Ayyy let’s goooo
ОтветитьClass looks amazing from a once over, sadly the only campaign I'll be involved in anytime soon is the one I am DMing so it will have to be an NPC for me to "play" it lol.
ОтветитьWhen this class is fleshed out is it going to be added to the players guide?
ОтветитьOmg the intro had me rolling! Great video Ben!! I'm trying to convince one of my players to play this class in our up-coming GH campaign :P
ОтветитьHonestly I find myself getting attached to the Trapper subclass because it gives me Diablo 3 Demon Hunter vibes. I'd totally make the fangs of certain monsters into arrow like the Demon Hunter did in the cinematic. Go check out btw if you want.
ОтветитьDoes grave strike benefit from a critical hit? 2d8 × INT?
ОтветитьThe 20th level ability should be an instant kill of successful in my opinion. The amount of other classes that ca easily do over 50 damage in a single attack by level 20 as well as things like power word kill requiring only 100 hp. The amount of limitations already in place on the ability, it should be the final attack. Thematically it would also make sense as a hunter having so much knowledge on their prey that they can circumvent any form of regeneration or death save with a perfectly executed finishing blow.
ОтветитьOnly just found out about this class now and am definitley looking to multiclass into it, what rules would you use for that?
ОтветитьMonster hunter? Isn't that just a ranger? I will see it as a replacement for the ranger if it ends up been better :)
ОтветитьYay blood hunter on steroids
ОтветитьLove the class mate
ОтветитьWithout a doubt my favourite thing in the class is the capstone. Captsones are so often "meh" from offical WotC classes, but Grave Execution is cool and evocative.
ОтветитьNah, keep it as Alchemy supplies for the Devours Guild. You’re taking the properties of the remains of creatures and turning it into a concentrated consumable that is safe to ingest for those without your conditioned stomach.
ОтветитьWhat I would like actually is if the base class and subclassess get some NPCs stats like how some of the PHB classes got npc stat blocks in Volos Guide.
Because sometimes these classes are great for NPCs and then the PCs can RP the multiclass
Maybe a scaling one? A beginner hunter, a guild initiate, a guild hunter, and a guild huntsmaster?
All in on a Trapper. 100%.
ОтветитьI just realized that a monster hunter of at least level 5 (so they have grave strike) with a rogue 3 multiclass can become hecking powerful because of the Steady Aim optional feature for rogues (in the Tasha book) which gives advantage on a single attack on the same turn.
ОтветитьThe world doesn't need a hero. It needs a professional.
ОтветитьI love the synergy this class has with something like an artificer, making for a fun alchemist/mutant fighter. Grave strike sounds fun and it costing you the extra attack seems like a worthwhile cost. Wish more 5E classes did something that exchanged the extra attack for a harder hitting ability. I think the devourer should stay prof in alchemist tools. I could see why cooking tools would be something fun as well, so maybe offer one or the other? The thing is this guild focuses on potions and potion making. If the player wants to cook, maybe recommend the Chef feat for the +1 con boost and access to food buffs. Food buffs open up a whole new level of buff preparation for a group and there are lots of homebrew recipes to use for some ideas.
Ответитьwas this included in some Grim Hollow Source book, or is this standalone?
ОтветитьIm afraid this class just isn't leveled to the degree of other classes, it lags seriously behind in most areas. The level 18 and 20 attributes are especially underwhelming in that they only slightly improve a previous feature and at 20, 50HP is nothing. A rogue or fighter can do 50 hp of damage very easily in one attack turn by then.
ОтветитьI think the grimoire would be cool if was possible to add monster info as a reward, similar to wizards who can copy spells into their spellbook. Think, of a monster hunter, studying a slayed foe's weakness, or another hunter grimoire. But I think that would be hard to balance.
Great work on the class and the entire setting. I have fallen in love with Grim Hollow Setting.
EDIT: Typos
The best class ever! I am currently playing as one now and love it.
ОтветитьDoes this class deal enough damage or lets you be stable enough with skill checks? I'm a bit afraid to start a character with this class and I'm wondering why this class doesn't have experties for at least one skill. This class strikes me as more of an expert class like rogue or bard. Anyway, I will try it but might homebrew your homebrew a bit. Love your work btw ❤
ОтветитьAny new updates??
Ответитьwith there trappers ability' to make a suit of armor from bits of those it killed is it possible for the trapper to make armor for the rest of the party
ОтветитьI wonder if this will ever be published as more than just a playtest 🤔 I certainly hope so!
Ответитьare all the class features only usable with creatures in the monster book? for example can you use grave strike on anything or does it have to be on monster written about in your book?
ОтветитьIntro = fire!
