Trying to learn this myself, I'm 'OK' at skating forwards and have been a few times now after taking the kids to hockey lessons. I decided to try to teach myself to stop like the kids, I was getting there, then had a nasty tumble and nearly knocked myself out on the ice after landing flat on my back. Next week we go back and we get better...... In my defence I am the wrong side of 50 and not skated since I was in my teens.
Ответитьyou can use the hocky stop on normal ice skates right? or only hockey skates?
ОтветитьEvery hockey player is thinking about benders during this video🤣🤣🤣🤣 But regardless, nice job learning
ОтветитьHe’s so right in what he says it’s about having the confidence to turn into it
Ответитьyou gotta push down ur outside foot more or else you will almost glide forever
ОтветитьI've been at the 3min mark for years now. Sadly didn't help that he woke up on day 3 and suddenly know how to do it?
Ответитьanyone else learn how to skate by falling on their face a thousand times
ОтветитьAs someone re-learning to skate after a decade and surgery... The fact that he was able to be on the skates for so long at all is impressive. As I'm rebuilding the muscles I'm shocked how painful the process is! Oi! But looking forward to getting to this point too soon. 🇨🇦
ОтветитьHow did this guy learned how to skate for a minute…
ОтветитьI want to learn your job
ОтветитьGot my first ice skates today, attempted this move and ate sh*t 😂
ОтветитьI tried this many times but I just can't get my skates to slide like this! There is so much resistance for some reason. Also my skates sometimes start wobbling when I'm going straight. Anything I can do about it?
Ответитьliterally 10 yearold me who knows how to ice skate watching dis vid bro its not that hard i learned to ice skate in 10 mins longest
ОтветитьWhat rink was this?
ОтветитьI’ve been playing hockey since February this year training almost weekly and i still don’t have this fucking move down.
My left foot is perfect but I can’t seem to feel comfortable doing anything with my right foot in terms of stoping with it in front or behind.
But one day!
that is not a proper stop
i play hockey and its not proper
I play hockey know but when i was first learning how to skate it took me a month
ОтветитьYou learn fast. I worked at an ice rink and I still wasn’t able to hockey stop
ОтветитьIf you know how to rollerblade then you have a head start. Keep training and in 2-3 weeks youll be better!
ОтветитьTry doing the outside edge one leg stop
ОтветитьWhat's funny is the fact that you will guaranteed fall at least 5 times attempting this. (For the first time)
Ответитьtook me 1 hour to get the hang of skating on a good speed
ОтветитьWhat are those skates
ОтветитьFor someone who played hockey this hurts to watch at the start
ОтветитьSuper cül
Ответитьas a ice hockey player, this hurts my eyes
ОтветитьIs this Julie Nolke??
Ответитьdont turn into it just quickly turn your waste legs
ОтветитьI had more than 6 hours of session in a rink and I am still not confident on the ice as your are. Good Job!!
ОтветитьAs a Canadian I feel like I should’ve known how to do this since birth
Ответитьany advice? wtf is this video about? your silly self?
ОтветитьIt seems like it's Americans who call this a hockey stop...I've just called this stopping. Any other Canadians confused as to why this is called a hockey stop? You've gotta learn how to stop even if you're not playing hockey
ОтветитьI learned this stop in 2 days, lots of falling
ОтветитьThat was quick if you truly didn't know how to skate to begin with. My 11 year old plays hockey and we went skating together a few weeks back and I was jealous of how well he could do the hockey stop so I decided to learn it myself.
ОтветитьVery impressive, I've been skating for years and still can't do a proper hockey stop.
ОтветитьAwesome way to learn
Ответитьgot an other way to stop on iceskates. With the left foot pushing with your toes..and you right foot put pressure on the heel. The problem is..you make really Deep grooves in the ice. but really cool way to stop instand.
Ответитьthis video is so boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
ОтветитьThis was quite helpful as I am learning how to stop and to see you have the same struggles as me makes me feel like I’m on the right track :)
ОтветитьMike learn to weld please
ОтветитьDang, I remember, I was a wild child on the ice, and actually could do hockey stops with one leg only
I was awesome
i envy you with your fancy non-rental ice skates and that beautiful and perfect ice skating ring, i use rental skates that are as dull as my ex girlfriend on a very uneven and snowy skating ring
edit: U LEARNED TO SKATE IN 30 MINUTES??? I CANT SMOOTHLY WALK AFTER 3 HOURS
AND STILL CANT
edit: im 13 i have no ex girlfriend its just a joke
i used the milk crates to help me learn
ОтветитьI challenge you to learn how to wheelie on a scooter
Ответитьi could do this without any practice, i learned this while riding skies
ОтветитьIk this video is 3 years old but mike you should learn how to backwards crossover if you want a real challenge
ОтветитьJust starting to watch this and realized he is in rental skates. Edit he changed the skates.
