Roll my eyes. This ain’t news. We all know carbs high in fiber/low calorie are a no brainer. Combined with healthy fats and lean meats. OBVIOUSLY you can eat a lot and not worry about calories. Duh.

Well duuuh! For anyone who has ever tracked their calorie intake they should realize that eating one slice of dominos pizza or cake, pretty much takes away an entire full meal that would actually make you feel full and satisfied and no one ever stops at one slice. The tricky part is knowing what foods you can eat way more and others to avoid while trying to lose weight. Even some of the so called “healthy foods” can be very calorie dense and therefore not be very good for weight loss.

The best diet is two dense meals a day with no restriction of calories or carbs. Eat them when need energy like breakfast and late lunch.

I was on this exact diet also, but i never ate fruits except for some canned pumpkin from time to time (yes its a fruit) with the good cinnamon and high fat plain greek yogurt sugar free . I did also a late night snack of chocolate 85% cocoa or higher with almonds, pecans and/or walnuts, black berries. No starchy veggies/root veggies processed meats and certainly not sugar or booze. (i did have beef jerky and kabassa from time to time). Canned sardines bone in skin on in spring water and beef liver are super are cheap and excellent in nutrition. All the protein i ate were mostly Grass Fed and at he very least Free Roam. Cheese, eggs, bacon anything green also is also great meal. But you have to keep the carbs down, and the good fats high.

i went from 235 down to 167.

I just eat grass fed beef, local farm eggs, organic fruits. No veggies needed. Leafy greens have high amounts of oxalate crystals which is a defense chemical mechanism and natural heavy metals in the soil and not to mention all the chemicals they spray on it so the animals won’t eat it. Grass fed beef. Eggs. Fruits. Honey. Maple syrup butter salt. All you need for your diet.

Hey Thomas, I think we all need a video with an example of what a month alternating calorie restriction and calorie dilution looks like. Could you please make that content for us? It’s kind of hard to visualize it from this explanation alone… thank you!

That approach really works. I lost 10 kg of fat without counting calories and without hunger in five months. It works really well but most people are unwilling to do so because you need to stop eating or severely restric eating many things that taste great for life. No sugar, no ice cream, chocolate, pizza, bread, pasta, fatty meat, cheese, deserts, nobody wants to do that.
I really don't want to get morbid obese so restricting good tasting food to avoid obesity is a trade off I'm willing to make. Lucky I do enjoy veggies, fruits and meat.

Vegetables are not nutrient dense this is fucking propaganda bruh meat is nutrient dense. The reason you want to eat vegetables is because they are filling and do provide some nutrients but they are not dense. If they were actually nutrient dense you’d have a whole set of other problems, too many nutrients which of course can be just as bad as bad if not worse than having not enough. Stop the cap.

How is this not dieting, Thomas? You are changing what you eat and losing weight.
This is what the book, Volumetrics was about.
The volumetrics diet was first published in 1999, and it is all about changing your diet to a base of nutrient dense but low calorie foods.

This IS dieting, Thomas.

Diluting with protein might work for some people, but the easiest way to achieve this for those of us who don't get 200+ grams of protein a day is with.... cheap frozen steamed vegetables. I like the California blend of broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots. Toss a good creole spice on them and add them into your more portion controlled protein, carbs, and fat to make a power bowl. Incredibly filling, and even if you're adding a whole bag each day split into 2-3 meals, it's like $1 per bag from the frozen section. Cruciferous/brassica give you tummy troubles? Swap in whatever fibrous vegetable that you can stomach. Other veg that is good for this is green beans, pepper/onion blend, sugar snap peas (whole pod), or even stuff like crunchy baked kale or seaweed sheets. When I toss this in and cut my carb portion in half (or omit it entirely), I'm just as satisfied as I would have been with a full carb portion.

Diluting with protein in power bowls could be achieved with an extra scrambled egg, canned chicken or tuna, or even something like unsweetened greek yogurt to act as a binding sauce.

Hi, I have 2 question about alternate day fasting:
1. Do I need to "compensate" the protein that I didnt ate while fasting 36 hours in the next or prior day?
ex: If i eat normally , I'll eat 150 grams of protein per day , that means 950 grams of protein per week
If I'm doing alternat day fasting, lets say I eat 4 days, do i need to eat 950/4 grams of protein per day or do i need to keep eating 150 grams in those days
2. How much training should you do to prevent muscle loss while fasting? Do I need to train to failure or just to train almost every muscle in my body?

Watch the show "Alone". Trout, grouse, rabbit, reindeer moss, and berries. Low fat, low carb density. They lose a pound a day. "Alone Diet" at home... just eat lean chicken and fish, along with cranberries cruciferous vegetables peppers and onions. Those vegetables are calorie poor and would be similar to the cellulose.

This is great but let's stop calling fiber "nutrient dense" food. Yes, it creates satiety, but that isn't the same as nutrient density.

These findings and this information isn’t new. Dilution is just a new term/ concept. Irrespective of the discipline, I’ve found that until you begin to extensively research a subject, you can’t adequately research it or understand it because many studies will not be found as have words and terminology not used today. There’s significant research on low GI and nutrient dense foods for weight management. The concept of starch solution is based on this idea.

Theres 3 statistically significant relationships found in many historical studies (though continued to be researched today under new terminology): (1) fibre and feelings of fullness, (2) processed food, insulin, and ghrelin, and (3) food palatability, energy density, variability and calorie consumption.

Please don’t suggest this information is new, it’s not.

This reminds me of the Slimming World eating plan in the 1990’s. You were allowed to eat as much as you like of certain foods, I did really well with it back then. They changed it a few years later and I couldn’t stick to their new way. Looks like they were onto something, shame they changed it the way they did!
