The discussion about homosexuality in many debates skips the physical parts of the body which are naturally dedicated for sexual purposes. F. Lagard Smith wrote a book entitled "Sodom's Second Coming", and in it, he describes with striking details the gay lifestyle. In my opinion, the vagina and anus, for example, are so closely together, but differ greatly when it comes to the smell! The vagina has a natural scent that attracts and excites, which cannot be said about the anus. The first was made to be penetrated, the second to expel what the body does not use....

Side A & B are both unbiblical, but Side B is closer to the truth. It is telling however that both guests take Genesis as either metaphor or myth. David takes Genesis a bit more literally, at least in significance, which is probably why he gravitates to a Side B.

As a Catholic (who am queer, btw), it's almost as if Brandan is called to marriage (with a man), while David clearly has the charism of celibacy, as is the case with Catholic religious -- nuns, brothers, priests -- for centuries. Two different Christian callings, perhaps. Whether "Side A" or "Side B", we have been afforded the delight and priviledge to follow Christ. +He is Risen+. With Peter, we live this truth : "You are the Christ. You are the Son of God." Same-sex partnership is holy and more precious that we can imagine, and we as the Body of Christ have a need to acknowledge and to give thanks for and bless the calling of two men or two women entering into sacred partnership together in Christ. Paranthetically, despite that i identify with Brandon, i am suspect of his talk of "deconstruction" of the "orthodox" Christian faith from "colonial, oppressive" influences. Bullocks, of course.

I remember when I was 12 , the very first person that I ever toled that I was gay toled me that I was going to he'll. Ten years later I was with this person with a group of people who were gathered together in the holy spirit. ( he that can hear,let him hear) which, according to religious indoctrination, I was actually not supposed to be experiencing the same thing that caused Peter to walk on water.

what is being debated from sides a and b, what I understand is that from side a, Branrdon explains that he is gay...but he is a servant of God...and has views on the contents of the Bible...and on side b, David was not previously a person who believes in God....and he is gay but over time based on his beliefs he can give up his gay sexual orientation to become a follower of God....apart from all that personal experience I think depends on each individual...whether he can do that for side b...and for side a I can't judge....because of my personal experience whether side b says all that there is evidence that he has become hetero or he is married to a woman...which I know and have learned to cover up that someone is gay and obeys the family's wishes, does not embarrass the family so he gets married and has children...but there is a but...he still has relationships with men in secret...and in one testimony a person who really hetero sex has 5 children...and later at the age of 50 years and over he tells me that he also likes men and what I want to ask is the other side...are there tens of thousands or even millions of people who have married the same sex and are blessed? by the priest, what would you explain about this...and for me...from childhood I have known that I am gay...I am not married...and whatever my sins I will bear before God and the ultimate. ..for side b, is there no sexual stimulation at all when you see a man's muscular body and can you give us proof of that?

It is perfectly fine if you wish to live after the flesh. You will live your life and die. But if you wish to worship the one true God and his son our Savior Jesus Christ you must accept the washing of the blood for your sins which includes sexual immorality and every other sin that is clearly mentioned in the Bible. Stop trying to twist it. It is what it is and God does not change! Amen

I liked this conversation. It was meaningful to have this nuanced discussion. I am not sure if the LGBTQ+ pastor is pro gay marriage or not. He didnt disclose that. Something he said that bothered. He said that gay people should not have to supress or opress their desire. But that applies to all human, not just gay. As straight people we have to opress so much of our fundamental human instict, our innate desire for pleasure for ultimate good. So I didnt get that part

Such an IMPORTANT topic for so many tormented Christians who Love Jesus Christ and want to please our Father in Heaven in this area of sexual morality. Outside of being Gay, there are few Heterosexual Christians who do not struggle with sexual purity as well. There is Zero difference wether you are gay or straight when it comes to sexual immorality. The Bible is clear that sexual immorality is a sin against your own body. That includes being sexual with someone you do not love. And when you join yourself to someone sexually that you do not Love your hurting yourself. Gods purpose in creating man and woman was to join them together anatomically and heartfully to experience LOVE because Love conquers all. The Love between two humans is an incredibly Godly experience. Sometimes people are born with both male and female DNA or both genitalia as in Hemaphrodites. Some people are just attracted to the same sex and dont know why. Being honest and truthful about that can save a lot of pain and suffering. Ignoring the fact that we are sexual beings and your just attracted to what comes natural would be in-human and dishonest. What is God going to appreciate more?...your honesty or going against what comes natural to you in order to gain Gods acceptance and approval? This is the heart of the subject of being gay. We all have a cross to bare in life. Some of us never struggle with these things and others have to fight our struggles all our lives. I think Jesus went to the cross for all of our weaknesses as we journey through this life. You can trust the Lord to forgive you when you "miss the mark" And the Lord has compassion for those of us who are just born different. Talk to the Lord and tell him your struggle, He will always understand and comfort you. Remember He looks at your heart and He is fair. "Love hardly notices when one does wrong" 1 Corinthians 13;14-8 Always error on the side of forgiveness. When you forgive others, God forgives you as well. Thats the big lesson here.

The other state, ho, is where everything in Life exists whenever it becomes evident to us, such as when a thought pops up from within our memory – whenever we experience or express our emotions – or whenever a good or bad cause manifests as an effect from our karma. When anything becomes apparent, it merely means that it’s come out of the state of Myo (dormancy/latency) and into a state of ho (manifestation). It’s the difference between consciousness and unconsciousness, being awake or asleep, or knowing and not knowing.
The second law – Renge – Ren meaning cause and ge meaning effect, governs and controls the functions of Myoho – these two laws of Myoho and Renge, not only function together simultaneously but also underlies all spiritual and physical existence.
The final and third part of the tri-combination – Kyo, is the Law that allows Myoho to integrate with Renge – or vice versa. It’s the great, invisible thread of energy that fuses and connects all Life and matter – as well as the past, present and future. It’s also sometimes termed the Universal Law of Communication – perhaps it could even be compared with the string theory that many scientists now suspect exists.
Just as the cells in our body, our thoughts, feelings and everything else is continually fluctuating within us – all that exists in the world around us and beyond is also in a constant state of flux – constantly controlled by these three fundamental laws. In fact, more things are going back and forth between the two states of Myo and ho in a single moment than it would ever be possible to calculate or describe. And it doesn’t matter how big or small, famous or trivial anything or anyone may appear to be, everything that’s ever existed in the past, exists now or will exist in the future, exists only because of the workings of the Laws ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’ – the basis of the four fundamental forces, and if they didn’t function, neither we nor anything else could go on existing. That’s because all forms of existence, including the seasons, day, night, birth, death and so on, are moving forward in an ongoing flow of continuation – rhythmically reverting back and forth between the two fundamental states of Myo and ho in absolute accordance with Renge – and by way of Kyo. Even stars are dying and being reborn under the workings of what the combination ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’ represents. Nam, or Namu – which mean the same thing, are vibrational passwords or keys that allow us to reach deep into our life and fuse with or become one with ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’.
On a more personal level, nothing ever happens by chance or coincidence, it’s the causes that we’ve made in our past, or are presently making, that determine how these laws function uniquely in each of our lives – as well as the environment from moment to moment. By facing east, in harmony with the direction that the Earth is spinning, and chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo for a minimum of, let’s say, ten minutes daily to start with, any of us can experience actual proof of its positive effects in our lives – even if it only makes us feel good on the inside, there will be a definite positive effect. That’s because we’re able to pierce through the thickest layers of our karma and activate our inherent Buddha Nature (our enlightened state). By so doing, we’re then able to bring forth the wisdom and good fortune that we need to challenge, overcome and change our adverse circumstances – turn them into positive ones – or manifest and gain even greater fulfilment in our daily lives from our accumulated good karma. This also allows us to bring forth the wisdom that can free us from the ignorance and stupidity that’s preventing us from accepting and being proud of the person that we indeed are – regardless of our race, colour, gender or sexuality. We’re also able to see and understand our circumstances and the environment far more clearly, as well as attract and connect with any needed external beneficial forces and situations. As I’ve already mentioned, everything is subject to the law of Cause and Effect – the ‘actual-proof-strength’ resulting from chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo always depends on our determination, sincerity and dedication.
For example, the levels of difference could be compared to making a sound on a piano, creating a melody, producing a great song, and so on. Something else that’s very important to always respect and acknowledge is that the Law (or if you prefer God) is in everyone and everything.

NB: There are frightening and disturbing sounds, and there are tranquil and relaxing sounds. It’s the emotional result of any noise or sound that can trigger off a mood or even instantly change one. When chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo each day, we are producing a sound vibration that’s the password to our true inner-self – this soon becomes apparent when you start reassessing your views on various things – such as your fears and desires etc. The best way to get the desired result when chanting is not to view things conventionally – rather than reaching out to an external source, we need to reach into our own lives and bring our needs and desires to fruition from within – including the good fortune and strength to achieve any help that we may need. Chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo also reaches out externally and draws us towards, or draws towards us, what we need to make us happy from our environment. For example, it helps us to be in the right place at the right time – to make better choices and decisions and so forth. We need to think of it as a seed within us that we’re watering and bringing sunshine to for it to grow, blossom and bring forth fruit or flowers. It’s also important to understand that everything we need in life, including the answer to every question and the potential to achieve every dream,

I find it hard to think of "gay christian" as anything but an oxymoron.

One thing to remember is that it is not who seems to be more believable in this discussion that matters. It's not about which side is more "God-like" because that's a discussion only God can definitively answer. There are as many interpretations of scripture as there are denominations and people. To argue that the scripture is literal and straight-forward is honestly just turning a blind eye. Sexuality does not equal sexual behavior, nor does sexual behavior equal disobedience. The best thing we can appreciate is that these two men are on a journey with God and each of them is convicted as he is, just as we are whether we are catholic, baptist, Pentecostal or adventist in our differing faiths. Instead of throwing stones let's remember the words of Jesus, "He who has no sin let him cast the first stone". Let's not disprove anyone from a journey with God because whatever path we take to Him, we will each eventually find Him and His truth and we will finally be free and let's not even have expectations of what that truth has to be.
"The just shall live by faith" Jesus said, and it is each of their faith that they are deciding to live by.God is always by the side of those who seek Him and that is why faith is process...we never reach the ultimate 100% understanding and faith, but as He leads, through the scripture (as complicated as it is), our conviction and logic, we become more and more like Him.

David is very thoughtful and kind as well. Especially as a nonbeliever with no skin in this game, I can’t understand how any true Christian could possibly conclude that gay sex, marriage, polyamory etc etc are acceptable within that worldview.

I loathe that term. "Progressive". It doesn't mean anything, definitely not better. Know what else is progressive? Cancer. Aging. Disease. Erosion. Rust. Asphyxiation. Etc.

If you're gay and you love Christ, the righteous path is celibacy? Thats a tough sales pitch. Most young gay people are barely learning about themselves without even exploring sex. We cant tell them to become priests so that they go to heaven or get Gods favor, but 85% of a young persons turmoil isnt even the sex, its the desires. We can sit down and debate, but everyone has to deal with their flesh and their feelings. I appreciate Brandans honesty and earnest desire to find redemption for what he wants for his life. Jesus stressed the condition of a mans heart as to whether they can commune with God, not their partnerships, friendships or marriages. I believe thats also Brandans point of view.

I’m In so much pain even a year and a half after leaving my same sex relationship. I don’t understand why god hasn’t alleviated this pain even thought I left the relationship for him

I understand David’s position and appreciate the calm discussion, but he needs to be more thoughtful about the whole of his belief and the language he is using to endorse it. It almost feels like hedging his bets against the opportunity to soundbite this discussion. If pressed further I understand he may clarify these points, in a way the more clearly harmonizes them, but it can also feel disingenuous in each argument to make quick final statements that at a surface level contradict each other.

I amso sick that the only sin on the planet is homosexal. All others get a pass.
