CANON R6 Mark ii vs SONY A7IV | Should you get SONY or CANON ?

I agree, canon colours are something else but you can make me pay a camera for 2K with a lens for 2500£ minimum and not giving any option for poor people xD

I have the Sony A6300 right now with the Sony 35f1.8, Sony50f1.8, Sigma 16f1.4, but when I land a full-time tech job I wanna splurge/buy a full frame camera so I can shoot nice nice nice videos low light as well. But I also like taking photos and doing event photography used Canons, never my or any Sony - so I don't know if it'll perform well in club scenes, with a godox 300 softbox flash, etc.

For both hybrid, really good, photo and video what would you say would be the better investment? For Canon I have my eyes set on the RF prime lenses 24, 35, 50, 85, and potentially a 16, but after watching your video with the IBIS it seemed really shaky. I need help choosing 🤣

About the budget, I have no limits, but I don't want to overpay for something I don't need. Since one of the needs is to use the camera when travelling, I don't want the camera to be too big and heavy. When travelling I will be photographing architecture in cities, my wife, landscapes and quite a lot of video. I choose between Canon and Sony, so far the choice has stopped on Canon R6 mark2 or Sony 6700.

Gday Gerard, you said you have shot 100 weddings or more on the Sony. Is gyro data and catalyst your go to method for stabilization for weddings? Also, how do you handle the crop in 4k 50fps? Im a videographer and have been filming on the a7iv for about 6 months so far. I shoot simple TVCs for small business and find the crop annoying for interior shots. Cheers

I’ve watched thousands of videos and photos from both cameras. Conclusions: canon is the best for photo quality & colors for sure ! Sony is also good with photo , however still behind canon. Video is better on Sony cameras. Still you can get/construct good quality videos with r6mk2

I had a Sony A7III and just bought the R6MKII. I like the Sony sensor a little more (better dynamic range, especially in video) and that's where it ends. I like literally everything else more about the Canon. Just a way more enjoyable tool to use.

I think I will pick up the r6 ii and here is why
for me i shoot at the moment in 1080p and i have an eos r
buying an a7iv will not open much for the future other than 10 bit and 4k 60 cropped.
I think the r6 ii will open more in the future up to that 6k raw and 180 fps plus the c log 3 10 bit and i find canon screens better as resolution and better menus

I think your last statement sums it up. I am a photographer. I hate shooting and editing video. I took Adobe Premiere classes and learned the software and hated every minute. I like the Canon L and R glass. I love the colors and find editing easy to get your visions out. Their cameras seem more phot centric.
