ОтветитьSuch a brilliant combination of evocative musical qualities.
Saw him with Pharaoh Sanders and Coltrane’s son. Stayed 2 sets and did not want to leave in the presence of his and Pharaoh’s genius!
Only he could take on this song after John Coltrane’s transcendent version.

ОтветитьWish I had words to describe ... I have no musical training but I can follow it. This man knows things that most people could probably never understand.
ОтветитьI enjoyed the experience of listening to the genius of McCoy Tyner and his trio captured live in northern California circa 2002. His performance was a singular musical statement to Jazz as an endearing and reverent American art form. BRILLIANT!!!!
ОтветитьMerci ! merci ...

"Alfred McCoy Tyner (December 11, 1938 – March 6, 2020) was an American jazz pianist and composer known for his work with the John Coltrane Quartet." I saw him two shows at "Rick's Cafe'" on the Golden Mile in Chicago in 1981and again in Cincinnati, Ohio a little later on. Got to shake his massive hands. RIP McCoy, thank you.
ОтветитьGetting back to listening to some of the stuff I've loved for many years. This is one of my favorite solo piano improvs. He was definitely in the zone in this. 🙂👍
ОтветитьThis man was a mother fucker on the piano. One of the greatest disciples of Coltrane......
ОтветитьDont like how he plays it at all in this version
Ответить👏🏾👏🏾
ОтветитьThat's cool how his left hand has motion blur on the photograph.
