Pm2 brown with s35vn was my first Spyderco. Bought a second one of the same version. Now🙈 I’m around 120 deep in Spyderco knives. Like almost all models, excluding China models. Don’t have any. Can’t go wrong with a para3 or pm2. Or Shaman, sage 5,yojimbo2 or yojumbo. Natives,g10,c/f or lw’s. Lots of great steels too choose from.👍🏻🇺🇸
ОтветитьI do love my pm2. I hope to find a tanto one day. Great video brother 👍
ОтветитьCould also depends on local knife laws.
some counties restrict a blade length and in those situations the Para3 is probably the pick.
I don't have a collection . But
Purchase PM3 . The cameo with G10. 45V ... solid EDC pocket knife ...
Anyone that’s a knife enthusiast should learn how to sharpen your knife. I have always used wet stones or diamond stones. No matter the edge they come with mine is better. Polished edges don’t last as long as toothy edges but are sharper. But anyway yeah get an old timer and a diamond stone and get used to sharpening your tools. I wouldn’t learn on a high end knife either unless you like scratches on your blade.
ОтветитьCompression lock is not a liner lock in the slightest, mechanically it is entirely different
ОтветитьI loved my Para 3 LW until I got a Chaparral... This little beast should not be underestimated !
ОтветитьAlways thought they were ugly and over priced.... Until I got a PM2. Now my wishlist has almost a dozen Spyderco knives, from Smock to Delica wharnie in K390.
ОтветитьAwesome video and review! Have both the PM 2's and Para 3's in various steels, they're both great EDC knives. Thanks for sharing, subbed! 👍
Ответитьwhere did you get that green pm2?
ОтветитьLove em both have pm3 lw and many many pm2 probably my favorite knife aesthetically. But I still usually carry a hogue doug Ritter rsk-mk1 g2 in 20cv cause I use the tip of my knives a lot. I need a tanto pm2
ОтветитьBoth are great knives, but for a Noob into the knife world, even the Delica 4 would be a great place to start (keeping price in mind).
ОтветитьGood video, sir. Im on the fence now between the PM2 and the Yojimbo 2. I love the look of that Yojimbo, but man the Para 2 is like their flagship knife
ОтветитьThe Military version is the only knife worth the high pricetag with a needed 4" blade. Rather purchase a Benchmade AFO 2 auto and no minis
ОтветитьBoth, I prefer the Para2 & it was my first Spyderco Knife & now I have 4 Spyderco Knives
ОтветитьI have the Spyderco Para 2 Cruwear micarta and I like it very much, The Para 3 blade is too short for me the Para 2 is just right for many cutting chores and food prep. The Para 2 is an excellent choice for daily carry and can even be used in self-defense if needed.
ОтветитьExpensive knife but after I got it. Put it in my hand and used it a few times ( Is worth every penny) Best pocket knife i've ever owned
ОтветитьVideo is too long and there is no CUT in-between. I got bored.
ОтветитьHad a 20CV PM2, chip so easy, dont stab with him, will crack so easy. Not wort that money.
ОтветитьI want pm2 so bad
ОтветитьMy first spyderco was a south paw pm2, loved the heck out of it n now I have a warrencliff one, Emerson opener in Elmax n a pm3 that I highly customized
Ответить"you need at least one"
Why though? What will I miss if I don't get one?
Man I honestly prefer the Military over the Paramilitary 2 & 3, the biggest one, haha.
I have Paramilitary 2 maybe 7 years ago, use it 1 year and then sell it almost like a new.
The reason I sell it is because popularized a lot and you know man....
I have a question after I watched the video, I hope you can answer me GBall_Vision!
Why all the Spyderco knives are so smooth when they are not on bearings just the
contrary on bronze washers?Maybe only my Ontario Rat1 openssa smoothly on bronze washers
and drop shutdown like knife on bearings.
We don’t need Spyderco CS, not so much because Spydercos never go wrong, but because spare parts are so readily available. I always returned defective knives, which are rare, immediately, and have never failed to get my money back.
I LOVE the fact that I can take them apart, for tuning, customization, etc., and if I break or lose something, parts are easy to get! And I love the fact that there are so many excellent aftermarket scales and other parts, to make my knives almost “as unique as I am…”
Paramilitary 2s and Para 3s are, in fact, an entire world unto themselves… They are “my kind of knife.”
I only ever had one Spyderco, a stainless Delica that a friend of mine turned me onto about ten years ago, and has been my EDC ever since. I went looking for a replacement EDC, just because, and I now own 7 Spyderco, along with a few Byrd and other brands, from that search. I wanted to like the Manix 2 in S30V, and I do, it's just big, so I tricked it out with some Titanium hardware. The PM2 in S45V came next. It too is large, but the compression lock tab pinches my finger every time I flick it open. The Native 5 in S110V is really pretty in the Blurble, and feels great in the hand, but the thickness of the scales, location of the thumbhole, and the nature of the lockback make it the hardest of the group to open. I picked up a cheap Tenacious in Chinesium, and it quickly became my favorite. So much so, I got another one in CPM-M4. That will probably be my new EDC. I'm not the fidget type, but I like the compression lock, and will eventually get a Para 3 to add to the collection. Maybe, being smaller, it won't pinch me, Lol.
ОтветитьYou should get a Manix 2 XL!
ОтветитьI wanted one forever but have been waiting for a combination good steel and scales. So I just got the new PM2 textured G10 with magnacut and it's awesome. I usually buy more Benchmade than Spyderco because I get tired of FRN or flat G10, and the exotic Spyderco sell so fast, but this one is perfection. Recommend to everyone
ОтветитьHave several para 2. Recently got my first para 3. Carry on a rotation with other knives. But, some of the PM2s are becoming my go to.
ОтветитьWhen I first saw a Spiderco I thought they were really ugly. Then I purchased a Spyderco para3 exclusive because I liked the colors. After this, you might say it was a love affair with Spyderco. Recently, I visited Spyderco out in Golden Colorado. What an amazing trip. The staff out there are warm and genuine and believe in the product. I hope to go back there soon. Now I have six Spyderco knives, hoping to add the PM2 to my collection. Purchased a dragonfly pink for my wife recently and I wasn’t sure if she would use it. The other day, getting the keys out of her purse and saw that that knife is in the pocket of her purse and she uses it. They are functional and great working knives for different Occasions and activities. All of mine, but the exception of one, are in my pocket and being used. You can’t go wrong with a Spyderco.
ОтветитьI keep a PM2 Magnacut in my plate carrier as a duty knife. I carry a Para 3 (the new SPY27) in my pocket on and off duty. They are similar enough that the smaller size Para 3 just works better in the pocket than the PM2. I have a couple of full sized Military 2s as well. One in S30 and the other in CruWear. Those are my favs of the bunch and I carry them hiking or camping, or if I feel I’ll need the extra blade length. I’ve carried a Military series knife since 2001. I don’t think you can beat them regardless of the size you pick. The bushing pivot setup gives them the best action. It’s like they are on bearings. They are simple to maintain, easy to sharpen, have enough variations out there to suit anyone’s wishes, are pretty much bomb proof (except those tips), and have that signature look that is all business. The design aesthetic is all bauhaus. What’s not to love?
ОтветитьI went through this exact dilemma for over an hour in a local knife shop today! The ONLY reason I went with the para 2 is because of how well it married to my hand and today I wanted a more "full size" folder with a full handed grip (without the front choil). However I will be most definitely acquiring a para 3 asap because of how difficult of a decision it was.
ОтветитьI've have been collecting Spydercos until I got the cold steel ad-10....
I feel like it is the ultimate folding knife.
NO knife is worth paying over $100 for.
ОтветитьWhat I like about Spyderco: the steels, the usefulness and ergonomics . I applaud their collaborations and willingness to do things like the dodo. Salt series.
Dislikes: limited sprint runs in new steels, DETENTS esp in titanium knives with Reeve lock, rare use of titanium, warranty, inability to buy parts even screws. Not keen on blade to handle ratios. 8cr18mov steel anywhere in a Spyderco branded knifesteel how about 154cm instead?
Wishes: Axls -locks start with sage 6, button compression locks. Sprint runs minimum 1500, 3000 in Hot steels 15v. Additional spokesmen Eric G and Michael J are great how about shawn Houston as a steel evangelist.
I have both those exact models.
Love them both.
I had five Para Military 2s at one point. Sold all but one. Kept the standard black G10 with satin S45VN. I also bought a standard Military 2. My favorite folding knife ever.
ОтветитьGot the PM2 first, then added the Para 3. They are both excellent folders.
ОтветитьExtremely overpriced brand. I bet the production costs them around 5 to 10 USD only from start to the store shelves. The rest to the 190 USD is net win.
ОтветитьLove them Both!
ОтветитьParamilitary 2 is the Glock 19 of the Knife World with more after market accessories, flytanium copper, brass, titanium scales, matching backspacers, various colored titanium replacement screws, various colored G-10 scales, various Micarta scales, Carbon-Fiber scales, replacement bronze washers, various Paracord knife lanyards with Spyderco Spider Beads, all the new steels in knife blades in Polished, Satin or Black DLC for sprint runs of PM2s, Custom Damascus Steel Blades, Satin Steel or Black Compression Locks to match the PM2 blades.
ОтветитьFor me the Paramilitary 2 with Flytanium Lotus Copper and Brass scales fits my large hands better. The Para3 is too small for me, but if you have small hands, you will probably prefer the Para3.
ОтветитьI would rather para 2 because it's bigger
ОтветитьI live in a state that is known to prosecute people for concealed carrying “dangerous” knives, the definition of “dangerous” being vague so ambitious DAs can maliciously prosecute for political purposes.
As such, I almost always carry a Dragonfly 2 in my 5th pocket. I have to think even asshole DAs would be too embarrassed to try to claim a DF2 is a “dangerous weapon”. Okay. Sometimes I carry a Lil Native.
I have an 22$ alternative knife with an excellent Axis Lock and which never breaks if you are fine with 440C stainless steel and 58 HRC.
The Ganzo 729. The Axis Lock of that is not fidgity but Ganzo did improve the Axis Lock to an "autoadjust Axis Lock". The axis bar has room to travel a few millimeters foreward to make up over the decades for any wear and tear on the axis bar and back blade ramp. The Omega springs will never break on the Ganzo 729. That is an PM2 close copy - a well made copy in 440C steel. None blade play whatsoever. I have 6 of them and only on one rifle green one the blade is a bit looser than on the others but no blade play at all.
Pm2 and para 3 are ugly but function well.
Native 5 is an attractive knife and functions better. Native 5 ruined other spyderco knives for me.
I prefer the para 3. I’ve had several PM2’s and just got the 🥑 pm2 yesterday but still prefer a 3 but I’ll always have both lol
ОтветитьLove the neon green scales!!! Are those aftermarket ?
ОтветитьJust get a Manix 2 Lightweight !!!!
