Guess if fuel economy isn't that big of a deal to you. 14 MPG CITY/19 HIGHWAY. I'd prefer not to go bankrupt by poor fuel economy...
ОтветитьI have an 05 LS 430. Better than any new car on the road
ОтветитьI have a 2006 GX 470 with 150,000 miles. Transmissions never been serviced. looking at towing my boat with it do you recommend a flush or drain?
ОтветитьI follow your recommend. Bought 2009 Lexus GX350. Question? When should I change the transmission oil and filter?
ОтветитьKnown as a land crusier prado in most other parts of the world. We don't get the lexus version in South Africa. I do agree best SUV
ОтветитьI was lucky to adopt our family car, a 2004 gx470 same color, same mileage, and was garage kept... felt like i was watching you go over mine. Love these episodes! Really cannot ever consider another brand, Yoda's all the way, baby!
ОтветитьI miss you Car Wizard!
ОтветитьMine is @ 240k no leaks runs and drives like new 07' GX470
ОтветитьI have the exact same GX, 230K also the GX is very DIY friendly.
ОтветитьSavannah Metallic is the color.
ОтветитьGreat Video so true so true !
ОтветитьI like when top mechanics tell you why you should buy a certain vehicle or make. 🧰🧑🏼🔧🔧👍🏼🇺🇲
ОтветитьWhile I am a die-hard toyota guy, mostly for the older 4x4s, it does seem like their reliability is diminishing with their new trucks. The new tundra has had several recalls. And the new tacoma has been available for just months and has already had 2 recalls I believe. As long as toyota remedies these issues with no cost to the customer and continues to push toward reliability I will stay a toyota guy. But all the new tech, and the twin turbo hybrid 4 and 6 cylinders will have more failures. There's no way they will last as long as their old naturally aspirated 6 and 8 cylinders. Time will tell. 3rd and 4th gen 4runners, 1st and second gen tundras and tacos, 80 and 100 series land cruisers, fj cruisers and these old gx470s are the best of toyotas 4x4s
ОтветитьWhat about the QX80 vs the GX460?
ОтветитьI’ve always wanted a GX 470. I’ve had two 460’s though, so I consider myself lucky.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing!
Ответить2007 gx470 with 108k for $16k?
ОтветитьNew toyotas are not as good, especially those made outside of Japan but still they're ahead of competition.
Ответитьmy Camry 3.0 V6 developed a rear main seal eak at just 75, 000 km (46,000 miles) ... now it is really bad, am surprised by it, an expensive fix
ОтветитьGX is not sold everywhere. What other Lexus is okay in the Suv segment ? Thanks 🙏🏼
ОтветитьSuper reliable but the gas consumption man...
ОтветитьThe “fake” wood is actually real 🌴
ОтветитьI'm at that stage where I might be buying my last car. My main goal was Uber reliability. I wound up with a 2016 GX460; I plan on driving the wheels off of it.
ОтветитьI have a gx460 and I hope it's reliability can hold up to this.
ОтветитьNo ITS not a Chevy with leaks everywhere, ITS A TOYOTA!!!
🙏🔥 that’s gonna go on a shirt WIZ
What about a 2000 Lexus LX 470 good or Bad?
ОтветитьSo you mean you guys don't change your suspension and engine mount bushings once every year?
ОтветитьTrying to choose between this car and a 2012 Volvo XC90 3.2L i6. Which would you take?
ОтветитьI bought a 2004 with 314,465 miles on it. Never had a single problem with it the last 10,000 miles and have every intention of keeping it until it implodes. Which, based on my research could be anywhere between 500-700K miles! Ha! Ha! Ha! Not bad for $9,000 including a new timing belt/water pump kit and thermostat.
ОтветитьActually the wood trim is REAL WOOD.
ОтветитьI wanted one, but you know....they are always expensive or ragged out, nothing in between. Someone sold me an 05 Armada as a junker and started beating the hell out of it and loved it. Then I found a 2010 Armada Platinum for like $5k, and its been my daily for a while now and I flog it around Colorado. Would I rather have a Lexus, I mean sure. But, I'm getting 90% of the reliability and luxury and capability for 1/3 of the price. No sacred cows for me, I just love the BIG Japanese luxury SUV's.
ОтветитьWe have an LX470 and GX470 both in pearl white.
ОтветитьIs the non-VVTi GX470 better or worse than a 2014 GX460 Premium???
ОтветитьI’m buying one this winter to build an off-road rig with so I appreciate the content of this video
ОтветитьI got 329k baby
ОтветитьCurrently on the car market again, and deciding between this GX or a 2002 LX470…I can’t decide
Ответитьits real wood in the interior
ОтветитьI drove a lot of cars but not that many Lexus , i'd suppose they drive like toyotas
Ответитьwonder if dash was replaced - dash-cracking are one of the weak points of this vehicle.
ОтветитьI have a 2004 GX 470 with 248,000 miles on the odometer. It is an absolutely perfect car. I change my timing belt every hundred thousand miles & replaced the ABS brake booster sensor at 240,000 miles. That is all the major maintenance required.
ОтветитьI have really been doing my research on getting a second Lexus as a daily driver to save my RCF - Its going to be a GX
ОтветитьHey Wizard! You’re past a million! Congrats glad to see it.
ОтветитьWhat years should you look out for? Any that stand out as superior or inferior? Common issues? I'm looking at getting one of these for the affordability/reliability/durability aspect. Thanks!
ОтветитьThe lights are tinted slightly yellow brand new, they are just fogged, and need to be cut with a wet sand and a buff
ОтветитьOk car weezard you convinced me, but its a 20 year old car now, and theres no way im buying something that old, its miled up, scratched up, probably has rust and dry rotted 1$ o-rings buried under 2000$ worth of labour to replace em. Is there anything with same quality but newer, fresher?
ОтветитьThere comes a point in your life you just want shit to work even if it is not flashy or the latest
ОтветитьI want one so bad
ОтветитьBought a 2006 GX new. Now at 187k and only failure was rear air shocks. Replaced with air shocks again but next time they go I’ll get FJ cruiser springs and delete the load leveling electronics. The only other issue was cracks in the dash pad. Not gonna lie, I was mad when that happened. Thankfully, Lexus did the right thing and replaced under warranty. Also provided a nice RX loaner during the process and delivered my GX to my house and took the RX back when the job was complete.
I just had the timing belt, water pump, fan clutch bracket, thermostat, spark plugs, radiator, valve cover gaskets (were leaking oil) replaced as preventative maintenance. All were original…the timing belt with 186k on it looked NEW. I’m certain this truck will last for as long as I want to keep it.
If you want a truck-based mid-sized suv that is as close to bulletproof as you can get, this is the one. It’s a great family hauler, daily driver, capable on trails, etc, tows a boat like it’s not even there, very smooth and quiet ….I’d buy another new one right now if I could.
I do listen yours advices ,that's why I bought a toyota avalon.
