Using the bedsheets as a table where for the equipment ? Jeezus. Don’t ever do this if you work in ICU or any hospitalization unit where a high risk of sepsis exists.

You need to release the tourniquet before flushing. Geriatric patient veins will not tolerate this extra volume. You can "pop" your vein, thus needing to start an IV in a new location.

Shouldn't you remove the tourniquet BEFORE flushing the vein?🤔

A couple things wrong

Excellent job you make nursing look easy.

Too bad the camera is so far most of the time . Would have been nice to focus on what she is doing . We don’t need to see the patient or the whole room

Oh God she removed the needle and put it on the bed? Where is safety box!!..

At the end you should secure the catheter in a loop on patients hand to prevent it from flying around and banging into things, u prob just forgot to mention it and demonstrate it.

I just fainted when she inserted the needle.

I was practicing an iv yesterday and I got flash back from my needle, kept trying to advance my catheter but it wouldn’t advance and it was causing dimpling over the vein and my classmate complained of pain. Did I advance the catheter too early? Or did I not go deep enough with the needle? Thanks! Great video!

This video was really helpful! Doing IV insertion and removal test off today. And for those saying she spoke too fast you can change the speed under playback settings so they are faster/slower.

I don’t agree with putting the tape on the side rail. Exposure to infection at the site .

I just have never had the confidence to keep trying! Anything else, I'm good at, including phlebotomy but IV's and I just don't get along!? I've been a Nurse longer than I want to say!

She could easily get a needle stick this way. Dont just throw the needle like this 🤨

And i would wish for once to see a vein so obvious on a chemo pt 🙂
