Mysterious Underwater Sounds Explained

Shrimp wow. That sound freaks me out

I would believed too but the snapping shrimp beheaviour does not snap it claw frequently. May be one or twic in an hour may be. So if your explaination is correct it might be more than an thousand of shrimp around the area when we are driving isn't it.

I was told the sound of fish crunching on coral added to this crackling, fizzy sound underwater. Was I misinformed?

Im in Southern Ca. and we have the crackling sound. I always wondered what it was. Not sure we have those shrimp here or not. You can hear dolphins pretty good when they swim close by.

And I thought there was something wrong with my ears
