If I were you, I would use a powder guide coat, wipe the ENTIRE interior, then work you way through the boat. That way you won’t miss anything.

takes about 3 sweeps prime sand fair sand ,prime sand fair, amd sll the de dusting. wipe down to get a top notch finish ,but its well worth it in the end ,a bad paint job can undo all the work you guys have done last year or so, as demoralising as it is you gotta stick with it and get a good paint finish ,this is the time you realise the enormity of the work involved but look at what you done and achieved its totally Incredible and way ,way, beyond your average person,,,SALUTE

Squeegee on epoxy resin no micro. That will get rid of your pin holes. Light sand after.

Looks good. That,s the idea with hi build primer. It show all the imperfections and makes correcting much easier. It,s going to be very nice! Uhh pinholes a new technique for dealing with those is sand back and just a thin coat of thin epoxy squeegeed on. Another coat of high build and most will disappear. That comes from airplane building!! Things like the cozy or long e z .

A quick observation,
You are sweeping your gun. Try to keep your gun 12" to 18" away and ALWAYS straight or facing the surface. That should eliminate most of your issues. Oh, start spraying off your surface or past your starting spot on the surface. That cuts spatter and runs.
You're doing great.

It's funny how thew mixing steps look so much like Breaking bad out-takes, but when that white hits the primer, oh man, what a feeling you must have gotten out of that!

Those pesky runs! GAWD! I hate those lil buggers. (an you thought you were done sanding🤬) dont worry if you just add a very slight bit of some different color with each coat it will be much easier keeping track of where and how much primer you got where ya got it. I’m glad we are at the priming stage, I was soooo tired of sanding and my arms are tired!
Remember chartreuse green is NOT the right color for a boat! 😂🤣😂
Much luv from nice, warm, sunny, 78 deg, tee-shirt an shorts weather here in Florida. 😇

As much painting you do yourself, I would have thought you would make a pressure pot painter. That way, it holds more paint and does away with that jug on your sprayer.

If you’re going for high gloss, the substrate would have to be perfect. Otherwise that’ll show up any imperfections. Matt doesn’t show up any imperfections. I’m a semi gloss man myself as it’s halfway between Matt and gloss. What a huge difference a coat of paint makes. When you start to add the wood trims etc, that will look awesome 👍👍👍👍

On your first primer coat, don't pile it on so thick, you will always have to re-fair, at least one more time. Go lighter on the re-fair so that you don't have to sand so much. As your finish gets closer to your level of satisfaction begin to apply the paint heavier. Please get more coaching before you shoot top coat, it is a different animal than primer. If nothing else, practice on a small area before unloading on half the boat. Good luck.

Looks great yes it is a big job to fair an entire interior prime and painter .
For the next step when you’re going to do the top coat, I would recommend you to make a different compartments in the world and not do like you did with the primer you will get a better result if you do one cabin as an example and then turn it off when you’re finished and do another section and so forth instead of trying to do it all in one go.
That’s how we proceed on big jobs. We will make compartments on stages also for the overspray, which is much bigger on a topcoat than a primer will be sucked out of a smaller compartment better than an entire interior.
Good luck look forward to see the finished result 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Hey guys, great project, have watched eagerly through every minute since video #1 - always so great to see your approach to problem solving and learning from your techniques. A question from this video - the lint fibres that were left on the surfaces after the first coat of primer which you had to sand away - how did you avoid this from happening again the 2nd time round?
