How can you tell what year of manufacture by just looking at the first number of the serial number. Example if the number starts with a 3 how do you know if it’s a 1973 or is it a 1983. Thank you I’ve enjoyed your channel
ОтветитьIt's been real nice going through these videos. One thing's for sure, so many good choices everywhere over here in the Philippines for vintage Seiko watches lol. Most if not every watch tech here knows how to service a Seiko. Cool that you have a friend from here sending you some good pieces.
ОтветитьEpa amigo te felicito por tu colecion de seiko
ОтветитьMay i know where do u source the crystal glass. Thank u
ОтветитьMate, your vids have been a great help with fixing my beloved seikos, mostly divers, but the square dx in blue is awesome on wrist. Guess what i just bought? Never wouldve considered it before watching these 3 vids. Thanks mike, opened my mind.
ОтветитьHi there, how much did you buy one of those in average especially the square type ?
ОтветитьI like 👍 the second watch over, up front (from left to right). It looks so much like 👍 a Lorus watch I bought around mid 1984. My Lorus had a blue dial, luminous hands and dial markers, day/date feature, and a glass crystal. It had a black rubber wristband. Your friend, Jeff.
ОтветитьIt seems like you are very loyal to Seiko, but in this period, other Japanese watch company were also competing with Seiko and many beautiful watches.
You may have a look if you already haven’t .

ОтветитьI watched the whole thing.
ОтветитьLove your vintage watches…. Subscribed. Watching from the Philippines 🇵🇭
ОтветитьYou are definitely right about blue dials! They always win :-)
ОтветитьI just spent a chunk of my afternoon watching all of these videos. I absolutely love Seiko watch design from the seventies. Some think they're funky or retro, but I think they're straight beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing.
ОтветитьDoes anyone know how i can open up my 6309-5030? I tried a lot, but i could't figure out how it works?
ОтветитьThank you Mike a great trilogy of Seiko history I have a 6309 5060 which was my father in laws time piece no idea the value but a gift to pass on to my son
ОтветитьAll Seiko.... you got any non Seiko?
ОтветитьThe green one you got on ebay, I got one in my collection in blue with an original leather bracelet. 😉
ОтветитьThere's something about watches that makes me feel safe if that makes sense
ОтветитьWatched all three videos one after another and as always a enjoy watching your videos always really good
ОтветитьI watched the whole 3 parts, you got a very nice collection men ! 👍
ОтветитьI "made it" all the way through! Nice collection, thanks for sharing!!
ОтветитьS ok
ОтветитьI really like the 6119-5440 as the dial reminds me of Star Wars going into light speed with the stars as the indices stretching and giving a cool effect. Thanks for your videos! The 70s sure had groovy far out designs that are still remarkable today as they stand out and make you take notice. It is awesome that you can bring them back from poor condition to the great condition they are now. Oh and I did watch all 3 videos. I particularly liked the brilliant electric blue from the 2nd video.
ОтветитьAwesome watches man! Love Seiko
ОтветитьI have a seiko watch, seems vintage, got confused what exact decade from, thanks for the inspiration. More power.
ОтветитьWhere could I buy a men’s seiko watch from November 1986?
ОтветитьHi just watched them all , I have a few (3!) 5s . Good videos lovely collection . My favourite is a blue 1972 with a slight problem the clasp is really long and doesn't sit well on my wrist , is it possible to bend them without caus issues? The bracelet is really unusual and I don't want to change it ! Regards Will
ОтветитьYour 6119-5460 is very interesting. I have my fathers 6106-5529 which is a DX model from 73. Same case, same dial (but all gold) but different movement. Mine is all original and the bracelet is folded/pressed and your looks to be solid links. So odd, the 5 model had a higher jewel count movement and a solid bracelet, yet the DX line was positioned above the 5's in terms of pricing
ОтветитьCara vc tem relógios pra caramba
Ответитьwhat's funny with these watches is that they are more beautiful than new models but they are more obsolete than the new ones. i mean obsolete in terms WR and quality bands. they really were made for "use it and throw it when it's dead" people. new models look horrible but they are tougher and good WR. i would've loved to see old Seiko 5 watches with good WR and better bands. they simply would be the best. even more when you can find some with 6119 movement. i'd like to see Seiko make audacious design like back then again. i feel like we had more choices back then.
ОтветитьI am going to add to my collection of Raketa vintage watches with the handwinding 2609 ha movements. They do bizarre TV shaped watches with unusual dials. They are cheap, reliable and easy to regulate and fix.
I prefer handwinding over automatics that don't handwind like the Shakeos you are showing there.
Still with a Hardlex chrystal on those two divers. Shame on you Seiko.
ОтветитьNice watch collection
ОтветитьI really like the hexagon watches. Great job. Thank you for putting then on the wrist.
ОтветитьI’m a blue dial fan as well, I wonder if it’s because it contrasts so well with steel?
ОтветитьNice Watches!!
ОтветитьWhat can you tell me about a Seiko Motorcraft watch ? Thank You.
ОтветитьThanks 😊
Ответитьhi do you know anything about seiko 7a28 6020 or how much it is worth today i own this watch cant seem to find much info about it on the net
ОтветитьThat 7006-5000 is a stunner! Good luck with the case back. In fact the last few are all great, really interesting how they all show that 70s vibe in a different way. Cool collection!
ОтветитьI have just bought a Seiko 6119-5400 which dates from December 1971.
You have a great collection.
Hi,
Ref your 7006-5000 try supergluing a nut onto the case back to get it off, once released use acetone to remove the nut.
I found a Seiko Bell-Matic 4006–7010 at an estate sale for 3 bob! It's a 27 jeweler from 1968 and runs like a champ. All it needed was a tidy up and a different band. The band that was on it was a broken Speidel, so I was watching your videos to see what Seiko bands are out there; although I didn't see any of the rice or coffin link types. I've got a citizen band on it now that looks well enough.
ОтветитьYour passion and talent for working with watches is inspirational. Thank you for sharing. I am a lover of vintage seiko as well.
ОтветитьHi mike, new to your channel (subscribed)I have a seiko bell matic, everything works, however, the day does not align correctly in the box, I have taken it to a jewellers and they say it’s probably one of the teeth have broken off,and also say that parts are obsolete and can’t be repaired, would you say this is true in your experience? Kind regards,Dean
ОтветитьI've watched 1, 2 & 3 of the Seiko Series. Good on Ya.
ОтветитьLike I said you have a lot of beautiful watches and I think that you should do more of these videos and show us even more beautiful watches!!!
