I identified with his character because my name is Mark, and I was similarly nerdy.
As for Edie McClurg, I recently watched a reaction to the original movie Carrie, and I had totally forgotten that she had been one of the girls at Carrie's school.
Randomly jogging my memory about the Hogan Family show, I came upon this interview and figured I'd watch for a minute or two. I couldn't stop. Jeremy Licht is fantastic company. It was interesting to hear about those stars being discussed, but I would be happy to spend an hour listening to Jeremy talk about his cousins and neighbors. The guy's awesome. He reminds me of my favorite poker buddies over the years.
ОтветитьI totally bought Jeremy and Danny as brothers. I also remember the transition from “Valerie” to “The Hogan Family.” It was weird for about ten minutes, then I shrugged and said “Whatever, it’s a sitcom.”
ОтветитьI started really following tv in the early 70's. About the only way to find out about tv news was TV Guide. There was a yellow page and it had all the latest news about the tv business. Every Tues. after school, I would go buy the new issue. The only other way to find out about show business news was Rona Barrett, on Good Morning, America and she had a bunch of magazines.
ОтветитьOne of my favorite coms thanks for the memories threwwww the years——- O ,mark ,but ,Willy gets to do it
Nice interview and a nice man! I look forward to part two.
ОтветитьGreat interview. I'd love to hear more about his time on the show and life in Hollywood. I will definitely check out more of your interviews.
ОтветитьThanks for this interview! The Hogan Family was one of my favorite shows growing up, and Mark was my favorite character. Glad to see Jeremy is doing well!
ОтветитьWe. Want. Ponce!
ОтветитьHe was a popular 80s crush back in the day. Wonderful smile, cute, and charming. Seems like he turned out to be a great guy. All the best to you and your family Jeremy.
ОтветитьThis was a really good interview. Liked and Subscribed!
ОтветитьLoved this show at the time growing up. Great show!!! Great interview also, really made my day!!
ОтветитьThis was perfection! ❤
ОтветитьSandy in Wheat Thins commercials, I fondly remember. She did an episode of the Six Million Dollar Man. And played herself in an episode of the classic Scobby Doo. She did many things and is still remembered. Wonderful person.
ОтветитьI liked the show with sandy duncan more.
Ответить152nd Great Interview! as a Boomer 65......I loved that show and Valerie Harper, I really think IF that show would have continued on...and there was never any FRICTION ...it could have become a REAL CLASSIC ....I watched all the iterations - Loved the Intros and its SONG ..the potential for greatness was there....... and Jerermy was so damm cute on that series .....as far as casting / and Im a stickler for it.....they did a good job / the jelled well together visually ............one of the worst family castings for a comedy I remember was the Bonnie Hunt show
ОтветитьI met you and your brother on the Hogan family show set in the Paris vacation episode.
Also got my picture taken with Sandy Dunkin.
I can't remember where the scene was taken place.
I think it was in front of the Eiffel Tower...
He looks great! It depressing when you see your childhood aging and I didn’t feel that watching this.
ОтветитьThis guy is very thankful for Valerie because her show changed his life. From what I have heard Valerie was hell to work with. Her husband would bully people around on the set, and she they both thought they were better than everyone else.
ОтветитьHarper never counted on batemans popularity to carry the show
ОтветитьThis is an amazing interview ❤ The Hogan family is a gem and Jeremy seems lovely
ОтветитьMark was hilarious on hogan family
ОтветитьI'm Thumbs up number 400! WEEEEEEE!!!
ОтветитьGrew up with this as a Gen X.... Loved this show. Great interesting interview also!!
ОтветитьI loved watching this interview. I'm glad it popped up. I loved Valerie/Hogan Family. Jeremy seems as likable and relatable IRL. I only wish we heard some things he might be working on now or is thinking about doing.
ОтветитьEven when Harper was still on the show it was becoming clear Jason Bateman was the show's breakout star similiar to Michael J Fox on Family ties. That had to play a part in producers thinking they could do the series without Valerie. Bateman had starred in the show Its your move one year before Valerie. If Its your move had been picked up for a second season he would not have been avaible to do Valerie. It could be argued Its your move getting cancelled played a part in Harper getting fired from her own show.
ОтветитьThis is so cool. I always enjoyed his performance.
ОтветитьMust've been huge Run DMC fans as they really didn't get big until "walk this way" in 1986. If your break dancing it's good music to use.
ОтветитьMark Hogan had one of the best Mullets of the 80s.
ОтветитьThank you and Jeremy for this! Watching the show growing up, I wanted to be Jeremy's character Mark - I think I even bought a blue sweater to look like him lol . It's so cool seeing this now 35+ years later!!
ОтветитьI just watched TZ a few days ago and decided to check in on Jeremy and here he is! What timing! So glad he’s doing exceptionally well. It’s very refreshing to see one of the good ones is still one of the good ones. ❤
ОтветитьAt that time they were trying to match the parents with the kids? Like playing his brother looking like his tv mother and Jeremy looking like his dad!? Same with his Jason Bateman. Then Sandy Duncan becomes a member of the cast. The show became a hit all over again.
ОтветитьI forgot about this sitcom.
It had a few incarnations but had a good run of five (?) years?
I forgot Jason Bateman was also a child actor.
My gf is an old friend of Jeremy's wife from high school.
ОтветитьHis girlfriend the last season would go on to be on Melrose Place
ОтветитьI don’t even remember why but I really disliked Valerie Harper
ОтветитьI remember when Steve Witting came to my town for some festival, and the local NBC affiliate made him do some ridiculous ad saying everytime he’s in Monroe, LA he watches KTVE (it was probably his first time there).
ОтветитьI remember him in the twilight zone very clearly. Of course, all of that crap is directed at me, so...
ОтветитьI was 9 YO at that time & Mark was my favourite 😊
Ответитьas a kid monday nights would watch the hogan family then right after id switch to prime time wrestling with gorilla monsoon and bobby the brain heenan
ОтветитьMan! This is fantastic! Loved everything he was in growing up. I’m 50 this year so his work in the 80s was everything kids liked! Glad to see him doing well
ОтветитьI remember the Hogan Family! I havent thought of this show since back in the day!
ОтветитьJer is the best! Love from your old “ boy blue” from the Poker Garage on mockingbird lane!
ОтветитьI loved this show! Great interview!
ОтветитьWow, what happened to Jeremy. He looks so different
ОтветитьLove that you taped in fabulous Cinerama!! ❤❤❤
ОтветитьJason was on Little House on the Prairie.
ОтветитьDid killing off Josh Taylor from 90210 have anything to do with him needing more time for his soap days of our lives?
And I take it that's why Josh was never in Hogan family that much cause he was on days of our lives.
