It's so great to see a kid whose parents support his musical endeavours. I had to wait until I was 17 and for my entry into the workforce full-time before i could even afford a guitar of my own. And even then it was a secondhand Aria acoustic that cost me $35. I only earned $25 a week back then and had to save up to buy it. My band used to go to the Battle of the Bands every time they were held and we were competing against high school kids with Fender, Gibson, and Ibanez guitars, while we were playing Coronet and Hofner shit-boxes.
