Awesome, how long have you been van living?
ОтветитьYou can even make/buy a seat cover with pockets on the back, or a hanging bag with various pockets for behind each of the front seats, for small items to be organized and handy. You can have a pocket for your brush/comb, mini-stapler and tape, a tape measures, a tweezer, screwdriver, whatever, etc
ОтветитьYou should built the conversions and re sell them.
ОтветитьI have an older Lexus suv, I’m in the process of doing mine. Without a build ❤
ОтветитьThe best resource is the habitat for humanity restore. Lots of great stuff for inexpensive
Ответитьawesome ideas! while back I built a Sprinter VAN using the same concept. Quean size bed with 4' clearance under for toys or whatever you may need. In the back I put a cabalas fishing table with build in sink and faucet. Manual pump for water to hook up fresh tank and gray tank. Folding chair next to the table. 3 tier storage for food and other things. I think the total build was under 500$. I think that putting the sleeping area and storage between the axels and behind the seats create a safer built in case of a collision. It also distributes the weight very evenly and the handling is not impacted at all. Sure, Teak wood is much better looking. I can rip my stuff out of the van in 60 minutes and you would not know it's a camper van. one more tip, if you have a metal roof you can use magnets to suspend a mosquito netting over the queen bed and sleep with crack doors and windows open. It sure beats any setup up where you have to constantly go through some velcro or magnet driven bug protection which cost arm in a leg and is pain to install. cheers.
ОтветитьYou are amazing. Thank
You so much for sharing your knowledge. You make it look easy and encouraging. Thank you fir all your ideas and helping all of us.
Jupiter Florida has 24 hour free safe parking along the beach and ocean showers pet friendly fishing water sports shark tooth hunting the ocean is warm year round and has the koolest blue color you have ever seen and there are plenty of jobs.
ОтветитьWhat about insulation? When u dont have the skills ?😮😮
ОтветитьFour years later $3000 will only get you a piece of junk rust bucket, with way more than 100,000 miles unfortunately.
ОтветитьOMG, I'm so thankful for this video. I'm purchasing my Sienna in a few weeks, I've been stressing about how to build the floor and carpentry. I'm so glad you made this because it takes a lot off of my mind. This is something simple that I can do. Thankful Bob and all the comments below.
ОтветитьGood stuff Bob!
ОтветитьI didn't know you guys help finding a van like that. Now, I'm down for this whole thing.
ОтветитьI "built" a chevy astro van years ago and all I did was put a 2x12 board cut to lenght and laid it across the top of the wheel wells and bolted it to them. I then stacked milk crates on top of the board to store my stuff in and slept on a sleeping bag with my feet under the board. I turned some of the crates towards the back and some towards the front depending on what was in them and if it was stuff that I'd need to access from the back door or the inside. I literally "built" it for less than $100!
ОтветитьI would get ice chests
ОтветитьThat's a really good idea about getting a cot. It frees up room.
ОтветитьGreat channel
ОтветитьA lot of the big box stores have a saw by the molding section where you could cut the pvc and many times they will cut things for you. Just know your measurements before you go in. Nice video guys.
ОтветитьGood idia❤❤❤
ОтветитьDon't forget to purchase mosquitoe window shades!!!!
My home is for One! 🤣
I’d put the stove-top in one of those bins. If I had to brake hard, it’s less likely to come flying forward.🤷♀️
ОтветитьI’d like to see demonstrate making bunkbeds.
ОтветитьI just got home from. My first van trip! 31 days, 14 states, 8500 miles! I'm giving my 60 day notice on my apartment and hitting the road full time at the end of February 2024!
ОтветитьMake sure the parking spot you're in is level when using the level to measure and cut the PVC pipe legs for the bed. If the parking spot isn't level your measurements will be wrong.
ОтветитьMany mini vans have seats that fold down into floor? Remove those seats put cover on it and u have extra hidden storeage space.
ОтветитьWhat is the average length of the back of a mini van? Because these beds are usually 75inch long. I struggle to find something shorter or like teenager size. I am only 5.2 :)
ОтветитьBlack out windows!
ОтветитьI've been watching 100's of videos. And most of them are really good. But this video has to be the best I've ever seen. Straight to the point, simple, cheap and doable. I love it. Even I could do this.
ОтветитьHow do we know what size PVC to buy?
ОтветитьGreat advice thank you and cool presentation especially with money being so tight at the moment.
ОтветитьThis dwarf knows his stuff.
ОтветитьEnjoying this video made pre-Pandemic and pre-inflation! Hacksaw is now maybe $15 cheap.😀
ОтветитьI’ve watched this video several times now. It’s inspirational for me so thank you
ОтветитьThank you so much!❤
ОтветитьStill do no have a place for a shower, or real bathroom? Other then that great for the tips.
ОтветитьI love this video! I would also recommend: bungees to help contain your soft storage and other loose items under the bed and a large cutting board that can be used as a countertop. A bolster pillow can be used on the bed or the floor, for the floor is especially nice if someone's too tall to sit erect on the bed.
ОтветитьI've watched this several times, learn/relearn something every time.
ОтветитьHow would I heat a Ford fiesta in Ohio to live in it? Apartments are impossible to find
ОтветитьBob, I’m on the east coast, no such luck finding a minivan at that price! Would love to hit the road and become a nomad. Where do you recommend someone broke like me, look to find a little gem like that?.. please help!!!
ОтветитьSaw is cheap but this is free: get old knife, or if scissors or utility knife & it'll go right through that PVC pipe 😊
ОтветитьFlat sheets are so easily converted into curtains, dust ruffles. & panels to hide just about everything
ОтветитьBob is talking me into a nomadic retirement !
ОтветитьHi Bob, I've been watching your videos for awhile now and I am going to be doing the rv life but I will be needing a seasonal job and I hope I can get a seasonal job to support myself. I am thinking of coming out in the spring of 2024. Thanks for your videos very helpful
Ответить🤍
ОтветитьLol!! That PVC leg fix is brilliant!!
Ответить👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьGreat😊
ОтветитьI would love to meet you one day! This is a life goal of mine, and I have learned so much from your videos. Hope to meet you on the road someday soon…thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! ❤
ОтветитьYou are wonderful, caring, and helpful Bob. Thanks to you, HOWA, and all the Volunteers for making people's lives better.
ОтветитьMy dogs and I are doing our test run in two weeks! I bought travel luggage and made a wall to keep the dogs out of the front seat.
