Okay - first, the term “British accent” is meaningless since every country in Britain has a completely different accent, there is no one accent that binds them all.🤦‍♀️

Secondly, as someone who IS British I can tell you that Ross’s accents is like nothing that exists in our country! You would think a guy who nearly married an English woman would be able to just imitate her accent just fine but instead he comes out with this load of crap! No English person talks like that! Dick Van Dyke does better than that in Mary Poppins! 🤦‍♀️

I live in the Philippines. When I worked in a multinational company, during a meeting with our Australian boss, my all-Filipino (dark-skinned, very ethnic looking) co-worker suddenly asked a question in a bad British accent. Everyone in the room laughed while the boss just looked at him speechless, confused and trying to contain his laughter. We thought the Filipino was just trying to be funny but he was actually serious, trying hard to impress everyone. After a few seconds, my boss finally asked him "where are you from?"
After the meeting we asked the guy about the Brit accent, he explained that he was a telemarketer.

The thing is with me, English and American accents sound the same, so I always find it weird when one tries to imitate the other, because when I hear both real English and real American accents, I honestly can't tell the difference at all, and only hear the difference when one copies/imitates/parodies the other - but other than that, it's exactly the same to me.
