Great video, as always, Phil and Julie! Fun timing too as I am working my way through a Buffalo Trace sampler from an online liquor boutique from another province. The sampler includes: 1. Buffalo Trace, 2. 1792 Small Batch, 3. Eagle Rare 10, 4. EH Taylor Small Batch, 5. EH Taylor Straight Rye, 6. Blanton’s Original, and 7. Blanton’s Gold. I have sampled 1, 2, 3, 5 & 7 so far. Of those five, I would rank them best to less best as:
EH Taylor Straight Rye
Blanton’s Gold
1792 Small Batch
Eagle Rare 10
Buffalo Trace
May well sample the last 2 today!

Eagle Rare is so hard to find here, but I'm hoping some comes in this week. I only have a pour or 2 left in my bottle and it's my favorite.

Eagle Rare store picks are by far the best sub-100 proof bourbon I've had! Store picks all day for Mash bill #1 when you can find them. Cheers!

Buffalo Trace products are solid. The wife and I especially enjoy the Eagle Rare as well and would agree with its placement. Looking forward to your foray into Buffalo Trace tastings this month. BTW congrats on surpassing 500 subs!

As Eric C said, he and I enjoy what we’ve been able to find of the Buffalo Trace line. Buffalo Trace is my favorite “go to” bourbon, but when we were able to get our hands on a bottle of Eagle Rare, I was smiling!
By the way, Norman is adorable and looks like our cat, Jackson.

I do enjoy your videos. But all the edits, or whatever it is that makes the videos have that 'choppy' effect drives me a bit crazy.

I have to say it’s fun to watch your palettes evolve along with mine as well. Those Buffalo Trace products are so good. I’m really savoring my EH Taylor small batch, mainly because it’s hard to get for me in Texas.

When discussing the (heartbreaking) EH Taylor and you say “...when you put it up against all these really sweet whiskeys,” do you mean figuratively sweet as in good, awesome, quality or literally sweet as in sugary, saccharine, cloying?

I'm not a fan of Benchmark but I admit it mixes well with Dr Pepper.

The entire line of BT products are tasty, even the basic lines. But Eagle Rare, a 10 yr old, mostly single barrel at that price point is amazing. No wonder the shelf is always empty.

I'm confused here, but I'm even more helter skelter in my quest for a bottle of Eagle Rare. Rare indeed! No we have none seems the "out of stock" universal answer.

EHT is my absolute favorite! I wish it were easier to find but maybe it just makes it more tasty. This is a winning mashbill for sure

I recently bought a bottle of colonel E.H. Taylor. It cost an arm and a leg. But I think it was very different from other whiskey but I think it is one of the best I have had.

Colonel E.H. Taylor is very easy to drink. I could have had the whole bottle at one sitting. Dangerous. :-)

Please stop talking about Eagle Rare because it is getting and harder to find on the east coast.

I agree. You just can't go wrong with Eagle Rare.

I hate doing blind tastes because I end up liking my "cheap" bottles better than some of the more expensive ones! 😂

Is that a liter of Benchmark of a 1.75 liter? That thing looks HUGE. I am looking forward to doing a blind review of Benchmark.

Just paid 32.00 for Buffalo Trace today. 1st time I've seen it in my area of Florida so snatched it up. I have never seen Eagle Rare here ever, I look for it. I guess hence the name?? Lol
