tips Sir! Thank you 🙏
ОтветитьIf they're fishing for a number after I've refused to give one twice, it ain't for me.
ОтветитьIt happen to me once, the interviewer asked me about my salary requirement, and did not give a number, at the end of the interview the interviewer asked me again because the hiring manager will ask for an amount. Next time I will know how to answer, thank you the advice.
ОтветитьWhat would work best if it's only on interview to make the shortlist ?
ОтветитьGreat sir
ОтветитьYour tips , advise and delivery of content is second to none, you are not long winded, you are engaging and easy to follow your distilled wisdom!
Ответитьthank u my dude
ОтветитьGod bless.
ОтветитьThanks for this video! It was very helpful!
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьI actually thought that there must be a long boring speech before the real answer but each second of this video was really informative and useful. Thank you for sharing this video.
Ответитьnice, one of the best questions and a good explanation, I got ghosted by a recruiter for answering this question, but funnily enough, the job I'm at now, I discussed with the recruiter my, existing range, going to a new company as a inc. I got pretty much what was offered which was nice. but this is the exception not the rule
ОтветитьBecause they need a reason to eliminate you...
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьVery useful and helpful info...
ОтветитьI'm not interested salary but I'm interest to business
ОтветитьThis was super helpful. Thank you!
ОтветитьI got asked that question and had no idea what to say 😂
ОтветитьIt was very helpful!!! Thank you!
ОтветитьThis is an extremely helpful channel. Thank you.
ОтветитьSo if one is approached by a company to join them (vs. you applying) for a senior role, how does this answer change? In a case like that, would they be expecting to be paying on the higher end?
ОтветитьHow should you respond if they have already provide a salary range on the job listing description? Also, What if you’re asked to type in a number on the job application when you’re asked this question?
ОтветитьThank you. I rarely comment but your advice is so good that I had to type a thank you note.
ОтветитьOh my god, I did this mistake, went for teaching job😢
ОтветитьAgree
ОтветитьReally nice video... I use to answer asking for a salary range for the position.
They used to give a middle point of their salary range, however I tried to negotiate to reach the top of their salary range and they said that it was not possible so I discarded them because I had another offer.
All in all, this tricky question can produce a counter effect for the company itself.
Nevertheless, in general it's a good question for everyone because on the other hand when a company doesn't ask for the salary expectations and they only offer a specific figure could be a waste of time for companies and candidates.
You are brilliant sir
ОтветитьI am being interviewed for a copywriter role, and I gave them a range that I think they felt was too low based on my (5) years of experience. Now I am here watching, and I feel like OMG.
ОтветитьBest answer I’ve ever heard by far. Thanks for posting.
ОтветитьI get eliminated from the first time 😂😂
I couldn't know that it was a pitfall
What do you do went you have to fill out a form application asking for your desired salary?
ОтветитьHR employees are pricks. They act like they are millionaires and own the company but when in fact they are working people also. Here in Brazil, now that the unemployment rate is huge, they treat people like garbage.
ОтветитьOnline applications make this a required field. How do you prevent from getting eliminated this early on?
ОтветитьYou gave me help I didn’t know I needed 😊
Thank you 🙏
This is a great one. A good idea. Thanks.
