Jessica Henwick & Simu Liu || Character Conversations

I love both these people. Shang Chi was such a delight, and Simu was so good in it. Likewise for Matrix Resurrections. I really enjoyed the film, and Jessica's character Bugs was easily the best new addition. They both have a bright future ahead of them.

What a coincidence! Jessica Henwick was given an offer to audition for Xu Xialing before Meng'er Zhang got the role, but she turned down the role so that she could appear in The Matrix Resurrections and that she didn't want to put a "lid" (likely meaning foreshadowing) on the possibility of Colleen Wing returning to the MCU.

Why do people get so freaked out about a stereotype? There are cowboys. it's a stereotype. Who cares? There are roles that are stereotypes, and they are interesting. If you are Chinese or Japanese and you are questioning if it is cool to be in a role as a martial arts master then what is the big dilemma? I understand the frustration if you could only get those parts, but the role in and of itself, if that's what the show is based on is AWESOME!

Matrix 4 wasn't that great but still better than this boring and CCP-ass-kissing version of an otherwise very interesting Marvel character, which rightly so bombed at box office.

I feel like I’m glad she didn’t. I liked bugs but in the big picture while I would’ve loved for her to be in ShangChi, Menger was so good as Xialing and she did it to keep Colleen Wing so we can probably maybe have her as Colleen and Menger so we can have both

Jessica Henwick was easily the stand-out of Iron Fist and I've heard she's the best part of this Matrix. Can't wait to see her in The Gray Man and Knives Out 2 as well. Love her.
