Petrified Forest - Painted Desert

In this video we will be exploring two of nature's most incredible wonders, the Petrified Forest and the Painted Desert. The Petrified Forest and Painted Desert are in the same park. They are located in northeastern Arizona and are known for its amazing collection of petrified wood, which is wood that has turned into stone over millions of years through an interesting process called permineralization. The Petrified Forest National Park is also home to rich prehistoric history, colorful badlands, historic trading post and ancient and fossilized logs. We will also see some ancient petroglyphs, historic village, beautiful vibrant landscapes and part of Route 66. Route 66 is one of the most famous highways in the United States.
