Great cat. If I were a multi-millionaire I would buy such a toy for sailing life.

It's funny my experience with sailboats is in the $2,000 to $5,000 range. Nothing works any more, everything smells weird. Things are constantly swelling up, warping, rusting and otherwise deteriorating at a visible rate. With no fan those inevitable becalmed days turn into an endurance contest of heat and sweat. You keep the rigging and sails and hull in top shape because those are the things that can kill you but otherwise it's basically a used camper from 1970's. All original cushions and rust stains. It's just a different world.

Within about 10 seconds you outlaid your plans for the pretty much the next year. Not many sailing channels do that and I think it gives the viewer a reason to stay connected as it were. Just shows that content is so important in relaying certain vital information that draws the viewer back.

Oh WHO CARES?
LOOK AT US.....LOOK AT US.....LOOK WHAT WE HAVE!
It looks like all catamarans, a lump of floating plastic devoid of all character and without a shred of charm. I'll bet you drive a soulless car too like a BMW or Mercedes which also stands testament to the depth of your personalities.
That said I could be being a bit harsh due to the fact I only read the title and watched a full 8 seconds of your video. 😂

Congratulations, I can't wait until you do the same video you did for the 48 that shows all the options you selected this go around and what changed from the 48. I also would like your feedback on the 50 as far as will it be to much of a boat to handle for just 2 people, or will you hire a crew or use patreons to help you out.

From what I have investigated so far, it seems the 50 will be to much of a boat to handle for 2 people, unless you have a full time crew, or will plan on having lots of guests all the time, especially with the larger sails, and that huge swiffer, lol. The 45 seems to me to be the perfect balance for a liveaboard for 2 people and maybe on occasion some guests.

I don't plan on having large groups as I and my Soulmate prefer a manageable intimate gathering versus large groups.

Congrats to your New yacht! It's the exakt choice I would have done if I had the means, good on ya! Meanwhile I look forward to follow you on your channel here and learn from your experience of the new 50. I think you made a good choice not to go för the flybridge with the extra weight and besides the seats looks rediculously low and at the same time gain in sleek looks and more sail area. Only advantages.

Just a short question, I see you have gone for the 4 cab berth version , will you miss the full length owners berth & how much & what have you lost out on , Do you think leopard have the right choice not doing three berths now. because owners versions were allways worh that bit more.

Do you find the 50 (or your prior 48) to be difficult to manage / sail with just two people? I absolutely love everything the 50 has to offer, but I can't help but feel that it will just be too much boat for a cruising couple. That combined with the extra upfront costs will probably make me lean towards the Leopard 45 when I'm finally ready to configure and pull the trigger.

EDIT: I just saw a more recent video where you were able to custom configure to get rid of the second story lounge pad. Did that save you anything, or end up costing more because it was not "normal" for the 50? I agree the second area seemed like a bit too much for two people, and gets rid of a lot of practical space for solar.

Hope your still happy after the glue and Velcro which holds your head boards up start giving way and things start falling down. We have a 45 and have to say the QA from Leopard is rubbish. They haven't learnt that you can't glue to bare timber and dusty fibre glass, it gives way. Check the SS steps on the bathrooms that they are solid and not loose. Leopard have serious QA issues and they need addressing. The design is great, we love our boat but really angry on the QA, for a $1M boat to be held together by glue and velcro, it's just not good enough.

Awesome boat, congrats- A few questions-1) what were factors that caused you to upgrade from 48? 2) Do you prefer Annapolis or Miami for evaluating the most Catamarans at one show? 3) Would you mind sharing costs including upgrades? 4) What was depreciation like on your last boat when you sold it? (all in vs sale price)? Thanks so much for all the great info

I have taken on and agree with a lot of your reasons for different options. I'm currently planning to purchase a Leopard 50. The person from Leopard (Australia) said the 57 hp motors were ample for the job. I don't want to find down the track that I wish I had gone for the 80 hp Yanmars. I'd be pleased to get some feed back from you on this. Thanks for the videos I have learnt a lot from your adventures and your approach to solving problems.
