Libertalia is a missed optertunity. They upgraded the gameplay but downgraded the art. Humanised animals can be cool (e.g. creature comfort), but these humans with animal heads are just disturbing. Then i like the real raw pirate art a lot better.

Thank you, ladies - this format of video is so helpful and appreciated! I'm a massive, enthusiastic gamer, but my wife is... circumspect, at best... about any form of gaming. I'm happy to explore any and all options to bring my partner into the fold, and your insights are invaluable in finding ways to lure her in. So, far, I've noticed she's highly susceptible to a great theme (excluding "high fantasy" or war/combat), but is repelled by learning complex rules and any confrontational "take that!" mechanics! She loves India and travel, so I introduced her to the "Jaipur" card game recently and it was a success! She's a keen gardener, so your "Verdant" suggestion seems a strong candidate. I'm very keen to keep this ball rolling - and with your help, I stand a fighting chance!

My husband does a pretty good job at calling the numbers out in Ready Set Bet - it cracks me up!!!

So enjoyed your list! I've recently gotten into games with Calico and Spring Meadows. Hard to find the time with little ones in the house but it's kind of taken the place of my reading time for now. :) Looking forward to trying some of the ones like Creature Comforts, Cat in the box, Decorum, Woodcraft, Wonderland's War, Block and Key, Downtown Farmers Market... so many!!
