I can't believe he mentioned me at the end of the video, I feel like if messi had sent me a video for my birthday.

Edit: By the way at least in Spanish there are videos in yt like reading or explaining the manga even in color so that may be easier for you but who knows if they did that in english

AHHH i cant believe that's the last video. Holy shit. It's been a wild ride. I already thanked you in the previous vid but I'm thanking you again in this fun and life changing Haikyuu ride. Watching it with you was like the first time for me again. Now you can finally join us in the waiting game like most of us who probably waited episode per episode years ago. The last movie i'm hoping for 2 hours but let's see! I'm excited and will def wait till you see it. I do suggest seeing it in the cinema coz just like this movie, the sounds of the ball in the cinema was INSANEEEE.

Another note, I am going thru some hard shit rn but seeing that discipline shirt of Kita made me tear up a bit as dumb as that sounds coz first of it looks so COOL, but also i've fallen off my discipline train a bit and it's been quite difficult to get back. Takes a lot in me. So I really want that as maybe like a physical reminder? to keep going. I don't have money rn so I hope it doesn't sold out ha. but it's okay. Kudos to the great work by the artist.

P.S- Watching the show the second time makes you notice things you probably didn't pay attention to before (wink wink nudge nudge) It's also a great show to come back to when you're feeling down in the dumps or unmotivated. I used to play it on the treadmill while i walked/jog.

Anyway, thank you again Lachy! Cheers to more reactions. Been watching ur arcane ones and that's another thing to break my heart LOL

I can’t believe this is the last Haikyuu day. It feels like just yesterday that I found your channel and you were just starting to react to the first season. I’ve always loved the intros/messages you give in your videos—they feel so kind to me 🧡. I hope you can react to the endings and openings soon. Thank you for taking the time to upload these videos.

If you’re looking for other sports anime, I love Run With The Wind. It’s an anime about a cross country team I think it’s really good (even if you don’t like running).

I love how they do the final point, it so different from the other game winners because its not like an epic spike but a random mishap so you can't really cheer for the win, which is what the writers are trying to invoke emotions wise

I personally think you should read the manga on your time but just up to the nekoma fight, just cause there are so many little details that was hidden in the manga, like personally the ball boy arc in the manga was hella good like actually making punch my pillows

I really love the movie, I do, it's amazing and beautiful but I hate how much they cut. In most matches we get to know something from at least two or three players from other teams and the rest get their moment, but in this match we already knew every single member so there were no need for introduction to their character, we got more than something from everyone, every single character from both teams, even Nekoma's bench players, the movie makes it Kenma vs Hinata with a litlle of Kuroo and Tsukki (obviously to save time I don't fault them), but the manga is full on Karasuno vs Nekoma. I knew they had to cut when they turn it into a movie, and with the time they had they did a fantastic job, but while I knew when going to see it that they cut a lot, and I even knew that my favourite parts weren't there I was still amazed at just how much they cut. I'll give examples, but it will sound a bit too harsh and that I don't appreciate the movie, I do, and I don't fault those who worked on it, they did an amazing job with what they were give, I'm only faulting the ones that decided to make it a movie, if you don't want to read criticism then it's fine, as I said it's a great movie, I really liked it but I do wish we had the many awsome or emotional moments that were cut.
Everyone had their own moment or more than one that weren't in, Tanaka, Daichi, Kageyama (he became the oni Nekomata warned them about on their first match), Yamamoto, Yaku! anyone from either team, Inokua had his own little arc, in the movie I don't really see the impact he had, hell, even Kenma had more amazing moments and Hinata was way smarter and did a lot of tactics, he didn't just rely on Kageyama's set and the BOOM jump (which didn't even work most of the time) since Nekoma adapted quickly to it.
I feel they rushed to much the first set. We rarely get to see a full set of Karasuno losing, especially animated, they usually rush through them (like the 3 set in shiratorizawa that was longer in the manga while in anime they almost didn't show a single point or Inarizaki second set that we cut away from) Even though I knew Nekoma was going to win that set, I felt Karasuno was scoring more, until they showed the score board and apparently Nekoma was in the lead, I didn't feel that by the way it was presented. In the manga you feel something is off from the moment the match starts, even before the characters point it out you feel that Nekoma trapped them and it really felt like there was no way out. Karasuno also celebrated waaay more winning the second set, and with reason, it was the first time they took a single set from them!! It was to the point that people passing by thought they were celebrating winning the match, not just the set. Also, yes, the animation and direction was amazing but every time they did an amazing rally my first thought wasn't about the quality, it was "Wait! we are already at that rally!? but what about x,y and z rally? they were important" they rushed through the sets in a match against a defense specialist, where the rallys were made to feel looooong and eternal on pourpose
What also hurt me was the subtle yet significant change in Kuroo's backstory, in the manga it was all about him actually being super shy, even more than Kenma, the complete opposite to movie Kenma's "he was always like that", I was like "NoO!? What do you mean he was always like that? he wasn't", the way it was presented in the manga made me cry, probably because I relate quite a lot, I don't know it hit different.
And don't get me started on the libero moments that were cut!! They usually don't get as much attention, and they cut the most coolest moments from both of them! In a match with a defense specialist team!??
There were also many scenes such as Tsukki telling Kuroo "thanks to everyone it's fun" that were just a tad longer or a bit different but that made it more impactful and emotional to me. And also both teams had a speech (in their minds) that ended with "that's why we hate those guys" showing both teams smiling at each other... It just... there were many moments like those that were soooo emotional to me
And Kenma!! I liked the first person pov, I really do, it's amazingly done, I wouldn't change that for the world, but the faces Kenma was making, especially at Lev, they were priceless!! The "idoit! The ball hasn't dropped yet!" and "It hurts..., I'm tired...I don't want it to end" they had more focus since we could see Kenma's desperation (and weren't just amazed and focused with the animation), and it was incredible
I know it was impossible from the get go to have every single scene, unless it was like 3 hs long, I'm aware, and I know they did better, way better than expected, I'm just a bit sad that some will never read the match at it's full potential, also, I'm scared since they did that with the most anticipated match, I don't know how they'll handle what's left, when it's somehow even better than the most anticipated match and sooo full of detail, besides the fact that it's way more than a match that's left. And, the reason I find the ending perfect, personally, is because they take every single detail and give it a satisfying resolution, if they cut those moments then the ending looses it's impact because we don't get the small pay offs that pile up and make it great

the story ends with a proscene match after several years time skip. really hope they also create a movie out of that match. since it's the most high level game in the entire series😭

First of all, thank you so much for sharing your wonderful reaction. I really enjoyed it.
When I first watched it in the theater, I felt the same way you did—thinking, "Why am I crying already? It just started!" I ended up watching it more than 10 times in theaters, lol.
In my case, I first came across Haikyuu when one of the arcs from Season 4 happened to be on TV in Tokyo. I was immediately drawn into the Haikyuu world and bought the manga right after the series ended because I couldn’t wait to see the game against Nekoma. Even though I already knew the result of the game, it didn’t stop me from thoroughly enjoying the movie. Both the manga and the anime/movie are amazing. Haikyuu is supposed to have one more movie, but it’s clearly not enough to cover the entire story since the story about the players as adults are incredible too. Haikyuu has become like a bible for me.

I also have another sports anime that I think is just as good as Haikyuu. If you get the chance, I highly recommend "Run with the Wind". It’s based on a novel written in 2006 and, like Haikyuu, it taught me what it means to live a wonderful life.

Thank you again! Wishing you all the best!

An fyi but "Oni" is just the Japanese word which doesn't have a direct translation to western myth but are other "orges", "troll" or "demon".

They are bit different than what Western consider orges (Shrek type). They are known for their fearsome strength and malicious troublemaking. Often assigned to forces of nature like lightning and thunder. Further in mythology they can disguise themselves as humans.

Basically when they call them "oni" they are just saying they "aren't human" because they have crazy endurance, skill and seemingly get enjoyment out of tough situations on the court where others would get anxious or frustrated. So they must be some type of monsters in disguise.

So glad you finally got to watch my favorite Karasuno match! I was the only person in my theater when I watched this originally and I cried my way through the whole thing alone, so watching along with you and the rest of the community is a nice experience.

Also, I’ve been putting off watching this because I didn’t want the series to end, but here we are. Your channel and this series specifically have been such a massive inspiration in my life the past several months, and have gotten me to challenge myself physically for the first time in years, motivating me to keep putting in the work toward my running and volleyball goals. So I just want to say thank you. I know that the end of Haikyuu reactions is just a new beginning for the channel though so I’m eager to engage with everything that comes next! Keep doing your thing, Lachy! You make the internet a better place. Thanks again!

Hey Lachy,

I can't believe you have already reached the movie and reacted to it. Just wanna take a moment to say thank you for your amazing reactions and comments on all the episodes. I absolutely love your reactions.

I was fortunate enough to catch the movie in the theatre and it was eye candy. I was so happy that I could feel the same emotions once again through your reactions. Btw the animation studio hasn't mentioned anything about the next movie being the last one. There's another arc after it which is one of my most favourite parts of Haikyuu and I am hoping that the studio makes an announcement soon about it but for now we have another amazing movie to look forward to.

I enjoy your other reactions to MHA as well and I hope you keep reacting to many more amazing shows. Speaking of which I have a recommendation for you. There's an anime which was released earlier this year and its called WINDBREAKER. Its a really nice show packed with action and peak animation. I hope you can react to it someday.

Thank you once again and take care!!

Technically it's a bit of a spoiler for one of, it not the best, moments in the battle of the garbage dump manga, but if you are still on the fence on reading it, then maybe this can give you a bit of a push, it shows they cut amazing moments, there are more like that one
