Opening..They took the jab!🫢
ОтветитьPoverty Row or not. One of the things that makes "little movies" like this is how the Directors and Cinematagraphers gave low budget films production value that kept them from looking cheap. The same can be said about Columbia around this time. Shooting in real locations instead of building sets was one of those things. The only area where "economy" showed was the sequence atop of the building where they tried to create a "sky" without a New York Skyline. If that were shot in reality, there would have been one.
ОтветитьGOOD MOVIE, THANK YOU.
ОтветитьPre-Code Obsessed!
Thanks Pizzaflix!! 💜
Didn’t the way they talked about the impressiveness of Empire State Building at the time remind you of how people described the World Trade Center? Eerie.
ОтветитьHow is it that the one window washer talks about getting “the shot” for the ‘flu, when there were no vaccinations in the 1930s?
ОтветитьMr. Burns, a precursor to the Simpsons Mr. Burns?? Great film!
ОтветитьEvery time I watch this I find something new in it. And how true it is through more things change the more they stay the same. The guy with the newsboy cap and a speech impediment in the beginning may be familiar..he was never young I think😅. Thanks for showing it🎉
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьIt was something seeing Walter Brennan young!!
ОтветитьGreat camera angles.
ОтветитьEveryone dressed immaculately.
ОтветитьI loved the use of the fade-in fade-out to suggest the elevator. It seems social mores have changed in almost a century, but not nearly enough!
ОтветитьNj guy here, born in 1977, 46 years old, and 95% of my television watching is exclusively 1930s. And some 1940s. Always been fascinated with life back then. The 1930s definitely still remains Hollywood's greatest decade. ESPECIALLY 1939
ОтветитьHello, timeless, thank u
ОтветитьSO 1932 must be the year the cloche hat disappeared :-)
Ответить47 mins. 'there are times when we must all put aside our privileges' followed by 'private fortunes are the nations strength'. 😂🤣 laughing all the way to the bank.🤑 Brilliant. You can see why they needed the Code.🤑
ОтветитьWhy I'd smack any fella touching, let alone holding my girl's bicep. Kapow!
ОтветитьI Am A Fugitive From A Chain Gang!
ОтветитьInteresting camera work.. intriguing story
ОтветитьI adore the pre-codes... and now what do have of quality..... no-one need answer....
ОтветитьGeez! What a drama. That little twit started it all and didn't even know it. I love these old movies for the style, the clothes, cars, furniture and the way they talk. I was born 90 years too late, lol.🥺
ОтветитьCute; Thank-You!
ОтветитьSometimes, to get ahead, you must show your behind.
ОтветитьThose old art deco buildings are much older than stated & were built by a more intelligent & stronger civilization than ours, The fake history says they were all built in 1929 or near that time during the depression. Those people in that time had not the abilty or knowledge to build such structures.
ОтветитьDrunk guy messed up the movie 😵💫
ОтветитьWalter Brennen turned out to be a great character actor but a horrible racist who dance a jig when he learned Martin Luther King was murdered 😮
ОтветитьReally good movie with the funny corny parts mixed with some really good acting. Loved this movie, and thanks for the upload!♥
ОтветитьMy mom grew up in the great depression and she always would tell me a dollar down and a dollar a week. That's how her mother would buy things.
ОтветитьNot very pleasant... but, I LOVE the ending! So many problems solved in one swift move.
ОтветитьThis was great.almost better than the young and the restless😉
ОтветитьNow 2024, USA, New York is same poverty, bankruptcy and homeless.
ОтветитьThis is So really good and enjoyable ! Loved it ! Very good acting, thank you so much for putting this on.
ОтветитьI loved all the cinematic cuts and swipes and different angle views. The women were great. The men were heroic-comical and the villain-comical-tragic. Entertaining but a dark look at human nature. And ends in a moment of poverty and hope.
ОтветитьWhat does precode Hollywood mean?
ОтветитьVery sad movie. Shows unconcern life of modern society
ОтветитьWonderful hidden gem.
ОтветитьGood sauce, @PizzaFlix.
ОтветитьThese pre code films are like diamonds.
ОтветитьGood movie
ОтветитьGreat old movie ❤
ОтветитьI love pre code it’s much more real if the period
ОтветитьI also love the clothes - compared to how scruffy people are now
ОтветитьSUPER Feel Good Film!!!!!!! How I love Pre-Code NY movies!!! Great dialogue, timing, fashion and interiors. Love this to bits!! I subscribed, PizzaFlix!! Merry Christmas from Northern California !!!
