If they did not accept these things they could not work in the arenas and stages to get to the level they want to be in. It's a choice. To follow and believe The Word of God, or not.

Here’s the saddest part, almost even worse than Christians listening to them not knowing what they are is the fact that they (Amy grant, News boys, etc) have been around true Christianity and the Bible enough to know they have moved away from him. When you know better and still do wrong you’ll answer a higher standard than others.

I have been noticing this as well. I don't follow all of these artist but have listened to DC talk, Newsboys, and the DC Talk when they went to different bands for years and still do. I love Toby, Michael and Kevin, and hope they don't stray. I already knew about Kevin and Amy Grant, and hope he returns to the truth instead of going the way of the world. This stuff needs called out loudly. Too many phonies misrepresenting Christ. We are to become new creatures, not the same heathen we were. People need to stop acting like Christians, and just be one. Any man that wants to put on lipstick and represent the Lord, is a disgrace. Their sin and keeping in their sin outweighs their love for the Lord. They want to make the world their friend, and the world is pleased with them, but if you are of Christ the world will hate you for it, because it hated Him 1st. John 15:18

I always wonder why members like Peter and Phil left the Newsboys. Wondering if it was because of conviction? If it was because the Newsboys brand/band was going away from the truth?

Have you considered these artist are trying to be an example to this community and these other artists who aren't of God or were not of God? Why not ask a positive question of the Newsboys if they were the reason these people came to Christ? 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

We have fulfilled "the rebellion" (2 Thess. 2:2-3). In the 30 years I've been born again I have yet to meet a Christian who is actually committed to Christ, meaning willing to let go of their own opinions, desires, or practices when it's clearly revealed that they need to repent. In 2001 Frank Viola and George Barna published Pagan Christianity: Exploring The Roots of Our Church Practices, and hardly anyone seems to care that nearly everything Christians are saying and doing contradicts the new covenant.

I listened to some contemporary Christian artists in the eighties like Don Francisco,Keith Green, Second Chapter Of Acts,Silver Wind,Sandy Patti etc and I still enjoy listening to them,still have some of thier vinyl albums too,and in spite of what some might think of Amy Grant I still like her Straight Ahead album.

I haven’t seen the Jesus music video, BUT if it is a factual representation of the Christian music scene then Amy was a great part of that. I have not ‘liked’ Amy since at the height of her young career she divorced her husband (supposedly for a musician she was traveling with. Stryper played some solid Christian music … and then went secular (last I heard their members repented and turned back to God). Michael Tait, Kevin Max, and TobyMac were solid Christians who formed dcTalk while attending Liberty University together. I suppose that Kevin never was a Christian, because I don’t believe that you can turn your back on God once you really know Him. I am grieved over the direction Kevin, Amy, and many others have taken with their lives and music. I do not justify Michael’s association with Amy or his and Toby’s association with Kevin, but I have seen dcTalk several times in concert several times and have also seen Newsboys in concert several times, and heard the testimonies of Michael and Toby. Do you stop loving a friend who sins? As a Christian, do you not associate with non-Christians? Where is your salt? Paul wrote that he became all things to all people so that some might be saved. MAYBE Kevin will come (back?) to the Lord through the witness of his lifelong friends, Toby and Michael. Only God knows. But God tells us to GO (not hide) and take the Gospel to all. I appreciate your teaching and your witness. Just be sure that you temper your reviews with the love of Christ.

Brylan, why don’t you contact Michael and Toby, and ASK them about their associations and tell them how those associations appear to others? Get their side! I’m not saying that either of us is right or wrong, but if you are going to use scripture references then you should consider ALL of them, not just the ones you can use to point fingers.

This is so sad and heartbreaking. I pray that the Lord can be with them, bring the Holy Spirit to heal them and truly read the living word, The Bible. We all have to answer to God for all that we have done, said, looked at, and thought. God is the world and the light. 🙏 🙏

God is telling us the world is dangerous but earth is beautiful. Discernment is a beautiful gift of the Holy Spirit, pray for Gods strength in it so you can test the modern day christian music. It can be just as deceptive as secular music is. Not all mind you but more than half. Casting crowns is one of the best for instance. ❤❤

After taking a deeper dive, I retract my original comment. Amy Grant probably was already an LGBTQ advocate when "The Jesus Music" released. She just kept quiet about it to avoid the documentary getting discredited. I'm shocked Michael W. Smith agreed to do a new Christmas tour with her last month, knowing her stance on gay marriage.

In regards to TobyMac, I think we can safely rule him out of the "list of heretical CCM Artists." Now, if he and Tait still make an attempt to record new music with Kevin Max, since he is currently an open Universalist, I'd be very sketchy of it.

As a recovering pharisee I grew up in church. I started preaching when I was 16 years old. I was sincere and serious about the things of god. Then the lord used circumstances in my life to bring me to a church where I was challenged for the first time to know why I was going to heaven.
I learn most people put their face in a prayer or in some kind of dedication. Most people are going to say Lord lord. Have we not preached in your name done many wonderful works in your name.
Simply put salvation is in is christ alone.
Apart from anything you and I can do. Because we have nothing but dead works to offer but christ once suffered for sins, Is the just for the young just that? He might bring us to god through his sacrifice on the cross. He is now seated on the right hand of the throne of the majesty on high. And he is seated because the blood wasn't enough. Hebrews, chapter 1 verse 3 tells us that. After he purged our sins, he sat down at the right hand of the majesty on high.
So many people out there religious and lost.
