For around 100-150$ this would be ok if it came with a sheat.
I got to test a busse gemini and it was just vastly outperformed by my skrama.
I know a few people that send their blades gor analysis to see what INFI was since Busse won't release the composition of their steel. And technically its not their steel, its a steel that already exists but they perform their custom version of heat treatment. The people claimed the results came back indicating their steel is either A8 or A8 modified. If thats true A8 is a very tough steel, but almost no one uses it in the States. One custom maker used it Tom Johanings years ago, and he was the only maker I could find. Few Italian companies use A8. I found some specs on it. It shows that at 59rc it has a charpy impact value of 160 joules or 118 foot pounds. For comparison Cpm 3v at 59rc has 100 joules. A2 for example at 60rc has charpy impact of 40 foot pounds. 5160 has a charpy impact of 85 foot pounds at 58rc. S7 has charpy impact of 165 joules at 56rc. So A8 is basically at the level of Shock resistance steels. Just some basic info if you guys are curious.
ОтветитьPlease review Fusion War Train from Busse
ОтветитьBusse knives are highly overrated, extremely overpriced, and, IMHO, INFI steel isn't all that special. It is very tough, but, I own an Lt Wright SOSPES made out of O1 tool steel and less thick than my two Busse knives (Gemini & Steel Heart - both INFI Steel) and the O1 outperformed the INFI in every aspect of testing, including toughness! What's more...the Lt Wright was 1/3 the price of a Busse...
Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing them cause i do love my Busse knives and they come in awesome designs. But, if you want to test the toughest knives on the planet, then you have to get a Miller Bros Blades M-8 made from Z-Tuff steel! You may have to get a 2nd mortgage on your house to afford one though...!
Anybody that spends that much for a knife doesn't need one, they need a head shrink.
ОтветитьIt's just properly heat-treated A8mod.
And yeah, A8mod is a good steel.
I don't get it... why can't you say, "where the big nick is"?
ОтветитьI have to be honest I thought most of the INFI stuff was a bunch of BS until I actually used it cutting old logs that were as hard as rocks. It is amazing steel.
ОтветитьDose anybody else go back and watch older episodes and rewatch the videos you really enjoy? This is at least my second time watching this video. Lol.
ОтветитьMany moons ago I literally cut the door off a Nissan pathfinder by beating a basic #7 through the hinges. Probably 3/8 mild steel x 4. Busse always has and always will make the toughest choppers. I eventually broke it but I was determined. Took years of substantial and unnecessary abuse well beyond what any knife should be expected to take before it happened.
ОтветитьIt’s similar to A8 mod from what i heard.
Ответитьwhat a clickbait, its about unkwon knife that is made from unknown steel, that can not stay sharp and can destroy meterials from unknown metal, and split logs that has no knots in it.
ОтветитьI want the busse SHFFNMMNABM SH
ОтветитьBasically a thick piece of 14C28N
The nitrogen makes for a rust proof almost elastic steel.
1095 like most non-nitrogen steels has a harder but more brittle edge.
Carothers Performance Knives has a video chopping nails in half with their Delta 3V
Ответить5160 steel
Ответитьtops is the winner it's a much better deal.
ОтветитьSeems way tougher then the beloved Fallkniven!
Ответить"Busse Custom knives undergo a deep cryogenic treatment at over 300 degrees below zero. This deep-freezing of our INFI steel to 300 degrees below for a prolonged period of time stabilizes the microstructure of the INFI. Just as retained austenite is transformed to martensite during the tempering process, the same change occurs during the cryogenic treatment.
Our cryogenic treatment improves the mechanical properties of INFI like hardness, wear resistance, toughness, and resistance to fatigue."
According to one of the scientific studies, 8670 is one of the toughest steels on the market (It holds an OK edge). INFI steel is implied to have a few formulations, with the latest formulation being a common steel alloy. I said "Implied" because the steel formulation is officially unknown, what we know is done by 3rd parties (I think it is more of a heat treatment procedure).
ОтветитьSorry I can’t stand the music .
Ответитьthats why rivets are not to use on a big outdoor knife so as carbon steel
ОтветитьProprietary is BS
ОтветитьWas swinging down on a branch and my Infi glanced off a rock, the edge chipped.
Ответитьinfi, a more rust resistant 52100
ОтветитьSend me a awesome knife damnit best steels I got are d2 1075hc m390
ОтветитьI have a CGFBM and I have battoned the steel bolts off the door of an anderson air raid shelter I was helping clear from my parents garden (UK). It is bullet proof.
ОтветитьYou got splashed in the eye? That's what Mikkies mom said
Ответитьwhat blows my mined is... Zero advertising for Busse... like wtf? I had to look at Daryl's knife from TWD and think to my self " what kind of knife is that?" to fined out about busse... Waited 10 years to finaly pull the trigger on a $500 dollar knife and once i held it i felt as if i ascended to a higher plain... Busse is the only knife im willing to buy now.
ОтветитьI have a similar knife to this one, only thicker and a bit bigger. It is like a tank in your hand, an ultimate zombie apocalypse knife. Model is called Fat Fusion Battle Mistress, and I am having a really hard time putting it up for a sale because of how amazing it is. I could sell it and buy like 3-4 awesome big knives, but I just can't let it go. It is no longer made anyway.
ОтветитьTOPS knives perform very similarly using just 1095. That’s why I prefer TOPS over Busse any day.
ОтветитьThank you for this video. I would really like to see, or at least get your feedback, or a comparison of this steel “INFI” compared with Magnacut steel. If you do not feel like doing a comparison video, will you PLEASE tell me your thought comparing both steels? Thank you, I anxiously awaiting your reply.
Ответить@DBK PLEASE DO A VIDEO TO HONER JOEX IT’S UNACCEPTABLE THAT FREE SPEECH IS NOT OK WHERE SHOULD IT LEAD AT THE END SLAVERY?
Ответить🔴Most comments have people who never had a Busse knife. Busse are top knives. 🔝🔥
ОтветитьBen Afleck and Mat Damon?!? Is that you? Doppelgangers?
ОтветитьThere are cool knives. I just feel they are overpriced considering the steel used. I would not turn one down if it was gifted to me.
Ответитьdont know if this specific busse is the one with legendary status but i know the team gemini is definitely one with a legendary status from busse. pretty much just an overpriced ($1000) knife with its justification being that it was used by daryl from the walking dead.
ОтветитьYeah MYSTERY steel from the united states of Murca... The land of conspiracies and wild claims. If something is a good product, or top quality. Then its A: Just fake, or its B: Not American.
ОтветитьI thought chromoly was the most super steel ever. Unlike S7, you can quench it in water then use it to chop concrete.
ОтветитьTough knife to be fair
ОтветитьWe know the compositions
ОтветитьI would spend the bread on this knife no questions asked. The product clearly speaks for itself. Honestly thinking of selling 3/4's of my knives now in place of one of these
ОтветитьHi, on what angle was that Ken Onion set during sharpening?
ОтветитьWhen I was younger I was so hooked on Busse knives 😂 I thought there steel was black magic
Ответитьt.i. BS you have to pay if you destroy it, This means you will not go full blast on it?
ОтветитьSo what if a knife was not hair popping sharp after you started using it, but was sharp enough to keep cutting stuff? And then on top of that didn't chip roll and crack or break? Like you're cutting and it works and you didn't have to be careful with it and it kept going? I had that: Bark River knives The Forester a drop forged N690 steel chopper whomping knife! It wasn't full tang. It was a honey badger knife!!! Broke some "rules". I'll never look down on N690, that's why I wanna see Spyderco do some big or heavy knives with SPY27! Like if powder Metallurgy version of 154 CM is noticeably better than why wouldn't a powder Metallurgy version of say VG-10 and N690 be even better? I was more interested when the knife in this week's video yesterday was N690
ОтветитьGreat show and great data.
